Nigeria's first Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan has, today, urged the nations voters to giver her husband a second chance and give him another term.


Dame Patience said Nigerian women should show appreciation to Jonathan by voting for him as he has been gender sensitive by appointing women into key political offices.

She said this during a two day national conference on women and 2015 election in Abuja.

The conference themed: "Making a Difference," was organized by the Independent National Electoral Commission, the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development and the United Nations Development Project (UNDP).

The Minister of Water Resources, Sarah Ochekpe had represented the First Lady and said that women in the country should make time and resource to organize more chances for policy makers to contribute their quota to nation’s economic and political growth.

Ochekpe also asked the National Assembly to implement the national policy for the benefit of the female gender.

President Jonathan faces off stiff challenge from the All Progressive Party if he will get to spend another term as president of the nation.

Now, the above letter just hit my email box. And I thought I should share a thought or two for the benefit of those who don't know why we are doing what we are doing.

Now, in this zone, there are twelve groups plus the zonal church. The twelve groups will give a total sum of N120,000,000.00 and the zonal church will give N100,000,000.00 making a total of N220,000,000.00 (equivalent of approximately USD $1.3 million dollars). Let us assume every zone in Nigeria alone gives $1 million dollars each, about $30 million dollars will accrue to one man. Ghana will give big, SA will not lag behind et cetera.

Tell me why the man will not play God? This is aside the personal effects that will be sold on that day for tens of millions of dollars. Why should such a man admit to wrongdoing or take correction from a mere mortal? It can only take God to bring him to his kneels.
 
Ironically, those being fleeced of these monies are suffering and shouting hallelujah while our apostles live in flagrant luxury. Some businesses have grounded, homes broken, people pauperized because of these ungodly extortions. Giving is a Godly principle that works for Christian, pagans, Muslims, Buddhists, anyone and anywhere. But these manipulated exploitation of God's people is certainly not of God.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, how many times did Jesus celebrate his birthday? Okay, birthday was not in vogue then. We knew some people WILLINGLY ministered to Him of their substances. But how many times did Jesus call for donations or give his disciples targets to meet to enable Him run His ministry? Oh, I forgot, Jesus was too divine for such.

Then, can someone show me which of the apostles or disciples that did it? All the doctrines of giving that is enforced in this ministry are borrowed from the old testament. When it concerns money, old testament is applied. But when it concerns righteousness, you are reminded that old testament have been abolished. That is why every iniquity they commit are explained away in the concept of sin.
 
As I explained in my book Acts Of Our Apostles, one of the major reasons most African nations are poor is the rate at which our churches mop up money from circulation. The already poor people are dispossessed of their meagre incomes to the tune of billions of dollars every year, not to be invested in any beneficial project for them, but to provide luxury and thin god status for the pastors. Offer 7, Offer 1,2,3 to 31 are all avenues for filthy lucre. Any endeavour that has no benefits to mankind is futile"

The Federal Government on Monday unveiled top 100 companies in Nigeria for the 2014 fiscal period.

Dangote Group, Chevron, MTN, First Bank Plc, Nigerian Breweries Plc, and Flour Mills made the list.

The government said the Top 100 Companies Award, the first in the history of the country fixed for December 1, was aimed at encouraging performing companies to further contribute to the economy in more significant ways.

The Chief Executive Officer, Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, and Chairman of the selection committee, Mr. Jim Obaze, made the announcement while briefing journalists in Abuja about the award.

Interestingly, he said a lot of companies sprang surprises by making it to the top 100.

Some of these companies, according to him, are Dolphin Foods, Chi-Group, Mamuda Industries, Eko Supreme, Indorama Eleme Petrochemical Limited, Elizade Nigeria Limited, APN Terminal, UAC Plc, Bolawole Enterprises and Wemco Metal Products.

Obaze said the committee considered a lot of criteria based on international best practices before the companies were “carefully” selected.

He said the celebration of these companies would promote business enterprise in Nigeria, foster socio economic development and improve the general well-being of Nigerians.

Some of the criteria, he said, were the amount of turnover; level of investment in the country, and number of jobs so far created in the economy.

Others were the impact that the companies had had in the community, level of corporate governance and the amount of investments they planned to make in the nearest future, he added.

He said, “In looking at the top 100 companies, there are international benchmarks as set by the International Integrated Reporting Council.

“There are five of such benchmarks; the first one is to look at the strategic focus of the organisation. You look at the connectivity of information which is the second benchmark.”

He also said the group looked at taxes paid over a period of time; the employment opportunities generated and the level of investment in Nigeria as well as their contribution in area of social responsibility.

He said since the private sector companies were creating wealth and jobs for the economy, they should be honoured for believing and investing in Nigeria.

Security agents has locked out the embattled Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal, as he made to enter the National Assembly.

Also affected by the lock out were other lawmakers, including senators and members of the House of Representatives.

However, Tambuwal abandoned his vehicle after several minutes and walked the distance from the gate to the chambers.
Other lawmakers did the same.

But as the lawmakers were entering the chambers, policemen released teargas, throwing the arena into confusion.
Lawmakers, journalists and workers of the National Assembly scampered for safety.

Tambuwal was the target of attack of the policemen who released the teargas. He took to his heels as the teargas was released.

Following this report, Information as revealed by TVC News has revealed the Senate President has shut down the National Assembly.

The spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress, Lai Mohammed, has confirmed to journalists at the APC secretariat in Abuja that security operatives have prevented the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, from gaining entrance into the National Assembly Complex.

"I spoke with speaker Aminu Tambuwal five minutes ago and he confirmed to me that he has been locked out of the
National Assembly complex at the second gate," Mr.
Mohammed said.

The APC spokesperson also said while Mr. Tambuwal is
disallowed from entering the complex, his deputy, Emeka
Ihedioha, is already in the chamber.

"The Speaker reconvene the House at the instance of the
President who wrote a letter to the Speaker asking for an
extension of the state of emergency in three states and now
he is being ambushed and not allowed in, it is a sad
development for our country

"There must be limit to impunity and we are being ridiculed
in the eyes of the world."

Two children, aged four and two, lost their lives in a fire that gutted their apartment at Kabong area of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The kids were said to have been locked in a room by their mother, Talatu, a local beer seller in the area, who allegedly left them for an unknown destination till 2a.m. on Monday, when she returned to find her apartment burnt.

The mother of the deceased children could not be reached at press time, but a neighbour who did not want to be named, described the incident as sad.

The neighbour said: "Talatu abandoned the children in her room and went to confront her fiance, who had suddenly picked another lady to marry.

"She lit a candle before leaving. But before she returned, the candle had burnt low and lit the mattress. The children got burnt without anyone knowing."

One of the children died in the inferno, while the other who was rushed to the hospital also gave up the ghost.

A Yoruba Nollywood artiste, Mr. Kunle Mac-Tokunbo
popularly known as Dejo, suddenly began to vomit blood
at a movie location in Abule-Egba area of Lagos State.

According to Daily Sun report, Dejo was on location with other artistes for the shooting of a new movie entitled 'Igbo
Sambisa', and when it was his turn to act his role, he suddenly began to bleed.

He was said to have bled profusely from his nose, so much that his shirt, which was used to check the flow was fully soaked in blood.

His nose was blocked with cotton wool and he had to be breathing through the mouth.

The cast and crew members had to suspend the shooting of the movie and rushed him to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Ikeja, where he is receiving treatment.

According to a family source, before Dejo went to the film location, he had earlier attended a political rally of Governor Ibikunle Amosun where he was attacked by some thugs.

Speaking on the phone, Dejo explained that he had sustained an internal injury, which he did not treat on time, because he thought it was a minor pain in the nostril.

He added that he had had to go for the film shooting because he had a role in the production.

Dutse - Jigawa State command of Nigeria Security and Civil
Defense Corps, NSCDC, has arrested 30-year-old Umar
Mohammed of Sakwaya village in Dutse Local Government
Area for breaking into people's homes to rape their wives.

According to NSCDC, the accused person confessed that he
specialized in breaking into people's houses in the area at
midnight to forcibly rape housewives.

Commandant of the Corps, Dr. Muhammad Gidado, who
disclosed this while parading the man before the press in his office yesterday, said he had received several complaints about late night rape cases.

He told newsmen that the suspect had admitted to jumping
through perimeter fencing to break into homes, not to steal,
but to rape women.

The commandant said since the accused person confessed
to the crime, it made their job easier, adding that the
suspect would be arraigned in court on completion of
investigation into the matter.

According to him, "Nokia isn't looking to a direct consumer return to handsets".. Nonetheless, He did add that Nokia "will return to the consumer world".

Publisher of Ovation International Magazine, Dele Momodu, has taken to his social media page to question Nigerians especially the leaders about the missing Chibok girls.

The Magazine publisher posted a picture of a mother with placard with the inscription; “Day 214 of Abduction, 219 Chibok School Girls, 41 Days to Christmas, 48 Days to New Year #Bring Back Our Gils Now,” with the caption, is anyone really looking for our missing girls and do we truly care for their terrible plight!!!

After posting the question, fans of the publisher responded with some having a sound suggestion of what might have happened to the girls. Some asked if there are truly any missing girls, while some see it as suicidal for anyone wanting to bring them back.

Another suggestion says what if the missing girls have become suicide bombers, should the need of bringing them come up?

It would be recalled that on the night of 14–15 April 2014, about 276 female students were kidnapped from the Government Secondary School in the town of Chibok in Borno State, Nigeria. Responsibility for the kidnappings was claimed by Boko Haram, an Islamic Jihadist and terrorist organization based in northeast Nigeria.

On 17 October 2014, hopes were raised that the 219 remaining girls might soon be released after the Nigerian army announced a truce between Boko Haram and government forces. The announcement coincided with the six-month anniversary of the girls' capture and followed a month of negotiations mediated in Saudi Arabia by Chadian president, Idriss Deby.

The announcement was, however, met with doubts because it wasn't the first time the Nigerian government had claimed a breakthrough in negotiations with the Islamic militant group – it had to backtrack on a previous announcement in September after saying the girls had been released and were being held in military barracks.

Boko Haram militants have seized the north-eastern Nigerian town of Chibok, the home of more than 200 schoolgirls the insurgents kidnapped in April, residents who fled have told the BBC.

Militants attacked and took control of the town, in Borno state, on Thursday evening, residents said.

The militants have repeatedly targeted villages around Chibok over recent months.

Boko Haram says it is fighting to create an Islamic state in Nigeria.

A senator for Borno state, Ali Ndume, told the BBC Hausa service that security forces posted in the town ran away when the insurgents attacked.

Residents told the Sahara Reporters news website that the militants headed to the centre of Chibok and declared that they were taking it over as part of their caliphate.

An unnamed man has landed in trouble in Onitsha, Anambra State after he was accused of having marathon sex with a woman who was carrying 7 month pregnancy and who died after the act.

According to a report published by the Vanguard newspaper on Friday, 14 November, 2014, the police in Anambra State are interrogating the accused to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of the late pregnant woman.

It was gathered from a police source that the young man had allegedly taken the deceased to an undisclosed hotel in Onitsha, only for the hotel staff to discover that the woman was dead in the morning.

The incident, the source said, occurred on Tuesday when the man allegedly checked into the hotel with the heavily pregnant woman, only to find out in the morning that his partner could not wake up on Wednesday morning.

Though the police in Onitsha Area Command refused to give details on the incident, a resident of the area said the suspect and the deceased were just love birds.

He said the suspect had lodged into the hotel room and invited the deceased through a phone call.

The source further faulted rumours that the woman died as a result of charms made by her husband, adding that it was possible that the woman died of exhaustion from the marathon sex romp.

He urged the police to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.

Meanwhile, the corpse of the victim is said to have been deposited in an undisclosed mortuary in Onitsha by the police because the relative of the deceased has not been identified.

Confirming the incident, the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Uche Ezeh, said the command received the information concerning the incident, disclosing that the suspect had been arrested and case transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department, SCID, Awka, for further investigations.

The All Progressives Congress has said that the ruling
Peoples Democratic Party has ruined Nigeria in its 16 years
of governing the country.

The National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-
Oyegun, who said this at an event to mark the six-year
anniversary of the Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole,
in Benin, explained that the country had come under
hardship in the hands of the Federal Government.

Oyegun lamented that the security situation in the country's
North-East region had continued to worsen by the day
despite the presence of the nation's armed forces.

He said, "Today, the country is being destroyed by the totally clueless, totally purposeless and totally lost PDP.

"The whole town of our Chief of Defence Staff, and Mubi
were taken without a single shot being fired.

"The insurgents just walked into Mubi because on political
instruction, it seemed that there was no attempt to defend
Mubi."

He commended the state governor for facilitating development in a state which, he said, had suffered neglect
under the 10-year leadership of the PDP in the state.

"We are sure the APC is going to win the federal elections in
February 2015. I want to tell you the APC will form the next
government of this nation, Nigeria," he added.

On his part, the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola
Tinubu, accused the PDP-led Federal Government of starving the APC states of funds, with the purpose of hindering development.

He also faulted the Federal Government's attitude towards
the security challenges in the country and the sufferings of
the people in the North-East.

He said that President Goodluck Jonathan had shown that he was insensitive to the plight of the people of Potiskum in
Yobe State, who recently lost 46 students to insurgency, by
"stepping on their blood and dancing on their graves" when
he declared his intention to contest the next year's presidential election on Tuesday.

"A wise President will stay in the Villa, make the broadcast of his intention to run in the memory of those children.

"He is saying that he will not step on the blood of anybody to be re-elected but he is dancing on their blood.

"No leadership of any nation will sit idle and watch any part of his own territory being taken away by the so-called insurgents.

"Mubi is the second largest commercial town in Adamawa State. If it has been taken by the insurgents, then Mr. President should resign. The bragging of the PDP is empty
brag, is a lie, PDP is a peoples destruction party, is a poverty
development party," Tinubu said.

The former governor of Lagos State also described the Independent National Electoral Commission as a siamese twin to the PDP, accusing it (INEC) of creating zero polling units to rig the 2015 general elections instead of creating polling booths close to the voters.

Also speaking, a national leader of the party, Chief Audu Ogbeh, said that he left the PDP because the party had been turned into a "mafia" and had failed in also sectors in the
country.

On his part, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, assured the people that the APC would sweep out the ruling PDP next year because the current political system in the country was malfunctioning.

Luis Suarez has defended his history of biting players in
matches by insisting it is "relatively harmless".

The forward received a four-month ban from competitive
football for biting Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup and only made his debut for new club Barcelona late last month.

The lengthy Fifa ban was because of his history of biting
players, something very few other professional footballers
have ever been caught doing - the incident with Chiellini was
the third time in the past five years that the Uruguayan has
been caught attacking an opposition player with his teeth.

Although Suarez admitted he could see why people are
scared about being bitten, he compared his own moments
of madness favourably to when boxer Mike Tyson
infamously bit off part of Evander Holyfield's ear.

"They treated me like a criminal," he admitted in his
autobiography, which Marca published part of on
Wednesday. "[But] it was my fault.

"It was the third time something like that happened to me
and I needed help, although I was an easy target.

"Biting scares a lot of people, but it's relatively harmless, or
at least it was in the incidents I was involved in.

"None of my bites were like Mike Tyson's on Evander
Holyfield, but nobody cares about that."

Suarez made his unofficial debut for Barca in the Gamper Trophy back in the summer and he has revealed his head coach compared the striker's sentence to that of a high-
security terrorism prisoner in Cuba.

"'They've finally released him from Guantanamo Bay to be with us,'" the 27-year-old claimed Luis Enrique said after the match. "Everyone applauded the newly-released prisoner and I tried not to blush."

Suarez was linked heavily with Arsenal last year but, ultimately, Liverpool clung on to the former Ajax forward for one final season. He conceded that the decision was made in part because Steven Gerrard convinced him that a bigger club from abroad would want him sooner or later.

"He was spot on," the striker said of the Anfield skipper. "He
said: 'Stay, play well for Liverpool, and Bayern, Real Madrid or Barca will soon come calling, because you're good enough to play anywhere.'"
