Family / Re: Extortion In The Name Of Aso Ebi by aikorodo(m): 7:02am On Sep 12, 2019
Take this simple solution to the problem of ashebi. 1. Manage and cough out money for iether her own alone or for both of you this time. 2. Sit down together with her and tell her how much you hate ashebi and equally tell her that every matter concerning ashebi is dead and buried in your house from today. 3. Tell her (if you want to accommodate her a little) that if she want ashebi again that she should foot the bill for her own 100%. Bro., as for for me, I have a long time marked it bad. I cannot even wear it even if my father dies. It's equally a borrowed culture. If not for fun fare I do not see the value it adds. As we talk, I have tutored my wife on how bad I hate it and so it's no longer a discussion between us. She herself these days has equally become is selective. She now sow on her own anyone that is so dear to her.

Politics / Re: Those Who Believe That President Buhari Is Jubril From Sudan, Aren't Foolish by aikorodo(m): 9:21am On Nov 27, 2018
I don't understand what the writer is saying here. I was thinking he wants to debunk all the proves by Nnamdi Kanu. So Mr writer, President Buhari is a public Figure and therefore should be accountable to Nigerians; no matter how stupid the allegations are, make out time to disprove them instead of telling us how inappropriate the origin of the story is. Leave the messenger and take the massage!

Nairaland / General / Those Rejoicing About The N30,000 Minimum Wage Are Crazy by aikorodo(m): 1:01pm On Nov 06, 2018
Though it's a long time I started suspecting that there is something wrong with the brain of an average African man; but the outburst of some people this morning that Buhari should continue in power upon hearing that the Federal Government of Nigeria has reluctantly agreed to the N30,000 minimum wage demand by the Labour unions goes to confirm to me that the assertion may not be far from the truth. These people indeed were so happy and enthusiastic that the best has happened. To say the least, this is callous and absolutely nonsensical for any civil servant to be happy with a minimum wage of N30,000 which when taxed with PAYE, 7.5% contribution pension plus NHF etc. cannot take the recipient home at the end of the day. Are these people's brain so shallow to have forgotten in a hurry all the insincerities on the part of government and back and forth that trailed this agreement. We should not loose cognizance of the fact that the Nigerian constitution calls for the review of the nations minimum wage after a stipulated number of years which is long overdue. When the unions (as a result of so much hardship in the land occasioned by bad rulership by the APC led government) pushed for a review, the Federal Government reluctantly set up a tripartite committee since last year. The committee engaged in an endless rigmarole that was targeted at buying of time for lack of willingness to bring the desired change. Mind you it was the insincerity on the part of this government that led to the brief warning strike last month. People should be reminded that at the end of the day this government of deceit and lies denied ever reaching any agreement that they hard with the labour unions. It was the aftermath of this that would have culminated into the mother of all strikes that labour unions and civil society groups planned to begin today. So tell me, if not for lack of sound mind, is there any other reason why someone who is truly in control of himself and wants to be truthful to himself should be demanding that this administration whose only stuck in trade is destructions in all shades, causing pains, wasting precious life's and properties etc. should be called to continue. Maybe to continue to perpetuate evil and pain which is their only life wire?

Career / Re: Do You Believe In Luck? by aikorodo(m): 9:28pm On Jun 10, 2013
I thank jarus for d topic today. I equally appreciate d contrbutions of Nairalanders on this. My
Candid opinion is that weather you call it luck, devine favour, grace, providence etc we are almost referring to d same thing, in that we are acknowledging d existence of an unusual and unnatural hand/force. As for me there is luck, grace etc. And it controls everything that humans do. Take it or leave it one can be sleeping and at d right time be woken up and indirectly guided to d gate to meet his destiny waiting for him. Or how else can you explain why an indigent, poor boy could b picked up in a crowd during campaign/rally and b given scholarship. The bible made us to understand that 'I will have mercy upon whom I will have mercy'.

If u dont hav meaningful contributions, jump n pass and wait to learn from better informed persons. Lets make this forum more responsible. It should be a place were depressed, troubled and heavy ladened friends should come for matured advice n relief. An issue like childlessness in a home deserves better treatment than this. We can actually give relief to somebody thru this. Pls brethren like me in this predicament, pray n wait upon d lord. And if adoption can save d situation, pls do.

Louis88: But seriously this govt is working. Let's shun sentiments. In every area of governance they hve something going on. I feel the subsidy withdrawal thing gave them a bad name. The policy was just ill timed. Aside the subsidy thing, they look impressive. Railways that have been forgotten for ages are being revived. See new metro line tracks under construction. Power is a bit stable more than before. GEJ might just be it finally
. This GEJ is actually in control oo. He said it dat before 2013 there will b positive confessions, and within 2012 before even 2013 9aigerians have started to prove him right. Onu kwuru njo ga ekwuriri mma. Ride on my action and silent perfomer.
