Politics / Re: What Lord Lugard Had To Say About Hausa, Yoruba And Igbo by Airforce1medic(m): 2:40pm On Jun 13, 2017
Giantslayer:
LUGARD'S DUAL MANDATE ON NIGERIAN TRIBES
1922...( Copied from Mathew Mbanaja"s wall)

*The handover notes Lord Lugard wrote to his colleague, Walter H. Lang, on the 25th of September 1918. The quote reads inter alia:*

HAUSA
The Hausa-Fulani has no ideals, no ambitions save such as sensual in character. He is a fatalist, spendthrift and a gambler. He is gravely immoral and is seriously diseased that he is a menace to any community to which he seeks to attach himself.

YORUBA
Lagos has for 20 years opposed every Governor and has formented strife and bloodshed in the hinterland…, I have spent the best part of my life in Africa; my aim has been the betterment of the natives for whom I have been ready to give my life. But after some 29 years, and after nearly 12 years as Governor here, I am free to say that the people of Lagos and indeed the westerners are the lowest, the most seditious and disloyal, the most purely prompted by self-seeking money motives of any people I have met.

IGBO
These people of predominantly Eastern Nigeria are fiercely rebellious with no regard for authority. Though industrious and religious, in deference to the objectives of her majesty and the crown, they are highly dangerous to be trusted with.

Hit it miss

hmm!with the present occurences and events happening in our present day nigeria i'm left with no other option rather than to agree to the above statements of lord lugard.

Romance / Re: What Is The Dirtiest, most Disgusting Thing Someone Has Done Beside You? by Airforce1medic(m): 11:06am On Jun 13, 2017
stephleena:
lol,due to my profession, I get to see disgusting stuffs each day, like a patient, who had neck injury..early this morning, instead of the dirty man,to ask for help,or I get something for him to pour out his saliva, he just sat down, after clearing his throat and all the coughing, dripping out the dirty saliva from his mouth, which ended on the collar around his neck, and he was so unrepentant..
hmmm!seems you're a nurse,right?

Nursing is an amazing profession and it has changed a lot about my perceptions of life and my lifestyle well. One of the reasons I wanted to be a nurse was because I wanted to learn about caring for myself and my family. Nursing has helped me achieve that. Knowing what everyone's' baseline is, knowing what's abnormal and knowing when to go to the doctor. Even for me, I understand my health a lot better. My relationship with the doctor changed from going and waiting for the doctor to ask me questions so he/she can figure out what's wrong, to going to the doctor with information about what happened, medications I have tried, and even what I think/know what is wrong. Sometimes you just walk into the doctors office and specifically ask him/her to order tests or prescribe medication. It's just awesome.
well said.

Nursing students...... where art thou? Or are people not considering the nursing profession?
am here!though am still considering going into the nursing field but this issue of stereotypes associated to the male nurses is what weakens my spirit but nevertheless i'll and hope 2 get over it.
