Nairaland GeneralMan Enters Guinness For Fastest 50m Walk On Hands (photos) by Aiholi(op): 4:06pm On Oct 15, 2016
A 24-year-old student from China Southwest Normal University, Zhang Shuang, broke the unusual world record for walking 50 meters on his hands with a football between his legs, with a time of 26.09 seconds.

The muscle-bound macho man now plans to take on another Guinness World Record, as he keeps up a tough training schedule to maintain his fitness and physical skills. Zhang has been practicing walking on his hands since 2013, as he heard it was a way of keeping relaxed and relieving stress, at a time when he was under pressure with exams and his studies. The idea of walking on his hands came to him after
he saw on television a 37-year-old challenger
winning the Guinness World Record for the fastest time taken to walk 100 meters on his hands.

Taking inspiration from what he saw, he decided that one day, he would break a similar record himself. Now a senior student in college, the Hulk-like Zhang wakes up early every morning and turns his world upside down, as he practices almost everywhere he can.

The colossal college jock's unusual exercise methods have seen him become a big name on campus, especially with female students, thanks to his rippling biceps and impressive school grades, according to local media.

FamilyWoman Who Gives Birth To Triplet After 17years Shares Her Story. by Aiholi(op): 2:31pm On Oct 15, 2016
https://www.naij.com/1009138-amazing-woman-welcomes-triplet-17-years-marriage-photos.html?source=index_latest

There is a time and season for everything.
No matter what you go through in life, a
time will come when everything will fall
perfectly into place.

For those who are waiting anxiously on God for
one favour or the other, it may seem like an
awfully long wait. It is in the human nature for us to worry and get weary over certain things even though it cannot change anything.

Not being able to give birth in marriage is a
situation that will drive any woman nuts. In this
part of the world where so much pressure is
being laid on women who cannot bear children
for their husbands, you can imagine how
devastated the women will be.

Being childless is a situation that will test and
change anyone’s faith. Only those who are
steadfast and strong enough will get through this ordeal with songs of victory.

The Olagunjus have quite a story to tell since they got married in 1992. They believe God’s love and grace helped them get through that dark phase of their lives. Mrs. Kehinde had a lot of things to say about this period because she felt she was the only one God was not listening to. She was so sure of this because she got married on the same day as her twin sister.

Her twin had no delay as she gave birth to her children without any glitch. During the waiting, she cried, prayed and did everything possible spiritually and medically.

Her husband remained supportive of her because he knew she was not barren. His wife had first taken in in 1996, but she lost the pregnancy.
Whenever anyone asked them about their
childlessness, he was quick to tell them ‘God is in control.’

Mrs. Kehinde had lots of miscarriages; she had 4 corrective surgeries during this period. She
travelled to the UK at some point when she got
pregnant. She eventually lost the baby and
concluded she would never have children of her
own.

17 long years after being joined in holy
matrimony to her husband, Dr. Olagunju, they had the triplet. She and her husband were blessed with three babies at once; 2 girls and a boy. Mrs. Kehinde had encouraged her husband to get married to another woman when the burden was too much for her but he did not. The couple had the babies through assisted
reproductive technology like the inVitro
fertilization. The children were given beautiful
names that speak of God’s love and mercies on the family.

By the time she gave birth to the babies, her twin sister’s first born was already an undergraduate at the university. The delivery was done in Canada; she recalled crying after the cesarean section was done. The doctors cried with her as they glorified God on her
behalf. These children are 6 years old now and
still kicking. This exciting news proofs that God still answers prayers. His ways are totally different from ours, but He will always be a faithful God.

HealthRe: Best Ways To Avoiding The Use Of Glasses And Maintaining A Good Eye Sight by Aiholi(m): 6:42pm On Oct 14, 2016
kayodescrib:
For every personality, a good eye sight can not be exchanged for any other thing in the world. A man can perform averagely well with some other parts of his body affected but definitely not with his/her eyes in a bad condition.

The use of glasses is not a crime neither is it a disease but it is better avoided if one hasn't fallen victim of it. Though there are corrective measures for putting bad eye sight to the right position but prevention they say is better that cure.

It has been recorded that age is possible to cause of eye defects for aged people but to reduce the complication this article will be best for us.

A stroll away from this, I will like to point out the fact that for you to excel as a student in whatever level of education you are, good eye sight is greatly required.

I happened to witness a classmate who had a bad eye sight and as a result could hardly see the board while writing and is also restricted from night reading and so on.

The best way to enjoy studying is maintaining a perfect sight. Admissions are beginning to come in and these are little but crucial issues we need to look into if we must excel.

The question at the peak of your mind now will be what causes eye defects? Sure it doesn't just burst out of the thin air so what is the source. Below I will be highlighting some causes of eye defects and I will like you to patiently read through them.

1. Close eye contact with phones, laptops/computers,televisions etc

2. Close eye contact with bright light rays eg sun, bulbs etc.

3. Close eye contact with fire or smokes

4. Eye rubbing

5. Straining the eye to read from afar

6. Over stressing the eye when it needs rest

7. Excessive consumption of cold water or garri etc.

This is just few amongst the things that can damage the eyes, I would have love to go through them one by each but I will not due to some things.

To be candid with yourself you will admit that you are guilty of engaging in some of these things listed and what you say is "shaybi its not affecting me " look, continue and see the shocker that life brings.

Rome was not built in a day, so is this issue, it is a gradual thing, it weakens the eye gradually.

The way out is what I will run through in few paragraphs. To overcome eye defect, the best thing is to

1. Avoid the above listed things that causes it,

2. Take yeast,

3. Take locust beans(the unsalted one)

4. Take the following well,

• Green, leafy vegetables such as spinach, kale, and collards,Salmon, tuna, and other oily fish,Eggs, nuts, beans, and other non-meat protein sources,Oranges and other citrus fruits or juices and Oysters and pork. Etc.

5. Do not use recommended glasses if you are not diagnosed to.

Other eye defect preventive measures you know can also be employed.

Good sight is good,
Don't be a victim of blindness.

Nairaland GeneralBaby Survives Risky Open Heart Surgery At Just Four Days Old. by Aiholi(op): 4:06pm On Oct 14, 2016
A baby boy has been described as a "warrior" by his family after surviving risky open heart surgery at just four days old. Little Reggie Aslin, who was born with half a heart, offered a pout for the camera after he emerged from the operation with a huge scar down his chest and tubes in his nose.

He has finally been allowed to go home after
spending the first six weeks of his life in hospital.
Reggie was born with hypoplastic left heart
syndrome, a rare defect which means the right half of his heart doesn't exist.

FoodGas Explosion: Causes, Symptoms, Preventions by Aiholi(op): 12:19pm On Oct 14, 2016
We occasionally learn of gas explosions in the
news, whether it be at a private residence or
place of business. Often times the structure is left in ruins. Too often human lives are lost. Some explosions affect large surrounding areas – not just the home where the explosion originated.

A gas explosion occurs when there is a gas leak in the presence of a spark or flame. Gases such as natural gas, methane, propane and butane are the most common types of gases to cause explosions because they are commonly used for heating purposes.

Some gas explosions are minor, with the increase in pressure not generating enough force to damage anything, while other gas explosions can cause injury, damage to property, even death.
.

CAUSES

*Improper use of gas furnaces, stoves or other
gas appliances.
*Gas appliances that have been poorly or
incorrectly installed.
*Old, rusty gas lines or ones that are damaged
that run from the street into your home. *Defective gas-operated equipment.
*Faulty manufacturing of gas tanks in cars or
trucks.
*Using old or second-hand appliances

SYMPTOMS

*The most common sign is the smell of gas(rotten egg)
*Always look for a crisp blue flame, rather than
an orange or yellow flame.
*Likewise, look out for a pilot light that always
seems to blow out.
*On the outside of the appliance watch out for
soot or any black or brown scorched areas
around your appliances.
*Watch out for excessive condensation on the
windows, or a musty smell in the air.

PREVENTION

*Always make sure they are installed by an
accredited Gas Safe Register engineer.
*Make sure you check them on a regular basis for signs of wear and tear.
*You should also keep an audible carbon monoxide alarm in your home.
*Avoid smoking, using matches or burning any naked flames (e.g. candles) near the gas.
*Turn off the gas completely after every use.

CrimeFour killed, Others Injured As Customs Officers Go On Rampage In Lagos by Aiholi(op): 9:22pm On Oct 13, 2016
At least four persons were Thursday feared killed and three others injured after some trigger-happy Nigerian Customs Service (NIS) operatives went berserk.

The incidents occurred at Moshalashi and
Kola Bus Stops at Alagbado and Ajegunle in Alakuko. It was gathered that the Customs operatives, allegedly attached to the Federal Operations, were chasing some rice smugglers while they suddenly started shooting sporadically in the crowded areas.

The four persons, who were said to have been hit by stray bullets, were commercial motorcyclists. Among them, The Nation gathered, was a 25-year- old identified as Saheed, whose wife was said to be pregnant. It was gathered that the operatives who rode on four patrol vehicles, took one of the victims as they fled.

They were said to have injured about three other persons who were taken to an undisclosed hospital. It was gathered that the Customs operatives while fleeing, threatened to shoot policemen from Alakuko Division, who attempted to stop them.
A resident who hinted on the incident said that the officers acted as though they were drunk. He said:
“It was around 7am. I was inside my house
and suddenly I started hearing gunshots. I looked through the window to see what was happening and people were running. I saw about four Customs vehicle and the officers were just shooting anyhow.
“Later, I heard they were chasing rice smugglers but all the people they killed were Okada riders.
Bullet hit one on the stomach; another person was hit on the leg and another one on the hand. About four people died. Blood was everywhere and the Customs men escaped.”

The Nation gathered that residents of the area soon took to the streets in protest against the operatives.
They were said to have vandalised several
properties and burnt tyres on the major roads to ground vehicular movements. Commercial motorcyclists were said to have attempted to raze an Oando gas station, where the Customs officers usually stayed but they were stopped by policemen led by the Rapid Response
Squad (RRS) Commander, Tunji Disu, an Assistant
Commissioner of Police (ACP).

Efforts to get the Customs’ spokesman, Uche
Ejesieme’s reaction on the issue failed at the time of filing this report. Contacted, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Dolapo Badmos, a Superintendent
(SP) said one person was killed.
She said:
“Some Custom officials were on the trail of
a vehicle, in the process they went berserk and
started shooting. One passerby was shot to death around Ajegunle in Alakuko. A patrol team led by the DPO of Alakuko Division, moved to the area to douse the tension.
“They fired sporadically and escaped from the
scene. The dead body was evacuated to morgue. Investigation is ongoing.”

The Zonal Secretary, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, Nasarawa South, Nasarawa State, Jaafaru Usman, on Thursday said 21 cows had been killed by thunder at Ashige in Lafia East Development Area of the state.

Usman told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Lafia that the thunder stroke on Tuesday morning during a downpour killing all the 21 cows belonging to a herdsman, Malam Bature Lere.

He appealed to the state Government, authorities of the Lafia East Development Area and public spirited individuals to assist Lere who lost all his cows to the thunder.

“I am appealing to Gov. Umaru Al-Makura to assist this man who lost all his cows to the disaster,” he said.

He, however, advised the herdsman to regard the incident as an act of God and pray for a better future.

Mr Tijani Abubakar, a staff of Veterinary Services Department, Nasarawa State Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources, also confirmed the incident and described it as “a natural phenomenon’’.

Abubakar, who said that he was delegated to assess the incident, sympathised with the herdsman, and assured that he would take his report to the appropriate quarters.

Narrating his ordeal, Lere said the incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday during a downpour.

He said that the cows were all that he had and appealed to the state government and well meaning individuals to come to his aid. (NAN)
