When Odega Shawa gave me an autographed copy of his critical analytical book "Pastors of the Apocalypse", I was anxious and curious to find out the identities of the pastors and read the 105 pages in five hours without stepping out of my office.

Odega’s major focus is on the Nigerian pastors of the new generation churches who have their own interpretations of the Word of God for their own selfish motives. These pastors he nicknamed “Top Cat pastors” and he actually mentioned their names and their denominations. He must have done a thorough research on them to be able to separate the sheep from the goats among them. He mentioned altercations between Pastor Tunde Bakare and Bishop David Oyedepo, the controversial confrontation between Rev. Chris Okotie and Pastor T.B. Joshua and the issues raised over the glamourous personality of the late Pastor Bimbo Odukoya of the The Fountain of Life Church and the refuted comments made by Prophet T.O. Obadare, founder of the World Soul-Winning Evangelistic Ministries (WOSEM),

Odega challenged the mercantilism of the worldly prosperity theology of some of the pastors and found them wanting in the Gospel truth of Jesus Christ. He made relevant references to the teachings of the Holy Bible from the Old Testament to the New Testament to prove his points.

Odega’s reference to Dimethyltryptamine on the question of the origins of God and the existential facts of life affecting the human species and their destiny is also as controversial as his polemic analysis of the crisis of faith being exploited by these so called "Pastors of the Apocalypse".

Odega Shawa, a graduate of the University of Lagos has written a well researched book and his English is flawless.

Over 40, 000 people from all the 36 states of Nigeria are presently at the Eagle Square in Nigeria to witness the declaration of President Goodluck Jonathan to contest the 2011 Presidential Election.
Governors, legislators and other party stalwarts of the notorious ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have endorsed Mr. Jonathan who upon the death of the former President Yar’Adua on 5 May 2010 succeeded him to the Presidency, taking the oath of office on 6 May 2010.

The centrist ruling party has been in power since May 29, 1999. But the party has failed to deliver on its promises to improve the living conditions of the most populous country in Africa plagued by rampant corrupt practices and ethno-religious conflicts. The top leaders of the notorious party have been implicated in the Halliburton Bribery Scandal, Siemens Bribery Scandal and other financial crimes and indicted by Amnesty International.

The PDP has exploited the gullibility and hypocrisy the populace to perpetuate its misadministration of the nation. Therefore, most of the citizens will not be surprised if Mr. Jonathan wins the next presidential election in January 2011, because of his power of incumbency and the billion naira budget of his presidential campaign sponsored by Machiavellian political machinery of his sponsors.

The whole scenario reminds me of the exclamation of “It is ‘déjà vu’ all over again!” by Mobolaji Aluko, Ph.D. on April 3, 2002 in his “How A Self-Succession Bid has Turned Nigeria into “Animal Farm” published by Dawodu.Com.

The mammoth crowd at the Eagle Square is reminiscent of the infamous pro-Sani Abacha ‘Two Million Man March’ and seeing the popular Nigerian singer Onyeka Owenu performing her campaign song “Goodluck Jonathan Run” completes the nostalgia, because she did the same for General Sani Abacha at the ill-fated pro-Sani Abacha ‘Two Million Man March’ in the company of many popular musicians and other entertainers from March 2-3, 1998.

The status quo of the corrupt ruling class has not changed and they are desperate to use all means possible to retain power at all costs. And President Goodluck Jonathan is the trump card of the PDP to win the January 22 presidential election in Nigeria.

The only opposition party that can stop the notoriety of the PDP is Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), but it is yet to present any formidable presidential candidate. None of the other political parties can beat the ruling party no matter the credibility of their notable presidential aspirants like former military head of state Gen. Muhammad Buhari (retd) whose strict Islamic ideology makes him unpopular among millions of Christians and liberals in Nigeria.

Nigeria is a country ruled by political gangsters, their proxies and stooges and supported by their legions of beneficiaries and sycophants whose culture of corruption and hypocrisy will continue to plague them until we have a revolution like the one led by Jerry Rawlings of Ghana from 7 January 1993 – 7 January 2001. Only a transformational revolutionary leader can liberate our beloved Nigeria from these kleptomaniacs and their dogs.

Lady Gaga Dominates the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards With Eight Moonman Awards Including Coveted 'Video Of The Year'

Kanye West and Taylor Swift Return to the VMA Stage

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Lady Gaga, outdoing even herself with her adventurous couture, dominated the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, adding eight to her collection of Moonmen with awards including "Video Of The Year," "Best Dance Video," "Best Pop Video" and "Best Female Video." Eminem, who opened this year's Awards with a triumphant performance, walked away with two statues for "Best Male Video" and "Best Hip Hop Video." VMA newcomers 30 Seconds To Mars and Florence + The Machine took home their first wins for "Best Rock Video" and "Best Art Direction," respectively. Justin Bieber was voted "Best New Artist."

A year after Taylor Swift's first VMA win was interrupted by Kanye West, the two returned to musically play out last year's drama, once again on the VMA stage. For an exclusive live performance, Taylor sang "Innocence," an emotional song she wrote about how she felt after last year's incident. Later in the evening and this year as an official performer, Kanye debuted "Runaway" (featuring Pusha T from Clipse), a personal statement on the turbulence of the last year.

MTV aired the 2010 Video Music Awards live on Sunday, September 12 from Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, having transformed the venue into a 1950's sculptural nod to modernism. The VMA's kicked off with an epic performance by Eminem backed by an orchestra to present a medley of his comeback anthem "Not Afraid" into a fiery version of "Love The Way You Lie" with surprise guest Rihanna. Host Chelsea Handler brought her edgy comedic flair to the Awards, making a dramatic entrance that riffed on Lady Gaga's extravagant fashion sense, flying onto the stage wearing a suburban house on her head, complete with a single car garage, and ending her monologue by releasing a dove from her dress. Backstage before taking the stage, Chelsea was shown receiving "encouragement" from well wishers Li'l John, Flo Rida and a score-settling Lindsay Lohan.

Kim Kardashian introduced Justin Bieber, who made his VMA debut performance with an outdoor set of "Baby" into "Somebody to Love" to throngs of adoring fans - including Kim herself who, waving a restraining order, professed she'd nonetheless wait for the young heartthrob in his dressing room.

In another show highlight, the one-and-only Cher presented Lady Gaga with her "Video Of The Year" Award, donning the same outfit (yes, she still fit into it) that she barely wore more than 20 years ago in her own memorable video "If I Could Turn Back Time."

With an intro by Ke$ha and Trey Songz, Usher's electric entrance and pounding energy brought down the house with a medley of "DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love" into "OMG!," showing off his dance moves against an other-worldly combination of visual effects.

The physicality of Usher's set contrasted with VMA newcomer Florence + The Machine's ethereal, breakout performance of "Dog Days Are Over," featuring a large-scale dance number with scores of dancers and percussionists to create a flowing dream-like sequence.

Representing the rock side of the house, Linkin Park extended the VMA stage to include the first-ever performance at the landmark Griffith Observatory, where they performed their powerful single "The Catalyst" against the stunning backdrop of a spectacular Los Angeles sunset.

Hip-hop artist Drake was joined on onstage by Mary J. Blige and Swizz Beatz for a performance of his hit single "Fancy," set against a supper club backdrop. Shortly following Drake's performance, Chelsea stumbled upon the cast of "Jersey Shore" in, what else, a hot tub. Teasing the cast about how dirty the water is, she finally agreed to jump in fully clothed, only to emerge wet and pregnant.

Additional performances included a medley by "dream team" Bruno Mars, B.o.B and Paramore, marking the first time ever that B.o.B and Hayley Williams of Paramore sang their hit single "Airplanes" together.

Joining this year's VMA house artist deadmau5 to perform their current hit singles was Travie McCoy, Jason Derulo and Robyn. The webmaster and Smartweb responded over the weekend and the site is back online.

I've restored the site from backups taken on September 8th. I've checked and it seem to be online at this time. Unfortunately, the logs for the time of the compromise appear to have rotated off of the server already. It appears that these sites is been compromised via vulnerabilities in the scripts however.
