HazzanTazzan: He even said he will extend till August now cos ayo got me involved... Then he blocked me...
Some people are just plain foolish and carefree...
He believes he can do as he wishes while people who owns the money beg at his mercy ... You can call me whatever you want and that will change nothing. The summary of it all is that someone without my consent is trying to use my account to clean up what could be dirty money and I will not have any of it. I am still in the jaady mess and BOA is still holding my $20K+ since then and nobody is doing anything or can do anything about it. I am the one in the mess and I am the one cleaning it up. They will put us in a mess and wash their hands off while we take months sometimes up to a year or even never to clean it up. As it stands right now, I can no longer own a BOA account and that I have to live with. Back to the current issue. After the jaady issue, I told everyone I deal with that I will no longer be buying from ANYBODY. Since then, the Ayo in question has made four deposits in my account and each time, he tells me it is a mistake and he has instructed everyone not to deposit in my account and it keeps happening cos I keep paying. He basically forces money on me. He cannot say it is a mistake because he did it twice before I went to Nigeria in mid-December, for all three weeks I was in Nigeria he did not make the mistake because he did not have my Nigerian number. Then the moment I got back, he said hi to check if I was back and $5500 entered my account. After scolding him and threatening to buy it at 410 because of the dumb depositor, he laughed it off and said he just got off the phone with the guy and promised it will never happen again. You will not believe that just an hour and half later, he made another $5K deposit in my account raising unnecessary red flags there. Now my position - it will take me two statement cycles to make sure that the bank isn't closing my account and holding the money I have in there until they complete their own investigation. That puts it at around March/April before I can say for sure. I have spoken to the person who apparently made the deposit and he totally understands my position. I have spoken to the Ayo and he sure gets it too. If I did this the first time he deposited money in my account, I bet you he will go out of his way to ensure that nobody makes any deposits in my account but better late than never. I have told him now that any money in my account will spend a minimum of 6 months before I have a discussion about getting it out. Anyone can sit in the comfort of their homes in Nigeria and call me stupid or foolish or carefree or whatever else but when they put me in jail, you will not put N1 toward bailing me out abi? As long as that remains the case, I will protect my own interest. If it is not clear, I WILL NOT RELEASE THE FUNDS UNTIL I COMPLETE MY OWN INVESTIGATION AND MAKE SURE MY BANK DOES NOT HOLD MY 5-FIGURE AMOUNT HOSTAGE AFTER I HAVE RELEASED HIS (which will take approximately 6 months). Someone who does not know me contacted me to threaten me this morning and for that I added an extra month (so make it 7 months). I will be glad to answer any questions but whatever you are asking, keep in mind that nothing will change the approximate date that money will come out of my account. Thank you! |

aginamuk: I do not want to believe that I have been scammed. What I am 100% sure of though is that the lady I am dealing with jaady does not tell the truth.
Here is my story:
We spoke and jaady agreed to deposit first that she trusted the fact that I have been on nairaland since 2007. She deposited what was meant to be $2655 (cash) in my Bank of America account and I paid N1,154,925.00 into hers based on a N435/$1 exchange rate agreement. Two days later, they somehow reversed the $2655 from my BOA.
I talked to her several times yesterday between 4pm and midnight (Nigerian time) and she had gone from saying she will refund my naira in one hour to saying that she will refund me after midnight Nigerian time because of her limit restrictions. It is well past midnight now and she has not taken my calls since midnight. She however took my calls and even called me right before midnight.
Here are some of the lies she has told:
1. She lied that it was a cash transaction which it was not. Later blamed it on her not paying attention. 2. She told me around 5pm that she will return my naira within an hour and she was working on getting someone else to do it as she was limit-stuck and that did not happen. 3. When I asked what the real reason for the reversal was she explained to me that they did not pay the depositor on time so he or she stopped payment on the check that was deposited in my account and further assured me I will get my naira back within an hour. DIDN'T HAPPEN! 4. I called after the expiration of the one hour and she told me she could not get someone yet but still working on it and that at the very worst, she will do it herself 12:01am but it will not get to that. STILL DIDN'T HAPPEN!!! 5. Shortly after that conversation, she demanded to see the screenshot of the reversed transaction. I immediately sent it but called her back to ask why she needed to see it after already explaining to me what had happened. She tried to tell me that it was not a complete reversal that it is a temporary reversal. I mean how can you go from a stopped check to temporary reversal just within minutes? 6. Since midnight, she has not taken my call and I still neither have my naira nor the dollars I paid for.
Please anyone who knows jaady should please tell her to return my money.
For those of you in the US, be aware that transfers, check deposits and ACH deposits to your bank account CAN be reversed. Also, if the source of the funds (cash or transfer) is questionable, it will be traced to you and not only will you pay, you could get into trouble if you cannot prove that you were not part of the fraud.
A friend once received 419 money and in the course of investigations, he was questioned. Not only had the money ($100K+) been taken back (he was lucky he had it) but he would have been in huge trouble if there was any proof he knew about the scam. Be very careful with transactions with people you do not know. I have now received all of it back. PHEW! Thanks everyone! |

U complained I didn't. You were being ....... anyways funny you are still willing to accept money from same source ? NYC dealing with you anyways they didn't intervene, they were surprised so take care.
For the records transaction was not 'reverted' like you say but put on 'hold'. I have said that I will no longer deal with you. I cannot deal with someone who tells lies (white or not). I am currently dealing with kaboninc under the condition that any new deposits have to be cash and I will take my balance from there. Thank you though. The REVERSAL (yes because they took the money right out of my account leaving me with my previous balance) may not have been your fault but you cannot blame lying to me several times on anyone else. I wish you well. |

But Brother, why, but why...when we have many trusted exchanger on here but you went for Jaady.
To be sincere, I hate reading stuff like diz on nairaland. When are we going to learn?...some other members will investigate Day11 before even paid for only 4,000 naira of Radio Code Service.
Why trusting anonymous person with such a huge digit. Nobody even recommend her on here for you before striking d deal.
And for you Jaady, Please, return back his money. I beg you, Stop giving a bad name to our beloved forum.
Lesson to other buyers/sellers. Please, know who you're dealing with, do your little research on the person before anything, Use escrow if you not sure or ask for recommendation from the forum.
As for Day11. I select who I deal with on e-exchange to avoid stories. Nobody can be trusted unless numerous deals ve been done together.
Meanwhile, I get small Paypal wey I won sell. Oga escrow wouldn't have helped here. Why use escrow when one party agrees to pay first? This reversal happened TWO DAYS after the deal was completed. |

All the information made available to you by Jaady were correct at the material time even till 12 midnight Nigerian time. The payment into your account wasn't REVERSED but put on HOLD unless there have been a change.
There is an aspersion being cast by you on the integrity of Jaady and myself. So I'll just ensure that it is resolved amicably today.. .either your dollar is paid or your naira is remitted.
I appeal to you to exercise some patience. Remember she told me the payment was stopped because of their lateness in sending naira? It is difficult to believe someone who has told you something that they themselves have proven is untrue. |

debojyde: I,be always wondered how people avoid getting scammed on this section. I have a banker friend who moves cash for me.... I pay into his account here in the U.S and he pays naira into an account in Naija. This a a friend of mine but he still plays safe, waits till the cash hits his account here before he pays naira into my account.... We've moved a lot of dollars over the past few years. But his rate are fair, but not great. For better rates, I transfer directly from my bank here( Pay only about 45 dollars fee no matter the amount ) to my dorm aaccount in Naija and my bro who is a joint holder withdraws and changes at parallel market rate..... Problem with this is since November the stupid bank peeps have not been able to give him dollars.... Keep saying no dollars... Even when restrictions on cash deposit has been lifted Now I cannot imagine doing a transaction like i stated above on nairaland.... Who makes the initial deposit first before the other individual reciprocate..... If there is a good answer I have 50 to 100k dollars I wanna change ( depending on rates).... Whoever is interested should let me know Depending on where you are, we can deal locally in the US. Please send your number as I am interested. |
