Atk01:Goodness anything over three words is excessive cruelty to my ears ![]() I notice how they pick each word one by one till the whole sentence is disjointed. Thank goodness it's only occasionally. Then when I hear a Kdrama actor break out in perfect Americana English I go It's rare though. |
hilda90:Abeg LMH's English is worse than my Korean can ever be haba ![]() In Secret Garden one woman was trying to speak English to that handsome Action School director. I think she was the one having a crush on him, can't remember. She spoke a sentence or two in English and it was like she was strangling a chicken ![]() Lmao the guy's face was priceless. Maybe because he's a great English speaker. What I don't like is how they'll confidently use English as if they are good with it. And the director will allow it. Soo funny. |
Atk01:Abeg leaf my countrymen jare. They try their best. At least we have an idea what they're saying....sometimes ![]() |
ellab:Omg each time he said anything in English I wanted to gag but he's still bae ![]() Atk01:No matter the practice... There are just some English words Koreans can't naturally pronounce. So unless they were born in US or learned d language very early in life, they'll sound terrible ![]() |
Atk01:I know!!! Remember Lee Min Ho speaking or should I say murdering English in Heirs when he was forming beach stud... Oh my gawd it was painful to hear ![]() |
Atk01:Lmao Jet Li has some good ones from way back... Jackie Chan's classic movies of yesteryear are a treasure... Drunken Master, Monkey Shadow etc. Some are dubbed over in English but I also watch the original subbed versions. I love everything Asian so yeah, I can watch anything. Except maybe those Phillipines or Taiwanese which I agree sound like knocking two big silver spoons together LOL |
Atk01:I honestly LOVE the Chinese language, almost as much as Korean. Chinese and Hong Kong movies are those popular ones everyone watches, like the ones with Donnie Yen or the Hollywood faves like Flying Daggers as well as Crouching Tiger. And generally I admire the freaky special effects and fabulous martial arts in the old and new Chinese movies or series. I've seen so many obscure ones that I'll have to list them one day for you lol they were awesome |
Atk01: ![]() I was just going through the first many pages, was wondering how the whole thread began and I saw that post. And others too. Wow some of you guys have seen so many dramas!!!! Yes not all of them come highly recommended but still you guys try Maybe because I also watch Chinese and Hong Kong movies and dramas that I've not reached my quota for Kdramas. You should check out the backlog of the thread once in a while, it's fun. I know most of my posts were lost during the Nairaland Crash where everything wiped out lol |
Atk01:Remember this post? Lol I put X for ones I've seen. More xes mean how much more I enjoyed them. After a year I still have a long way 2 go in terms of your list ![]() |
Atk01:Aaah, you know your Blood trivia Bravo ![]() |

Imagine telling a guy his fashion makes it look like he's a black and white movie... Or a gangster or a grim reaper ![]() I don't feel bad for Ji Sang though, he gives as good as he gets. Like when he didn't bother trying Yoo Ri ta's cooking because he knew it would be horrible... ![]() |
ellab:You think this pair is annoying? You should see the one he wore when he first met Yoo Ri ta. They were **gosh** Still, come on "creepy"?? That's going too far now ![]() Just noticed his cute smiling face has been my screensaver for months. That's saying something, right ?

Enjoying my kdrama Blood episodes catch up. How can anyone say Ahn Jae Hyun only has one stoic expression He has lots of them! And he has the cutest almost-smile. I hope he has another great drama, maybe a noona romance Episode 12 is hilarious so far...
|
hilda90:Omg lol if you see my face when two American love interests kiss °_° but when it's a Kdrama kiss I go \o/ Lmaoo |
ellab:Ouch and I thought I was mean.. Lmao That strong face of his originated from My Love from Another Star which won him many fans and many future acting roles Kim Soo Hyun used that same look all thru YWCFTS - but I don't see you bashing him *_* Lol Korean actors pretend a lot and can you blame them? If you show you have a thing for your costar you're in trouble from dating rumors. For the sake of future roles, they downplay their attraction for a present or past costar. They can't keep falling for and dating everyone they work with. I think Julia Roberts was known for that ![]() |
hilda90:Never heard of the guy but heard of the drama. Wasn't interested in yet another gender bender so I passed. Min Ho is from kpop group SHINee I gather. Fans said the original was much better so I feel you. Koreans are interestingly, more good looking than the Japanese or at least, their actors are. So the Korean dramas get a whole lot of attention and the Japanese version of same dramas might be better but not as popular. |
Atk01:Ooh I know those. I'm just saying that when it comes to acting she plays more natural when her costar is younger. Not necessarily that the character himself is younger. In Noona romances the guy's character is definitely known to be younger. But in most Kdramas we find female actresses with much younger costar because these chicks can pass for 19 while they're actually twenty years older than that. The chemistry with Ji Chang Wook was insane. So I know she's good when the costar is younger and can follow her lead. |
Atk01:I think she does better with a much younger costar. Don't ask me why lol I just wish they picked a younger guy for this one.. |
hilda90:I would avoid watching that original. Wow you're tough ooo lol it would definitely affect my interest in watching the Korean remake. I don't even want to read about the original... Lmao |
Atk01:Koreans sure know how to do remakes. Like Tomorrow's Cantibile. Heard there's a Japanese or is it Chinese original? I did know BOF originated from Japan. Now looking forward to another Korean remake, of a Taiwanese drama... Ha Ji Won 's upcoming romcom A Time With You. I know she's gonna slay it!!!

Punch- Is this the way you proposed to your wife, speaking high tech grammar? Honourable- Of course, the business of the day when I interfaced with my wife on matters of the heart had to be in plain Caeser’s language and you can decipher why that had to be so. The matter in view did not permit itself of sphinxian conundrum. ........ I read all the farrago of baloneys and vacuous bunkum from pepper soup objurgators.... *** Omg what has pepper soup got to do with any of this again?? Can't breathe for laughing so hard... |
Atk01:Oh yes, I was also thinking of those School 2013,2015 dramas, mixed them up with the Reply dramas. My thoughts, that those dramas were good enough as stand - alone series. Stretching to a sequel might end up badly esp if they can't recreate the glory of the last drama or even surpass it. Heard Americans did a BOF version and it was so bad. The boys they used looked like they were middle aged. The series was really bad and got slammed big time ![]() |
Atk01:Lol, I can't just understand. The drama is over, what next again? The same actors can't be expected to come together again to act a continuation. There might be sequels but involving a new set of actors like those Reply 1998,2015 dramas. There's a drama though I just found about... LET'S EAT. Looks like it now has a Season 2 so maybe you're right there. |
hilda90:I've always secretly thought Bae Suzy and PSY look too much alike. Or at least they remind me of each other somehow lol So maybe ur right... Mr Playa had to get a substitute cos maybe PSY would never play ball and date him ![]() |
hilda90:Not to post spoilers but... That's what he sleeps in. A kind of ice-infused bed bc vampires need to keep up a certain temperature. Imagine a girlfriend risking her health to do a sleepover with Bae in that bed... ![]() |
Atk01:Lol.. Then maybe that's it. She needs major lessons. Now this pic below makes me want to catch up on some Blood time... Fans are already moaning about missing the drama. Why do these pple always ask for a season 2 of a drama they like?? Sooo funny cos I know that's never gonna happen... ![]()
|
ellab:No I just think maybe she's secretly attracted to LMH and is afraid to show it so she ends up with all these nerves that translate her into a dead kiss fish (Lmao it cracks me up to put it like that ![]() |
ellab:@ standing ovation for Wookie... Lol let's give the guy a Kdrama Oscar... ![]() Actually according to the Blood drama AJH's character had never dated or kissed either a human, vampire or dead fish before so they wanted to portray that. Unfortunately he portrayed it TOO well. Bc according to you it might be his first kiss in life ![]() Soo wrong tho cos I hear the guy is dating in real life. Na WA what's so hard about these kissin' scenes def |
Atk01:The directors decide when finally a particular scene will have to do. So if they say the first take is good or go on to the use the 50th take... Wow. Actors are trying. JCW and Ha Ji Won underwater petals kiss... Awww. Sometimes it's not the kiss itself (the actual liplocking) that takes time. It's the other factors like getting the many cameras all synced together at the same time, ensuring the water stays warm all through, fixing the flow of petals to look natural underwater... Lol Dead kiss fishes are no one's fault bc some girls are still forming escaped nuns like PSY. Until she loosens up as a woman she'll always give us dead kiss fishes ![]() I suspect she's always going to be awkward with an actor she secretly finds hot as hell LMAO |
Atk01:No rush.. Will just take a cool day with some four hours to relax and watch during the week. OK so maybe I exaggerated. The kiss took 3 hours to film not 6 ![]() Same difference lol. When you check out this article you'll laugh your head off especially when you read about Park Shin ye and her Rooftop kiss in Heirs. Sometimes I suspect these actors deliberately mess up the kiss scene so they can do it again and again. Especially if le costar is hawt ![]() While some guys can be just mean. Like Gong Yoo in Big kissing Suzy Bae. Read it here:http://www.kdramastars.com/articles/80836/20150407/if-you-dont-get-that-k-drama-kiss-right-try-try-again.htm Your thoughts ??
|
Atk01: ![]() That 6 second kiss took 6 hours to shoot mind you ![]() Now I've really got to finish it lol, and get back to you asap. |
Atk01:Going OK so far... Went more than halfway through. My attention span these days... I saw some so-so reviews about the ending of Blood. But dedicated fans say the drama was daebak overall. Gu Hye sun apologized for her acting. And their first kiss was slammed lol. So basically I've been following all Blood news even though I still have 4-5 more episodes left. Luckily avoided major spoilers... |

I actually don't mind if they say like one or two English words like Hello, please, thank you or bye bye. But when they go like three sentences at once, my ear will start to stand, and I'll be looking for where to hide.

but he's still bae
*feeling like boss*
