pryme: Ah no ooo At least Tom Hanks had an Island to start a secluded life, this guy had a small boat with a ferocious Tiger in that small space, the guy was literally living on the edge of the boat (I mean literally), if he gets too far into the middle of the boat he would have been eaten.
It was in Cast Away I learn the true value of companionship, that Wiltord ball made me feel Tom not to feel alone.
Movies like this makes me see how insignificant man is when it comes to the might of the sea. Pi also had an island, a flesh eating island at that. Lol. I'm sure the tiger wouldn't have eaten him if he got close enough cos even the tiger needed a companion, a living one at that. Unlike Tom Hanks who had a non living thing. I hope you know talking to a non living thing border on shore of insanity bro? It's the same way you're relate it yo Will Smith in I Am Legend. Dude had a dog and when the dog died, he went suicidal. Life of Pi and Cast Away aren't the same in anything. Pi didn't lose everything at the end despite all the trouble he faced at sea. Man isn't entirely insignificant when put against the might of the sea. All man need to do is master the sea. Pirates of old virtually live most of their life at sea. They only come to shore when they need to stock up food and water or to hide their stolen treasure. |

Octopusssy: Mr Koontz is very talented in his own way. King and Koontz are my all time favs. I have a whole library of the two writers and I still haven't gone through half their books.
I think the edge Koontz has over King is Dean uses more humour in his writing than Stephen. You should read 'Ticktock'. I guffawed all the way. Then there is 'From the corner of his Eye'. It narrates the travails of a murderous, criminally insane psychopath who thinks the whole world is against him as he flees from justice. Very very funny book. I couldn't put it down for days.
Stephen and Dean are very talented and are at the top of their game, and even though they are both in their late 60s, very few American writers can stand shoulder to shoulder to them.
You should also note that only one Dean Koontz novel has ever been adapted for film- 'Phantoms'. Koontz always wants total creative control of his works, which is why his books hardly made it to the big screen because at some point you have to hands off and allow the producers take liberties that will nearly drive you the creator, insane. Why do you think King hated the film adaptation of 'The Shining'? Hollywood producers butchered the script and made rubbish of the book.
AHC.B, you're a poet. Imagine some people come, pay you for the rights to use your poem in a movie or maybe dramatic presentation in theaters and then go ahead and turn it to a wack, 80's gangster rap. The thought makes you shudder, right?
That's how King felt. Your work is your baby and you won't allow your baby be manhandled by money grubbing philistines, would you? This is why Dean Koontz does not allow his books get to the big screen unless he has total creative control, and we both know that's not going to happen. Book adaptation for movies is very difficult because the stream of consciousness of the characters cannot be replicated on screen. Wow. Now even I can't argue with this. Bravo girl, bravo. |

This is a welcome development. I'll always tell whoever wants to listen and whoever wants to invest, to invest in liquefied petroleum gas aka cooking gas. It is the future. It is safer, it is cheaper, it is more affordable and best of it all, it doesn't make your pot black. Lol. |

Octopusssy: Stephen King is a writer. A super talented one and a literary icon. His mind works in mysterious ways Stephen King isn't as talented as Dean Koontz. Mr Koontz books are on a whole new level, if I didn't know better I'd say the dude is weird. Probably why they haven't made any movie adaptation from his books (to the best of my knowledge). |

pryme: Life Of Pi 7.5/10
this the second time a story of Indian narrative has impressed me after Slumdog Millionaire. That dude had it easy despite his difficult journey. Atleast he didn't lose everything unlike Tom Hanks in Cast Away. Men, I've never felt sorry for anyone like that in my entire life. Even though it was just fiction, I still felt very very sorry for him. It's the very reason why I watched the movie once and couldn't stomach watching it again. Damn!. |

The philosophical undertone in the movie is what I love. The first Punisher movie did it for me. I still wonder why it didn't do well though. I still love: "I leave this as a declaration of intent. Octopusssy: Why on earth will you binge on horror movies?? Your subconscious will definitely regurgitate what you have stuffed with. In my case, I rarely have bad dreams when I watch horror films, but there are a few exceptions. Annabelle was worse than Hereditary, scared me more but did not cause me nightmares. Hereditary did. That film is just plain nasty. Why do you even watch movies if I may ask? |

mekaprime: Are you ware of the news making rounds as regards the Dark Phoenix?? news most marvel fan boys won't never want to admit, even if it was staring right in their faces. Later they'll come and start giving excuses if the movie flops. You'll start reading them say, X-men isn't part of MCU, Sony owns X-men bla bla bla. I just love the way these marvel fan boys have the right excuse for any Marvel movie that flopped. It's the same thing they did with Punisher: War Zone. Though I personally love the movie because I'm a fan of The Punisher. |

If the APC wants to replace the mistake called Bello, they would have anointed a poster boy before the general elections. Owing salaries is the list of APC worries.

JasonScoolari: Whoever is contesting against Bello stands no chance because Bello will have the backing of Federal might. Dino will give him a run for his money in terms of cash and popularity.
Dino is a smart guy, don't rule him out just yet. I doubt the federal government will support Bello in this one. The guy is seriously owing workers salary and even at that, Bello can still lose even if the federal government supports him, it is the people of Kofi state who will vote, not the federal government. We've seen that despite federal might, Wike still won Rivers state. So I won't be surprise if Bello lose this election. |

Hian. This is a direct shot to the senators. I welcome it though, but even Mr Ben Bruce himself reads but still lacks understanding of what he reads. It's why he spends almost all his time on social media rather than visiting his senatorial district and mingling with the people who elected him. I won't be surprise if most of the people in his senatorial district don't have Nairaland account, talkless of Twitter handles or insta gram username. |

dominique: Those LAPO are extra evil. I heard of a tailor who lost her wares despite having about 20k left to finish loan repayment. They just came to her shop one day and carted away goods worth way over the 20k left. It's best not have anything to do with those MFBs if you're a SMSE. Even their staff are suffering, why deduct their salaries because some borrowers defaulted on repayment? That's pure evil that's what they're good at. I believe they do these things to toughen up their stuff. Even their female employees are amazon warriors when it comes to collecting back loans given. I've seen them in action first hand. When they turn on their crase, men its something else. I seriously advice any SMSE to shun these MFB if they're really looking for loan to start up something, they should try getting it from Jaiz bank. Atleast they don't collect interest and they're not ruthless like LAPO and the others. |

mmsen: It's the same in most countries, sadly.
And in China I'm sure there is somebody who has committed similar crimes but they have been protected because they are close to the Chinese Communist Party.
Most legal systems are trash, globally and act to protect some and demonise others. don't get it twisted. In Nigeria he doesn't have to be a member of the ruling party for him to go scut free. The fact that he's a millionaire is reason enough as he can always bribe the judge or look for a frivolous excuse not to go to prison. Rev. King and Ibinabo Faberisima comes to mind. They ain't politicians or members of any political party yet their cases are still pending. This is exactly what money can do for you in this blessed country of ours. You can literally get away with anything. |
