2. Engine had been disassembled previous (in nigeria with owners knowledge) and as at when it was brought in was rattling, and had misfires.

3 vehicle came in dec very close to the festive period.

4. Fans had been connected directly

Rattling suggest mechanical damage, very common with failure of the oil cooler at the base of the engine.

Possible parts affected are.

* Crank shaft and bearings
* camshafts

Previous repair history unavailable.


2gr-fe engine, coolant capacity is over 6liters of coolant.

Toyota coolant comes in 4liter packs. 22,000 is for 2gallons of toyota coolant @ 11,000 per gallon.

I still stand by my diagnosis that and engine replacement is the best solution "LONG TERM" that a vehicle starts and moves, does not mean it is sound. I do not believe in patch here today and patch here tomorrow.

Next time when you have an issue where you require a technician to cool down and detect and fix your car, then avoid financially well establised technicians(at least I'm certain of here in naija).

Most of them already have a long list of clients(fans), who are lining up to pay them large for more routine fixes and it's unlikely they'll now be interested in tying down their time and energy on your more tasking issue for less pay even. You'll most likely hear the easiest solution to the mech(ie, change engine or geearbox) as opposed to solutions that might favor you the customer(ie detect and fix issue)
