The first 5 are patently false! |
Janetessy:It isn't |
Emusan:Good, so your illustration was not well thought through Adam was created which means Adam was brought into EXISTENCE at a particular time.Sure Does it make sense to say you want know the age of something that was just brought into existence?Yes it does, when the size and functionality of every organ in the human body is directly correlated with their age. Ergo, it makes perfect sense to ask about Adam's age when he was created since he seemed to already have fully functional organs at "creation". Lemme use this as an illustration, my phone was manufactured on 10th Jan, 2016Manufacturing of mobiles is a demonstrable phenomenon which requires no leap of faith. Creating a fully functional human though, from clay...that's something else! So my friend, your illustration is manifestly a misapprehension of the import of my question! |
Emusan:Not sure what you're on about. I didn't use the word "before" in my question. |
alBHAGDADI:Good question! So a question for you alBhagdadi. How old was Adam when he was "created"? |
DeAvenger:That doesn't invalidate my question; unless Adam was Silicon and Aluminium based life form that happened to have Carbon based lifeforms as offspring. This of course, would raise even bigger scientific questions for you and your holy science textbook my friend! |
The claim in the verses you quoted is exactly the kind of garbage an illiterate man would say! It claims man was "created from clay". If that were the case, clay and man should share the same chemical compositions, but man and clay couldn't be any more chemically distinct than they are. The important elemental make up of clay include: Aluminium, Silicon and Oxygen; whereas the important elemental make up of humans include: Oxygen, Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Calcium, Phosphorus and Potasium (99%) and inconsequential traces of a few other elements forming the remaining (1%) Now, you tell me, how is the claim that man came from clay scientifically accurate? |
Wilgrea7:Yes, this is precisely why you should discard the whole story! Remember that the story is supposed to be divinely inspired...so you tell me, what do contradictory statements say about an omniscient god? One that can't seem get its shit straight? really... i understand that there are tiny differences... but what of the details that are consistent?.. people obviously telling the story couldn't seem to remember everything 100%... but they had the 90% accuracy... so before u convince me to throw away the story cuz of the 10%, disprove the 90%First of all, I don't know where you're getting your statistics from. I'm not even sure we're talking of the same bible anymore. Try reading the stories of Jesus' resurrection from the canonical gospels in parallel, and you'll readily find that the only point of agreement is probably the claim that Jesus resurrected. Otherwise, no two gospels agree on the remaining details. If anything, it's the contradictions that are 90%, not the other way around. Secondly, (and you need to appraise yourself a little more honestly) supposing men of god are trying to tell a story about god, and they forget some of the detail of the all important event, will an honest god be pleased with them for applying "artistic license" to the story? By your own admission, there are inconsistencies in the stories, even if it's just 10%, this makes the stories besmirched by the lies of some/all of the writers. I ask you, what kind of savior condones lying on its behalf? So again, you see that it's not me that should prove to you why you should discard the "90%", it's you that should explain why the "10%" inconsistencies haven't caused you to question the veracity of the so-called 90%! |
Wilgrea7:Not so fast champ! The fact that the stories aren't self-consistent and downright contradictory is proof that they were made up! That's usually how lies are detected. So my friend, it's you who should convince us why, in spite of these obvious contradictions, you believe the stories. I mean, to start with, how do you even ascertain which one is the correct one...assuming any one of them is? |
Wilgrea7:Wow! So apocrypha texts in conjunction with the canonical gospels are the compelling sources of your idea of Jesus? Never mind that they are just as ridiculous as the canonical books. I guess it's the bed of nails effect! a single nail piercing through your foot is a potent object of destruction; but standing on a bed of nails; the pressure applied by any one of those nails is inversely proportional to the number of nails on the bed, ultimately making the collective impotent. So it seems with your belief too! The ridiculous inconsistencies in the 4 gospels caused you to question your belief, then you decide to read more ridiculous books; effectively dampening the effect of the cognitive dissonance inflicted by each individual one...well played sire! |
Wilgrea7:And where did these different texts get their idea of Jesus from? |
ScienceWatch:Yes, I am! Glad you've still got some perceptiveness left in you. |
hopefulLandlord:I'm a personal witness to one of the miracles from EmmanuelTV. They once predicted that Hillary Clinton would become the president of 'Mericah. No, the prediction wasn't the miracle in and of itself, of course! In fact, we all know the prediction was a monumental failure! The real miracle was the swiftness with which the Facebook post broadcasting this prediction disappeared after the failure. I SWEAR, only a god can explain such supernatural disappearance of a Facebook post. |
ScienceWatch:define verifiable truth? I have come to realize that the real problem among religions of accepting the whole truth about Jesus Christ come mainly from the fearful clergy of all religions. Their resistance to change comes from the fear of losing their own positions of power among their people and their illusion of status in society.Could this be the reason you resist accepting the whole truth about Vishnu? Jesus Christ did not come to close down any religions, but to show them all the mind-blowing gifts of healing and demonic deliverance etc that a loving God is offering them if they can only believe that he was sent by the same god that they worship.Any god so insecure as to demand recognition before it can lavish people with gifts is not what I'll call "a loving god". An immature, preteen god, maybe. Do you think it is reasonable for a jewish rabbi/ Imam/ pastor/ minister etc to deny their congregations the undeniable, superior personal benefits that God came to offer freely to the world through Jesus ? Instead of accepting the superior benefits that Jesus Christ gave them the Jewish Rabbi's rejected Him.Superior benefit of being nailed to a cross? I'll pass! Scientists are considering overwhelming scientifically verifiable evidence that there is a loving CREATOR, coming out of the Holy Scoan Church Nigeria and two excellent sources of study, Emmanuel TV and youtube.comMention these scientists and cite what peer reviewed journal papers they have published to this end. Emmanuel TV is a golden opportunity for all religions world wide to study in private and examine the evidence. They will make progress if they put aside their religious bias and racism. God is revealing Himself mightily through a black man. Examine the evidence not the man's color !Yes, there is one piece of evidence that sticks tenaciously...like flies on bullshit, that is! The black man's miracle working, all knowing god miraculously deleted a Facebook post after wrongfully predicting that Hillary Clinton would be the president of the USA. Such overwhelming evidence, I don't know who wouldn't believe in such a wondrous god. |
So I saw this sketch by BBC in which they poke fun at ISIS. I thought it's hilarious...wondering what you guys think? Muslims in da house, what are your thoughts? Do you find this offensive? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOB6UDC-67w&app=desktop |
butterflylion:Stop embarrassing yourself. I never claimed to know Jesus, and I'm willing to wager you have no clue either. To prove my hypothesis, I haven't asked you stupid incomprehensible questions. I've asked you a simple question which everybody should be able to answer about someone they claim to know so well. If you're so sure of yourself, answer my question! But you'll fail, and you know why? Jesus is a figure of history whose story is embellished with shamefully contradictory legend as to be unknowable. So quit fooling yourself with garbage stories, and start using your brain. |
plappville:As a matter of fact, yes! I've personally been physically assaulted by a Christian terrorist before. What has this got to do with the topic though? Did Jesus ever say's Christian's should kill unbeliever until they turn to God?. Please, don't divert The OP. Let the Muslims defend themselves. Why do they depend on the infidels for refuge when all.ah commanded them to kill the Kafirs? Is Jesus Yahweh? Cos Yahweh makes Allah look like an impotent teddy bear when it comes to violence... Glass houses hypocrite, glass houses. |
Igboboy59:Another example of Poe's law. I genuinely can't tell if this is a parody or the real deal. ![]() |
plappville:Funny how you're quick to criticize Muslims for disregarding stupid religious instructions in order to ridicule them, and then when I do the same thing to you, you're suddenly consumed by the impulse of your own hypocrisy; so you start defending a record which I never questioned in the first place. What you're too blind to see is that your religious book isn't any less ridiculous than that of Muslims. So you can choose to learn from the age old wisdom that instructs those who live in glass houses not to throw stones, or, otherwise, have your hypocrisy expose you to especial ignominy! |
butterflylion:I'm sure you think you've made a lot of sense. If you know Christ so well, tell me, what was his favorite food? |
alBHAGDADI:Who made Christianity the issue? Your guilty conscience? The reason why Muslims disobey that verse is because they will become poor and wretched if they were to obey it. Majority of jobs today are provided by people of other faiths, majority being Christians. Do you want them to starve to death? This is a good point! Pragmatism can also make people discard stupid religious instructions. Although, I don't see that it negates my point on common human decency. Both can work in tandem. |
mohamedali:Fail! Doesn't read like AgentofAllah's text. Do you now see that I am truly Allah's agent? What better miracle is there than your inability to write a paragraph like me? This is an open challenge, so feel free to try again. |
Clearly, you're not up to the simple challenge. I've asked for only a single paragraph. |
mohamedali:Mohammed, I've got a challenge for you. I challenge you to write a paragraph written in the same style as AgentOfAllah's. People will have to read what you wrote and believe you copied it from AgentofAllah. However, it cannot be anything he's ever written before. If you do this, your version of Allah is the true version. If you fail, you have to accept that I am truly the agent of Allah and accept my message from Allah, that Allah wants you to stop worshiping it. That the Quran explained a lot of miracles and predictions in the past and the present. And one to understand and to know the secrets that it can not exist.Allah wants you to know that the stories of the prophets were plagiarised from other traditions. And all the other miracles you mentioned are merely interpolated lies from very vague sentences. |
Dude, true story of my life up there, only funnier than I could have written it! |
plappville:Many muslims disobey the above verse for the same reason many Christians disobey the instruction in Corinthians 14:35 that women should be quiet in Church, and only ask questions of their husbands when they get home. Both verses are an anachronistic insult to common human decency. |
hopefulLandlord:I'm generally not in the habit of encouraging groupthink, which is why I refrain from prescribing who or what to comment on to other people, because however similar we may think, we all have different things that pique our interests after all. But in this specific case, I agree that a certain level of discrimination is required so as not to keep chasing stupid rabbits unleashed by idiots who care more about antagonising others than about the subjects being discussed. It is to this end that I generally avoid Ebuka's threads and mentions. That guy is more interested in the star status his bombastic loquaciousness earns him with clueless admirers, than with having any sort of productive conversations about belief. That said, I'm not going to advise anybody to ignore him, I leave it to each individual's discretion. |
