I don’t think it is a must to upload an evidence to location as of my last application, we didn’t do that, we only used same address.
MichaelUde:

Check that graduate visa factsheet well o. I know that as part of any application you make for a skilled worker dependant you have to show that you and your spouse are living at the same address (I usually upload council tax bill for that), so make sure that the graduate dependant visa doesn't have the same requirement. I think it does have a requirement for living together. See if you can add her name to one of your utility bills or something.

Based on my knowledge, Only PR and UK Passport can get visa on arrival, make sure to get your visa before leaving oo.
harddrive2012:
Abeg I need help. Has anyone traveled for Umrah from uk before and got visa on arrival with their BRP?

I was using an agent to do the process but he said I can travel with the BRP and get a visa on arrival.

I chatted Saudi rep online and got the attached response. The rep said visa on arrival is possible with UK resident permit and then he went ahead to made mention of having a permanent residence even after clarifying with him I’m not on PR yet but I have a residence permit.

I’m really confused and don’t know what to believe now because I no wan get to Saudi and chop breakfast.

Anyone with a practical experience please ?

Hi, I need a candid advise. I am an international student and would be starting my internship in January 2024, I also would be starting a AWS course this January. I want to buy a laptop, I budgeted £450 pounds for a solid brand new laptop (hp). Been searching online tho, but someone advised I go for a refurbished MacBook on back market or other sites, that it would be better because I would find something great with my budget. What do you guys think And you can drop any site one can find great quality refurbished laptops in uk

We haven’t gotten any letter oo, and it’s exactly two months my wife gave birth today. Abi NHS don forget us 😂
justwise:

My wife gave birth few months ago and she got the same letter, I can’t remember the exact wording but I think they are trying to know the immigration status of the parent so as to know if you need to pay for NHS services you used. If you are on student or work visa then you have nothing to worry about. Follow the instructions on that letter.

Please go for the IT Engineering job. That they are on the sponsorsed is a good sign and your 5 years experience is a plus. All you need to do is prove you are worth sponsoring (shine like a diamond) . I was in your shoe about two years ago and now it’s history.
skayT:
Hello Everyone!!

I urgently need your advice.

I'm currently in the UK on a dependant visa(tier 4), as my spouse is currently studying in the UK also.

I recently got two different job offers.

1) IT engineering job

2) Health care assistant job.

Please which one should I choose?

PS: I have got like 5 yrs experience in the IT field from Nigeria. But folks are saying I should go for the health care assistant job cuz of higher possibility of sponsorship from the health care assistant job.

Although the IT company didn't say anything about sponsorship. But upon researching on the gov.uk site, I found out that they are actually on the list of skill worker(A rating) sponsors.

Do you have any skills or experience at all? Just as any job they are always entry roles. So depending on your skills you can opt for entry roles but having some basic skills will be very helpful depending on the aspect of cybersecurity you are interested in, I may be able to help to guide to some skills needed.

@ rinzylee seems you finally found your answer. Easy peasy 🙂
giselle237:
the UK immigration would not grant say 3 dependent visas for 3 women. Only one would be allowed as the UK law although recognises ur marriage would not issue visas for a polygamous situation. The others can come on their merit on a work or student visa.
Travel / Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by AgentXxx(m): 7:16pm On Oct 03, 2023
That the law doesn’t recognize it doesn’t mean it’s not done. It’s an insider knowledge so no worries 😉
rinzylee:
Pardon my curiosity, but my dear moslem brothers and sisters, what does a man with more than 1 wife do when he wants to migrate?

Does UK law permit polygamy?

Which wife will be the chosen??

Travel / Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by AgentXxx(m): 7:15pm On Oct 03, 2023
Oh I see where you are coming from.
jedisco:

Hehe... the prevalent notion of recent has been that in a free country, it's not the business of the government/others to decide or regulate what what sexual union or practice consenting adults engage in as far as it brings no harm to others. Always wondered why this does not apply to polygamy..

Consent does not preclude slavery or exploitation. The first rule on safeguarding. Poverty is the largest driver of vulnerability.
Travel / Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by AgentXxx(m): 2:40pm On Oct 03, 2023
What is polygamy doing here? I will assume it’s a mistake 😒
jedisco:

I chose the words carefully- modern Britain, akin to slavery...

Many of the terms we have today- child abuse, sexual exploitation, gender discrimination have a much different definition to what they had 200yrs ago.

For someone local, who has a gamut of options, and knows the means to seek redress, care roles are another option. For some sponsored immigrant, many of whom paid several sums (yes I know not right) and have to stick with unreasonable constraints and an overhead tax, it is quite akin to slavish conditions. Sadly, their country may not offer them much better but after years of undergoing such here, they'd have an understanding.

Consent doesn't rule it out. That a person consents to being trafficked for sex or consents to polygamy or donating their organs for money or slavish conditions doesn't mean they are not victims
