In a sane justice system, aren't all past leaders in Nigeria supposed to be in jail? Atiku has looted every office he worked under. Someone who was used as a case study in CIA and Homeland to explain corruption in Africa.

Arrest him for what specifically?

So the Church Heads cannot take half of what they dish out to people and the next thing is to use the Police to arrest them instead of leaving them to God.

So all the abuses heaped on Buhari and Emilokan, what if they decide to start arresting everyone? I remember before the general elections, most of the Church heads spewed different vitriol against Tinubu, today, he's president. Has he arrested anyone for that?

Even in civilized countries their pastors are being called out on daily basis and yet there is no threat

Nigeria is a signatory to freedom of speech among the comity of nations and we shouldn't be seen as backwards.

Cause the Nigeria Church is one of the most corrupt entities in the country.

The harder it takes for people to survive the easier it will take for them to entertain evil vices.

Crime and poverty goes hand in hand.

A poor/struggling man is naturally prone to crime.

When we clamour for better governance it’s because of things like this not hate or tribal war.

Poverty has nothing to do with this, its our culture to look for the easy route to money.
Politics / Re: How States Shared ₦5.3tr Federal Allocation In 2024 by agentarcher(m): 2:16am On Jan 06
Ojuntana:
What is the value in dollars?

This is just like Tinubu claiming he's fighting corruption with 70k minimum wage when 70k is just $43 from the previous 30k that was about $65

Revenue did not increase. The naira value to dollar fell and they got more naira from same or less dollars

First class accountant indeed

Mtcheew it's even the nation. I won't be surprised if the figures are lies

You should go to usa then so you can be using dollar. This is federal allocation. We have not to talk about what the state generates internally from various means, and you say it's not enough. You just love to nag, nothing else.

You don't know me, so I'll pardon your ignorance and wrong choice of words,,,you may know much about translations as u said,in my humility I'll say I know quite a little and I'm still learning.of the many translations I've checked,I think the new world translation 2013 edition pgs 1718 -1721 tell much about the principles of Bible translation.if u can lay ur hands on it,I think you'll like it,,For our day God has given us the bible as a guide,so find a translation that hits the mark.the bible is God's voice to us,what people think about it may not matter much if it's all about finding fault in it's pages.so honest hearted individuals the message is crystal clear.

I don't need to know you, your words define you. Like I said, a cup filled with mud can never be filled with water. It takes a second to understand what that means. I am not here to change your view on life, it's pointless. You do you. You came to my comment thinking you knew better, but you didn't. I am not your average gullible individual working the street. You already told me you fear individuals who like to think and learn.

So if I'm to believe ur transliteration of the word fruit from the Hebrew and aramaic.why should I not believe in Bible translations that were translated from the original texts.?you see,as humans we feel we know so much and so we search less for the truth.and so we want to explain God the way it suits us...false Christianity has done much harm to the Bible and so it has made many to loose interest in seeking the truths there in....if God mentioned every fruit producing trees and then mentioned with them the tree of the knowledge of good and bad then that tree is literal,,the tree stands for God's right to rule, his right to decide for mankind what is good or bad..a right that Adam ( mankind) should have realized

Lol, you suffer from the word when a glass is filled with mud you can never add clean water to it. Reading comprehension is your first problem, your second problem is your rigid nature towards knowledge, your third problem is ignorance. If you can overcome all three of these things, you will grow. I have worked with people who do translation and done translation gigs. The Christian body in charge of translating ancient languages to English has never claimed accuracy in their translation. The 21st century English version of the Bible is not the same as the 18th century version of the Bible. Till date, they still seek experts decoding the true meaning of the bible. Even the modern Bible you read is just 40% of the total books written for Christianity. Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back. A man who asks questions is a fool for a minute, a man who never asks questions is a fool forever.

Read 2Cor. 7:1 it talks about christians cleansing themselves of every defilement of FLESH and spirit, cigarettes certainly defiles the flesh as the federal ministry of health warns... Then Gen.2:16&17 say that God told Adam to eat from every other trees in the garden except from the tree of knowledge of good and bad,so denying that that tree doesn't exist means all other trees that are here today doesn't exist either.

Don't kid yourself, no modern English has any true saying to what the original Christian religion was all about. English language was never the Christian language. There is no true translation. The scrolls were all written in Hebrew and Aramaic, which were translated to Greek then to Latin, before being translated to English. There is no 90% word for word translation in the English version. Even 70% word for word translation has not been attainable. Off late, it has been suggested the Book of Genesis might have been written in poet style. That means everything has to be decoded before translation. Cannabis has always been used in ancient times, all shamans from all religion use them to connect to their gods. It has been used as painkillers. The forbidden fruit is unknown. Fruit in Hebrew and Aramaic is (p'ri/parah) both meaning fruit from a tree and the act of sex. Forbidden fruit mean something you desire to have, but it is forbidden. It doesn't refer to the act of eating something from a tree. If you want to understand Christian, you must understand Hebrew and Aramaic on a native level. English version is filled with mistranslations.
Religion / Re: Adam & Eve Ate Nothing In The Garden, Cigarettes Isn’t A Sin - Abel Damina(vid) by agentarcher(m): 3:39pm On Jan 02
Smoking has never been a sin. No one knows what the forbidden fruit was, it's all speculation. Smoking too much is only hazardous to your health. Just like how too much alcohol is bad, too much sugar leads to diabetes. Everything is down to regulation and control. Don't consume what has control over you.

It won't still work, because of Tinubu's level of corruption.

Just imagine, he paid 1.2 billion dollars of the debt and took over 3 billion dollars more in the same 9 months, is that what OBJ did?

No loan giver will see you taking more loans and forgive the previous ones you have not paid complete from the same person(the lender)

So Tinubu was rolling Nigeria in 2020? Reading comprehension is very hard for a lot of you on this forum.

Looking at the comments here, it's easy to see how un-enlightened most Nigerian youths are.

This is actually a fantastic idea. The organisation is most likely over staffed and has a lot of redundancy. For them to identify such a large number of staff to remove, they are looking to streamline efficiency and reduce expenditure.

You may see N50 billion as a lot of money but trust me it costs a lot more to keep non functional staff on payroll bearing in mind that these same staff will still be paid the same N50 billion (or even more) when they eventually retire

You should know a lot of our people love to nag. The online space is filled with people who think they know but know nothing.

ValCon888:
The problem with most of Africa, including the likes of Kenya and Nigeria is that these countries are historically embedded with tribal/ethnic/religious divisions.

These differences act as a catalyst for corruption and violence thereby hindering economic growth and prosperity. They also hinder the creation of powerful institutions and national systems anchored on meritocracy.

Without the above, it is nigh on impossible to create stable infrastructure that is critical for economic development.

Everyman for himself becomes the name of the game.

The political class are experts at this game, so they continue to divide and conquer us through religious and ethnic lines while they enrich themselves till perpetuity.

Tribalism and religion has nothing to do with this. No tribe or religion teaches this thing. This is a societal teaching. This is as a result of poverty mentality. When an organism believes it's living conditions are poor, it will choose survival over morals. The same westerns will go into survival mode once they believe the living condition is at a critical point. These incidents always happen in low-income environments, never in high-income environments. So religion and tribe cannot teach this.

The same people shouting tribalism here are people who will never let a minority tribe or another tribe rule their states or local government. You didn't campaign or fight for a candidate, but you expect appointments from him. Then, when he offers your tribe an appointment, you come online writing articles why your tribesmen should not work with him. If your tribesmen accept, you write another article about how they have lost your respect. Is it by tribe that Nigeria will move forward? If your tribe was so heavenly, why hasn't any single state in Nigeria match the west or Asia in development and technology? Despite the allocations that have been going there.

The fact that USA has not passed any sanctions against Nigeria tells you that our problem is us. You can use China's growth as a case study. The current Nigeria situation is a train about to derail every time, and the passengers are just looking quietly and putting hope that the conductor will pump the brakes. No one in Nigeria is truly invested in stopping the train from derailing. Not until the people step up to take control of the train will it stop from derailing.

I love how when ignorant people love to compare substandard towns to standard ones. They don't like to show you the nice places in Nigeria. We want to keep on telling the world Nigeria is rubbish to justify hating on it. How do we as people encourage development when the places that are of the standard we refuse to show them? We should start the trend of positive PR, so people can believe and be encouraged to keep on developing.

Samsung S22 is a green line magnet. Not helped by the fact the processor it uses overheats a lot. It can handle heavy-duty requirements, but the screen issue and overheating are terrible. The screen cost 300k to fix and repair in my area. Seriously considering just adding money and getting another previous flagship device that's not Samsung.

Please do vigil everyday if you can. After all, did they keep job for you if you stop doing vigil.

And those saying Christianity is scam, why are several developed countries having many Christians. Shebi dey do Christmas in December, to celebrate who? Jesus Christ Birth.

Why America never drop Christianity if na scam? You wey probably feel say you get sense pass others, wetin you and your gods don produce? You wey probably no believe in religion at all, what value have you added to your community?

Please do your Christianity to your satisfaction, pleasing God. Nigeria's problem is bad government, not Christianity. Abi na Christianity increase fuel?

If you want churches to build industries, let government give the churches money to build. You should not expect people to steal the nation's money, while the church does what the government should do. The church can do their part, but they are not the government.

If you did due investigation, you won't be asking these questions. Religion has never developed a country. Any religion claiming that is simply kidding themselves. Western nations are known as industrialists. Religion is all about personal belief. The issue with Nigeria's own is we drag our religious beliefs into everything and try to make everything a spiritual battle. There is nothing wrong in having a belief, but don't try and force others into it. The other thing is that we Africans have great issues in calling a spade a spade. If we defended our brothers, sisters, parents, and spouses the way we defend the so-called pastors when they are caught pants down, we wouldn't be having problems with our loved ones.
