oyb: Nigerians and short memories.

Gumsu abacha was as bad as patience in her heyday. If i recall properly, abuja law school was created so she would not have to read law in lagos. She was known for arrogance, excess and first daughterism.

It is no wonder she is joining the hippo in taking a swipe at a man who stood up to her father, a murdering embezzler who died a beffiting death in the laps of w-hores.

That we have people cheering her instead of telling her to shut up says a lot , but then again, these are the same people celebrating abacha.

The hippo has found solidarity from another domestic appendage of a dictatorship. Birds of a feather

The pej brigade can celebrate her words, as they would support satan if he insulted ws. It is instructive that no eminent nigerian has joined words with WS on this. It is only the led by their bellies paid hacks who make absurd insults but skirt around the issue of an out of control hippo in a china shop

wirinet: What exactly do you people have against the president that you can't allow him concenterate on his job, instead of all these unecesssary distraction? God is really watching all of us

Are you serious? I blame people who take you serious. You kill reason, common sense, consience and morals just to justify the propaganda you promote. So the police are meant to stand by and watch protesters stone elected governors of other states in Nigeria? what do you think would have happened to Rivers state indegines in those state if any of the governors was injured by one of the stones.

Now would you still hold that positon if Amaechi's supporters use stones on president Jonathan's Car and damaged it. Now can you support your lie that GEJ (or any other serving nigerian president for that matter) was ever pelted with rocks, and the police, SSS, military were just watching. I am sure you know the security caldron around nigerian presidents when they move. Please provide us with a link.

I honestly do not understand the strategy you and your principal have for winning the next without the support of the northern and south western parts of the country. No governor especially from the north and the south west would be happy that some of their colleagues was stoned by Jonathan's police and no arrests were made.

I do not have the time to go through your past posts but I can bet my life that you are one of the persons that was against the fuel subsidy protesters. I am I sure you then hold the position that people have no right to protest against Jonathans policies. I am sure you would have tribalized and personalized the protests as merely an ethnic vendetta against your principal. You would also have supported the army's forceful stoppage of the non violent protests. Now you are supporting violent protests because it was pro- Jonathan. Shameful.

P.Stacks:
Everythin about Govt is either In Planning or in the Pipe Line, there is never such thing as Implementation..

Nigeria has plenty sound Policies but when it comes to Implementation everything is a Mess.

In Project Managment, they tell you that...
The only problem with a Plan is sticking with the Plan..

Its easier to Plan, its harder to Implement the Plan.
Its very difficult in Nigeria for Plan to go as Planned.

Govt has always been planning but what is the reality on groun..

What is happening in Rivers State is it not a Plan playing out. We can stick to evil plans but sound plans, at the point of implementation is slaughtered by Corruption.

Corruption is the Difference between Plan and Implementation.. So if its still a plan, I'm not interested.
Who is asking for your opinion? Mchew wether your are interested or not na for your pocket(its ur biz)
PoliticsRe: The Poor North: How The Northern Governors Starve The Region - And Its People by Ahasco(m): 3:33am On Jul 01, 2013
These are the kind of people that are worth listening to. This kind of issue should be brought to the for so all nigerians can tackle the problem. Right from the very beginning it has been known that the so called northern leaders are not helping matters with development of the country. Instead of focussing on what they can do to develop their area they focus more on issues that concern zoning and what have you. This is why education is good and necessary for the development of the nation

I won't be surprised this revolution being talked about is directed at the north, this is because its only a place where leaders are so corrupt to a fault that you find such thing happening. Yet they deprive their people of the basic education needed in a society. This is just the beginning, more revelations are coming followed by a complete revolution. I rest my case!

PoliticsRe: Junaid Muhammed Blasts 'illiterate' Patience Jonathan by Ahasco(m): 2:40pm On Jun 27, 2013
In a today's press release in Kano, Dr. Muhammad
said Rivers "coming to the limelight because of the
irresponsible, unconstitutional and bizarre,
illiterate actions, of the so called first lady Mrs.
Patience Jonathan, who hails from the island
village of Okrika in Rivers State and who sees not only Okrika but
the whole of Rivers States, as her personal domain to exploit,
abuse and destabilize as she sees fit because her husband
Jonathan happens to be the president " As at the time of writing, the commissioner of police
in Rivers, his command structure and other security services are
at the command of Patience Jonathan, and by her and
presidential orders, most security facilities due governor, the
speaker and others so entitled, have been withdrawn. Mean-
while professional thugs and all manner of criminals are being
recruited and pressed into service to destabilize the elected
government of Rivers State."
Stressing that those who do not learn from history are
condemned to repeat its mistakes, Dr. Muhammad pointed out
that current developments in the PDP and especially in Rivers
State bear an uncanny resemblance to the old Western Region,
which led to the collapse of the first republic, with very serious
and bloody consequences. Then and now, the popularly elected
leaders of those parts of the country were prevented from
exercising political power and control, and the operations of the
police, the army and the rump of security services were interfered
with in a brazen political manner.
"The current CP Rivers, is bending over backwards to
accommodate the president, his cronies and his illiterate wife, to
ignore or pervert the law and the constitution and norms of
decent political behavior, to harass, intimidate Governor Rotimi
Amaechi, and thus destabilize, a strategic state like Rivers. Those
in the PDP who imagine that this serious and fundamental crisis
can be contained by some band aid or artificial cordon sanitaire,
have a shocker awaiting them," he said.
He noted that the overriding attitude of PDP leadership, the PDP
president, his cronies etc. is an open invitation to anarchy, for his
party, his tottering crisis prone government and most
unfortunately for Nigeria.
"The preponderance of the PDP in the governing processes is a
clear and present danger to democracy," the statement said.
"Add to that the dictatorial proclivities of the party leadership and
penchant for hand picking illiterates and corrupt thugs into key
and sensitive positions; you have the making of an inevitable
disaster."
Dr. Muhammad stressed that the latest developments throw into
doubt the very possibilities of elections in 2015, those elections
being the very reason for the desperate manouvres now being
undertaken.
"If the de-facto commander-in-chief, the de-facto defence
Minister and army commander Gen. Ihejirika who is an in-law to
Patience [Jonathan], and his police and S.S.S. counterparts, are
behaving in openly political partisan manner as heads of
Jonathan's personal militia, it goes without saying that Jega's INEC
will hold no elections worth the name," he declared, calling on
all Nigerians who cherish democracy to stand up and be counted.
He stressed that Rivers State and the fate of its governor must be
of enormous concern to all democrats and patriots, pointing out
that within Rivers State and beyond it, evil thrives when good and
decent people take their eyes off the ball or pretend it is of no
concern to them or is unrelated to neighborhoods.
"Personally I do not know and have never met Gov. Rotimi
Amaechi in person, in Port Harcourt or anywhere else on earth,"
he declared. "I have not been to Rivers State since the expiry of
my national service in the defunct OMPADEC (now NDDC) in
1996. I am however invested in Amaechi's struggles because I
believe democracy is the only way to govern a free people
rationally, and to exercise legitimate power over a free people. If
the PDP and its incompetent president treat this country like a
conquered and vanquished people, they must be cured of their
delusion, soonest."

Can there ever be progress in this country? I pray and hope we realise the truth before we perish, and that might just be what some people are hoping for (for the country to disintegrate) well one thing is certain, God the almighty creator will pull down all evil forces drawing this country backward, and after pulling them down, will raise new spirited beings who are willing and ready to do the right thing by joining hands together to build this nation and the poor liberated from their state of hopelessness (that is if they a willing to). AGENDA TO SAVE NIGERIA: To hell with APC blueprint – Presidency 0
June 14, 2013 | 12:40 am
Headlines, Top Stories
By Soni Daniel, Regional Editor, North
ABUJA — Barely 72 hours after former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, chastised President Goodluck Jonathan administration’s poor leadership, the Presidency, yesterday, fired back at him, describing his economic blueprint for Nigeria’s growth as obsolete and incapable of salvaging any economy.
Besides, the Presidency accused Tinubu of always playing to the gallery for cheap political gains without adding value to the people in anyway.
The ACN leader had on Monday addressed the House of Commonsin London, during which he highlighted major political and economic challenges facing the country; in a lecture he called “Leadership, National Development and the People”.
Apart from describing Jonathan’s administration as lacking the needed capacity to move the nation forward, the APC chieftain also accused the government of taking Nigeria backwards.
Tinubu and democracy
The Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to President Jonathan, Dr. Doyin Okupe, in hisreaction, yesterday, described Tinubu as an autocratic leader, lacking in democratic credentials to talk about leadership and goodgovernance.

This is more comprehensive and meaningful! Very well said hope they understand the simple and succinct language.
Okupe noted with dismay the claim by the former governor thatthe Jonathan administration was drawing the country backwards, boasting that the current leadership had done more than any other in Nigeria’s near 53 years of nationhood.
The SSA also described Tinubu’s economic blueprint, “Third Path” as moribund and incapable of taking any country forward and accused him of trying to delve into an area he has little or no knowledge about.
Okupe dismissed as verbose and lacking in statistical support, Tinubu’s recommendation that nolarge nation has ever attained growth without government running deficit budget to build required infrastructure.
The Presidential aide noted: “It is clear from Tinubu’s paper that theACN chieftain and his party lack a fundamental understanding of both democratic norms and soundeconomic judgment.
“Tinubu’s Third Path blueprint for economic transformation is nothing but a hollow ideological concept. As the ACN national leader has failed to realize, the world has moved away from ideologies in favour of pragmatic and result-oriented policies, whichimpact meaningfully on the lives of the people.
“Natio
ns like Russia and China, which spearheaded Communism, one of the great ideological movements of the 20th century, have since embraced market reforms, and states in the westernhemisphere have also dumped pure capitalism for more people-oriented policies with less dogmasand economic clichés.
“We are sorry to say that the so-called “Third Path” is a cluelesspath to socio-economic abyss as it remains essentially a theoreticalproposition with no evidence of success either in history or contemporary climes,” Okupe said.
Tinubu not a patriot— Okupe
The presidential aide also condemned the ACN chieftain for trying to portray himself as a patriot, noting that his actions and utterances were skewed and not in sync with actions of patriots around the world.
“This is why we regrettably disagree with Senator Tinubu’s labelling of himself as a patriot. As everyone well knows, patriots are concerned with the image, the well-being and survival of their countries and will do everything in their power to protect same even if they have political differences with their home governments. They do not condone terrorism neither do theytravel around the world denigrating their country,” he added.
He pointed out that the former governor had no justification to criticise the rising wave of insecurity in parts of the North, having opposed the recent declaration of state of emergency by the Presidency to checkmate terrorism in the region.
Okupe said the country would have been consumed by terrorismif Nigerians were to follow the advice of the ACN leader and his CPC counterpart, who all asked the National Assembly to reject the imposition of a state of emergency in Adamawa, Yobe and Borno states.
Asking Nigerians to ignore the former governor’s undemocratic antics, Okupe stated that Jonathan had done his best to provide the nation with the needed people-oriented leadership based on the rule of law.
He said: “As any keen and discerning observer of Nigeria’s democracy will attest, Senator Tinubu and his ACN are completely lacking in democratic temper. The ACN as a party is notonly undemocratic but blatantly autocratic and makes no pretences about it.
“We recall that only recently, its National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande, haughtily asserted that whosoever is not pleased with thenational leadership of the party’s way of running the ACN and picking its candidates was free to leave the party.
“It is clear that ACN leadership’s understanding of democracy is tainted and skewed by his undemocratic mindset, which has seen him exert authoritarian control over the party. With such disposition, it is easy to understand his warped and defective reading of the democratic situation in Nigeria.
“To assert as he did in that paper that Nigeria under the leadership of President Goodluck Jonathan isa dysfunctional democracy is not only the height of ignorance but equally of unbridled mischief.
“Unlike the ACN chieftain would have us believe, Nigerian democracy does not stand in any dark and uncertain corridor neither is it authoritarian. Rather, it looms large in the minds of Nigerians for its respect for fundamental human rights and the rule of law.
“For followers, local and international of Nigeria’s democratic journey since 1999, there is unanimity of opinion that no administration has equalled the Jonathan administration in theobservance of and respect for thehallowed principles of maintenance of rule of law, free press, sanctity of the electoral process, separation of powers and respect for public opinion. President Goodluck Jonathan’s opening up of the democratic space through institutional reforms clearly marks him out as a committed democrat.”
“It is trite to observe that President Jonathan is perhaps themost unjustifiably maligned leaderin the history of Nigeria with critics using their overriding influence on Print and Electronic Media freely and in many cases unfairly to take pot-shots at him.
“It is common knowledge that no administration has been abused, lied against and harangued like the present administration under Jonathan. Yet, there have not been any reprisals or harassment from government agencies. Instead, the administration has encouraged free speech and opengovernment. It is on record that despite the avalanche of criticismsand attacks in the media, journalists and their organizationshave not been hounded or closed down as we witnessed in recent past.
The Presidency, which advised Tinubu to adopt a higher standardof integrity as a former governor and political leader, dismissed his London speech said to have been delivered to the House of Commons as an event put together by a private concern owned by a Nigerian who only rented a room within the premises of the British parliament.
“Good leadership must be distant and distinct from lies and deliberate falsehood intended to fool the public. For Leadership, integrity counts!” he warned.

PoliticsRe: June 12 Annulment Was Payment For Abiola’s Evil Deeds – Sen Owie by Ahasco(m): 9:30pm On Jun 14, 2013
lastpage: Another 'dunce', ... comparing "Apples and Oranges"! shocked shocked
I wonder how you people can be this "mentally lazy and intellectually deficient"?
Did both of you even attend ANY University, at all? huh huh

Abiola was NOT a product of UNILAG.
*Abiola's magnanimity transcends Unilag!!
*Abiola was not Unilag Student Union President.
*Abiola was not elected President of Unilag ....but of the whole Nigeria!
*Abiola's popularity transcends Unilag!
*Abiola was not even an Academician, he was a businessman cum philanthropist extraordinaire

If the desire to immortalize Abiola, by President Jonathan, is TRULY GENUINE and RATIONAL,
A Government not as "clueless" as GEJ's will:

1.) Build a NEW FEDERAL UNIVERSITY and NAME IT AFTER ABIOLA, in Abuja ...to show his love for helping Universities

2.) Name the Seat of Government (Eagle Square) after Abiola (Abiola Square!) ...for winning the best election in Nigeria

3.) Name the Abuja Stadium after Abiola ....for being the PILLAR OF SPORT in the whole of Africa

4.) Declare June 12 as a NATIONAL/DEMOCRACY DAY ....in honor of the free and fair election he won convincingly

All the above are more befitting to the stature of Abiola, even beyond desecrating the Legacy called Unilag!

But it is only one imbecilic Otuoke man, parading one kwashiokor-PhD degree, than can ignore ALL THE ABOVE suggestions, with the sole silly intention of ERASING THE LEGACY that is UNILAG! (dont ask me which University he himself attended! grin grin )

Let us leave the matter, he has failed in that endeavor, just as he has failed in so many endeavors (except growing corruption!). The state of the nation is a reflection of the man's failure!
Only in Nigeria.
Arrant Nonsense! angry angry

Maxymilliano: JFK puts it nicely, those who foolishly try seeking power by riding the back of the tiger, instead end up in the belly of the tiger... Excerpt from JFK inaugural speech Jan 20, 1961.

PoliticsRe: Buhari - Nigeria's Head of State 1983-1985 by Ahasco(m): 9:22am On Jun 08, 2013
norrisman: Very interesting.

Bigoted Nigerians will fail to see that none of the men in that ministeral list isvstupendously rich (to my knowledge). Afterall, they were only civil servants. Compare and contrast that list with ministers, governors and senate leaders of today, who have no known mega businesses or are owners of patents of a successful product but are able to post bail of N500 million.
I totally agree, buhari has really meant well to fight corruption but the problem has always being his utterances, if only buhari could be constructive in his criticisms and support his local govt by developing it and creating that atmosphere of good leadership, I tell you he would win tremendous support, its never still to late though cos I have always supported his good stand against corruption. I believe the 2007 election was warn by him cos the govt in power then said it, that he new his election were rigged but then 2011 election was never rigged, and if it was it would be some parties that did not win and just wanted to cause mayhem.

Buhari sshould change his style of approach to issues and try to win the support of everyone and not uttering the wrong statement and sending out wrong signals that can disintegrate the country!
PoliticsRe: Foreign Investors Pour Into Nigeria As Economy Accelerates (Updates) by Ahasco(m): 9:35am On Jun 04, 2013
phemi01: foreigners must do everything for us in nigeria. See thm jumping up n down like they just gained independence. With all the money ur leaders are stealing, they still have to soleLy depend on foreign investors to do everything. Una neva see anything. Ur all going back to the slave trade era sooner than u know. Nigerians are already suffering from serious mental slavery though.
Be constructive in your opposition! The companies, industries and big organisations in America, were they built by just the American government? They are owned mainly by private investors both foreigners and locals, or do you fink we are still in the era of mediocrity. Mchew

sheyie2007: Laudable! See the next president in action... If I hear buha## I'll break his back bone huh
If only all state governors think the way he thinks, the problem of the country would have been greatly reduced. Instead everyone(state) are expecting manner to fall from the centre.
PoliticsRe: Sanusi, His CBN Mistress And Their Escapades - Premium Times by Ahasco(m): 11:16am On Jun 02, 2013
How did these paparazzi get all these info, to the extent of reading out private text messages, hmm something sounds suspicious. As for him contesting for presidency there is no problem, that is if he does not chase after all the women in high places at the expense of good governance.
PoliticsRe: Anenih Seeks Automatic Ticket For Jonathan & Others by Ahasco(m): 5:38am On Jun 02, 2013
owobokiri: Parties have the right to organize their party primaries the way they deem fit.., as stipulated by their party constitutions..., which they can amend, re amend and amend to suit the party goals at any given time! Obviously GEJ IS IN A BIG MESS, and that is putting it mildly. I cant believe that a sitting president with all his abundant powers can allow himself to be boxed into a corner by a bunch of vociferous governors snarling left and right like wild hyenas. This latest decree from Anenih just confirms that the whole house is on fire. Governors have gone rouge and their latest victory at the GF election has added more confidence within their ranks while sending the house at Aso into panic mode.. But then, who are these emergency revolutionaries?? Are they any inch better? The answer is no . If the opposition within is motivated by higher ideals, it would have been cool to see many Nigerians join ranks and usher in better characters into officialdom,.. but what we have here is a ruthless gang up by a clan of ethnic upstarts and religious bigots marshaled with the funds flowing from the accounts of highly corrupt but disillusioned members of the ruling elite. This group are very upset but the reasons for their anger are based on selfish intentions. There is no better alternative within the PDP opposition or even within the ACN. It is the same bunch that has held the country down since 1970. So i will enjoin the good people of Naijeiriya to stick with the devil you know.
Your last statement is very on point

alaoeri: Old age is fast telling on Anenih for saying spewing that thrash, with the recent development its obvious GEJ primary ticket is shaky Mr fix it wanna do wayo trust the northerners they won't take that poo & let's see how far GEJ 'll go.
Who really are the northerners? There is no such thing as northerner or southerner when it comes to voting. It is not region that counts but individual votes or do you think rigging is still an option. Let's for Gods' sake speak like Nigerians and not sectional or regional bigots.

PoliticsRe: Mimiko, Nwayanwu Fault Video Clips On NGF Election by Ahasco(m): 9:10am On Jun 01, 2013
komekn: Gregg2's ,I am perplexed about the intent and purpose of your observations, I would have called them deductions but they are devoid of rationality, they probably would make some sort of sense in a meeting of the village branch of the NURTW.

The propositions you make are nonsensical in the extreme.

I have watched the 8 minute video and over a 3 hour meeting it was the most relevant part of the meeting and as such that excerpt is precisely relevant and concise. It tells us the nature of the beast that we are dealing with, I do not know if it is possible for the election to have been more transparently free and fair.

Your idea that the party is supreme is not untrue but with reservation, it is the PARTY IDEOLOGICAL STANDPOINT from which policy will and should emerge from that is supreme. Political party Ideology is not the individualistic and the filthy, manipulative, self-seeking corruption led concept of GODFATHERISM which pervades our political landscape and is very much reflective of the ruling PDP.
What is so special about Amaechi being reappointed or dissappointed from being the NGF chairman. Hmm I wonder were some people are going with this. Please fellow Nigerian let's work together and move this great country forward and don't let us draw ourselves backward. I think its important we do what is right and forget about all these bragadocious frivolities.

Why not give your own constructive assessment if you have any. I don't expect you to have any cos your are a constructive critics with no basis for justification!

Frank-C:
I don't really know how to address the concern of a folk who believes that a bullet train can be built in 2 years. Anyway, i will try.

To appraise the performance of a leader, you measure particular indices in some sectors today compared to when he took oath of office. All know economic indices look better today than precisely 2 years ago, from inflation to foreign reserve to debt as a percentage of (even not yet rebaselined) GDP to economy outlook comming from key rating agencies who happen not to be either PDP or ACN members to balance of trade indices to ease of doing business indices etc. You can also look at maternal and infant mortality rate in 2011 compared to today, also fiscal stability to corruption perception index to non oil exports to human right to transparency to accountability. Also take a look at power supply in 2011 compared to today, then you look at electoral process and also equal representation of all sections of the country and also FDI. You can also look at aviation, rail and road networks. ALL are better today compared to 2011.

I think the problem with you ACN people is that you took advantage of Lagos based media to make it look as if every thing is in reverse direction. Your party spokesman even made an embarrassing statement that Nigerian economy is in the verge of collapse. Unfortunately for you, facts are sacred. The people you have told how 'clueless' GEJ is are begining to notice the improvements and you are under pressure to make explanations. The tone has changes from 'he has not done anything' to 'he has not done it like the one in London or Manhattan.

GEJ has done and is doing excellently well from ICT to financials to infrastructure to power to even entertainment. By 2015, we'll see who the clueless ones really are. Clinging to areas that may not be precisely measured like corruption will not help you. You people will soon discover how difficult it is to be corrupt. GEJ is a very smart and quiete man. By 2015, we will see clearer.
You are the most intelligent person that has0ever commented, God bless you. For your outspokeness.
