PhonesRe: What Happened To Glo Network? by agentarcher(m): 6:44am On Mar 11
rowlandwhy:
Can someone please educate me on what happened to the globacom network?

This business was flourishing and I was proud that we had a Nigerian telecommunication service provider who even expanded into Ghana, but all of a sudden, it seems like they dropped the ball and the network got drowned.

In most places in Nigeria, there is barely glo service, in Ghana, i think its totally off now.

What happen to glo? is it political or mismanagement or some people prefer to have foreigners in this telecommunication sector?
Thanks
Like most Nigerian owned business it was created to make money. As long as they make a profit they don't care. They have no interest in challenging or being innovative. They only act when they notice sudden drops in profits. Someone created a thread once begging communication engineers and technicians to create something that will force this major network companies in Nigeria to behave like how MTN had to adjust when starlink came into the market.

In the other countries we are doing japa to, has inflation outstripped general wage level and complicated by unemployment as is the case in extreme poverty Nigeria huh
Those same country complain as well. UK nurses have gone on strikes multiple times cause of wages, teacher union have gone on strike multiple times. Nigerians greatly suffer from inferior complex. From the day we are born we have been told western countries are heaven and Africa is hell fire. Our education system and religious system are aimed at programming us to japa. The same Nigeria we say is bad is where foreigners come and make it and go. Most poor Nigerians are from the North. In the south there is no money but hotels are booked on the weekends, clubs are booming, prostitution is a booming industry. Major importation of goods is entering the country, you find a lot of Nigerians on the Internet being able to afford data. Most modern Nigerians are just frustrated cause they sold a lie that going to school and getting a certificate was going to make life easy for them. Even in the same abroad they run to they end with depression, mass loneliness, doing third class citizens jobs. When they get to a certain advanced age, thanks to social media they come online to rant about how they feel they have not accomplished anything or how their spouse left them due to difficulties faced. I work IT in an international community, just like we rant about our society, they rant. The difference is they don't see going to another nation as the fix, they try to educate themselves on why their society changes and how they adapt or change it back. In Japan what did the men do when wages couldn't support a family? They gave up on getting married and having children. There was a report that was out that Caucasian men in western countries have reduced the numbers or children they have or just don't have one. Resulting increase demand of migrants to fill up work force. The number of people on social support keeps on increasing, is that a good sign? Social experts have predicted a global collapse is coming soon. USA has already rolled out lab grown and synthetic foods to try and keep up with the food demands of the low income class. It's even on tik tok, people in USA have been posting about how the standards of food have slowly degraded. You have your phone and the Internet. Research global inflation and it's impact.

Why is that some Nigerians judge Nigeria inflation like it's an isolated thing? What country can purchase the same things their currency could in the 1900s in 2020s? Inflation is a global thing. No car company will sell a vehicle to you with the same marketing strategies as they did in the past. And the funny thing is despite the inflation people still buy the latest vehicles.

Evil has always paid in all political parties in Nigeria and since the creation of the country, social media has just exposed the lies we were told growing up. Foreign AffairsRe: Have You Seen Russian Electronic Products Before by agentarcher(m): 11:00am On Feb 15
helinues:
After the first and second world war, Russian products ( Exporting mostly)was banned most especially in Africa, any Africa countries that try to do any deal with Russia would be sanctioned.
Key Export Sectors (2024-2026):
Agricultural Products: Russia is a dominant supplier of wheat to countries like Egypt, Algeria, Sudan, and Nigeria. Exports of poultry, dry milk, and fats/oils have also seen significant growth.
Fertilizers: PhosAgro is a major supplier of phosphate-based fertilizers to over 21 African nations.
Energy & Machinery: In addition to oil and gas, Russia exports machinery and transport equipment.
Defense & Arms: Military-technical cooperation has surpassed Soviet-era levels, with over 340 joint defense projects in progress or development as of early 2026.
Regional Focus: North Africa remains the largest market, but exports are expanding into East and West Africa, supported by new maritime logistics routes to Nigeria.
Key Trends:
Increased Trade Value: The total trade turnover reached $24.5 billion in 2024, with Russian exports far exceeding imports from the continent.
Logistics Expansion: New, faster, and cheaper container shipping routes, such as those to Nigeria, are being established to boost non-resource exports.
Military Focus: Russia has prioritized arms sales to African nations, with contracts exceeding $4 billion.

Nigeria top imports from Russia were Chapter 10 - Cereals (71.46%), Chapter 31 - Fertilizers (10.95%), Chapter 27 - Mineral Fuels, Mineral Oils And (8.90%), Chapter 03 - Fish And Crustaceans, Molluscs And (6.23%) and Chapter 99 - Other (1.53%) in June 2023 to June 2025.

As the world’s largest wheat exporter and one of the top producers of grain, Russia plays a decisive role in global food security and agricultural trade. Its policies, infrastructure investments, and international partnerships directly shape supply flows from the Black Sea to markets across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.

At the heart of these developments stands the RusGrain Union, an organization that recently expanded its scope to unite both exporters and producers. Speaking exclusively to Miller Magazine, Ksenia Bolomatova, Executive Director of the Russian Union of Grain Exporters and Producers (RusGrain Union), outlines their mission, the infrastructure challenges, and the opportunities on the horizon.

“Our task today is not limited to advancing Russian grain and pulses into the international market,” Bolomatova emphasizes. “The Union is involved in ensuring sustainable food security in the country and in the world.” With Russia expected to export over 40 million tons of wheat this season, she affirms the country’s leadership position: “Russia will remain the global wheat export leader, without a doubt.”

Looking ahead, Bolomatova points to Africa as a particularly dynamic market, noting that Russian wheat exports to the continent have grown by 30% across six seasons. “Africa’s market has strong growth potential due to population growth and rising purchasing power,” she explains, while underlining the need for infrastructure, storage, and processing investments to realize that potential.

Beyond exports, she highlights the strategic importance of the planned BRICS grain exchange, backed by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Bolomatova emphasized that the initiative would help BRICS countries form independent and fair price indicators, making global agricultural pricing more objective and strengthening food security.

Ksenia Bolomatova, Executive Director of RusGrain Union, shared her insights with Miller Magazine, discussing the Union’s expanded mission, Russia’s grain export goals, and the strategic initiatives shaping the future of global grain trade. Below are her reflections.

Africa has become an increasingly important destination for Russian wheat. Could you highlight the dynamics shaping this growth?

Africa imports about 60 million tons of wheat annually — nearly double the amount from 20 years ago. Russia has expanded exports to Africa by 30% over six seasons, accounting for a third of the African wheat market today across 30 countries. We’ve seen sharp export increases to countries like Algeria, Libya, Kenya, Morocco, Tunisia, and Tanzania. Africa’s market has strong growth potential due to population growth and rising purchasing power.

However, Africa is diverse, with five distinct subregions requiring different approaches. We engage directly with North African countries, while cooperation with Central and Southern African nations often involves international traders due to infrastructure constraints. To expand Russian grain supplies, a comprehensive approach addressing logistics, storage, and processing is essential — and steps are underway in this direction

grandstar:
Nothing stops Russia from exporting electronics globally.

Russia is a commodity exporter. There is no brainwashing here.

Putin is more interested in Russia living off the proceeds from commodities, especially petroleum.

Second, Putin is more interested in fighting with the West, rather making it an economic powerhouse.
To your first point, Russia doesn't need to sell electronics like the West to be considered a serious exporter. Russia, like you said they export commodities rather than finished products, crude oil accounts for the majority at around 49%. They export flour, wheat, engines, ores, fertilizers, charcoal, etc.

Your second point isn't backed by facts. Russia currency has been the best performing currency. The proxy war by the west in Ukraine was started years ago, Russia finally acted and now Russia can't defend it's interest.

Na how una dey reason like this self
I think you should look at the mirror and ask yourself how you reason. It's obvious your knowledge of how Nigeria or any nations politics works comes from drunk discussions in poorly constructed beer parlors after a long day of frustration. What constitutional authority or privilege does the state government have in a federal government project? The Lagos calabar costal road passes through so many states, have you seen any of them attached themselves to it? There are federal government owned lands in every state, go to your local government office and request to view one. The federal government doesn't need any permission or involvement of a state government to embark on a federal government project. You best educate yourself on the constitution, and also learn the roles of that every level of public office plays and the limit to their constitutional power.

Cherry has their office in the country.

You don't need a local mechanic.
You are still yapping ignorance.

Only someone sick in the head buys a car directly from the manufacturer and takes it to a local mechanic.
He is buying a 2025, he is definitely going to buy it directly from Cherry. I think they even have an office in VI.
Every dealership offers after sales services.

They will fix the car...

Instead of you to accept that you don't know these things because you have never bought a new car you are still acting arrogant in your ignorance.

The young man has the money to buy a brand new car, don't influence him with your poverty mentally making him want to go to some cheap local mechanic.
Na so una go give advice wer go spoil people car...
You clearly are a cup filled with muddy water not interested in clean water. A car dealership doesn't fix cars. There has been different car dealership in Nigeria for ages and so as mechanics, everywhere in the world make use of local mechanics to fix their cars. Just say you don't know how things work in this world. You first mentioned warranty now you are mentioning something else. You don't know when warranty is valid to take care of your repairs. The worst thing in this life you can do to yourself is lie that you know what you are doing and believe in that lie. Last year in Jamaica they imported local mechanics from China to their country because they were far better than the ones from Jamaica. There are multiple videos on YouTube from local mechanics in USA, Canada and UK working on vehicles, some even give instructions on how to fix certain problems. Ferrari is the only car company that limits any car repairs on their exclusive brand to just a license Ferrari mechanic.

Cherry will be servicing it and it will be understand warranty.

If any unauthorized mechanic touches that car the warranty is gone.

Make una try dey buy new car so una go enjoy better thing
Your reading comprehension is extremely poor, and your life sense is equally poor. It's common knowledge that before you buy any vehicle that isn't common in your environment you do studies with your local mechanic if they have knowledge on fixing it. Car warranty only covers manufacturer faults. So from your logic he should buy the car without doing any study because of warranty? Sometimes try and think before you comment. It's obvious you don't own a car. Nigeria a country without good roads, flooding, reckless drivers, so many factors can wreck a brand new car outside warranty scope
Car TalkRe: I Want To Buy This Brand New 2025 Chinese Car, Have Any One Here Used It? by agentarcher(m): 9:31am On Jan 03
Before you buy ask your local mechanic if they know how to fix it, ask if it's easy to get parts. Also check YouTube for reviews. You can also check rednote the Chinese tik tok for reviews if you can translate what they are saying to English.

PoliticsRe: Why Captain Ibrahim Traoré Is Playing With Fire By Detaining Nigerian Soldiers by agentarcher(m): 5:51pm On Dec 14, 2025
Mankind2024:
Why Captain Ibrahim Traoré Is Playing with Fire by Detaining Nigerian Soldiers
Many people underestimate the capabilities of the Nigerian military and what it could mean for the government of Burkina Faso under Captain Ibrahim Traoré.

Don't be misled by Nigeria's ongoing internal security challenges—fighting Fulani herdsmen clashes, kidnappers, bandits, and jihadist insurgents in the North, or separatist agitation in the East involving IPOB and unknown gunmen. These are asymmetric insurgencies, complicated by local sympathies and complex socio-political dynamics that make total eradication difficult without massive collateral impact. No advanced military in the world easily wins such protracted internal wars.

In stark contrast, a direct confrontation with Burkina Faso would be conventional (symmetric) warfare. The Nigerian Armed Forces—Africa's largest by personnel, with superior airpower, logistics, and combat experience—have the overwhelming potential to overrun Burkina Faso's smaller military and, if provoked far enough, enforce regime change in Ouagadougou.

Dismiss any notion that Russia's support for Traoré would deter this. Nigeria could establish theater commands in neighboring countries like Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire, Benin, and Togo for a multi-front operation, leveraging regional alliances and superior resources.

This detention risks escalating a diplomatic incident into something far more dangerous. Traoré's supporters—often vocal online pan-Africanists and certain political factions—may cheer the bravado now, but they would have plenty to lament if things spiral out of control.
This is one reason Nigeria isn't moving forward. We have people like this who want Africa to be forever slaves because they get a pretty penny to keep their people down. Nigeria is a puppet nation with no spine or balls. Our leaders only know how to dance to songs of the west. If you think you are so hot, fly to Burkina Faso and go and claim he is playing with fire.

There is nothing anybody wants to tell me, the government is complicit in the ongoing terrorism in this country.
Because the coup is fake like the one that happened in Gabon 2 years ago. The insecurity in Nigeria is supposed by foreign agents, the government knows but can't do anything cause Nigeria is still a colony. We keep thinking we are independent, but we are not. Lithium, tin, diamond and some rare earth materials were discovered in the North, boko haram is a smoke screen. Planes fly into Nigeria with their transponder turned off. One flew over aso rock in buhari second tenure which the Nigeria airforce has to speak up about.
