Are they ad wasteful as you are upfront?
Below is our top striker's numbers that the ministers of defence will not expose. Add this to Sterling and Mudrik's impotence in the box, then you will understand why we are Palmer's PLC and embedded at the middle of the table.

Strictly on football.

The list is long if I start. From Morata to Belotti that he tagged top 10 in the world to Fraudiola that he blasted in the past to Sterling that he called useless but later started supporting because of my criticisms. Forget.

Man city and Newcastle conceded 33 goals last season, but what gave Man city the Epl trophy and not Newcastle? Your guess is as good as mine.

Haaland and Mbappe are collecting salaries of 3 defenders each in a week, for a reason. Dey play.

With one good CB and maybe Fofana becoming more fit we'll go back to the last few seasons of our defense becoming strong, maatsen might be back to replace either cucu or chilwell if he's not getting sold but we'll probably have to get at least two good forwards which includes a striker since nkunku is injury prone. Murdyk really disappointed me, I've not rested in the hands of arsenal fans in my hood's viewing centre everytime they bring up how we hijacked the deal.
Teams like Sheffield and Burnley are truly meant to be flogged away with goals but the more our attack's missed chances continued to keep them in the game the more they had the belief to penetrate our fragile defence.
From Bebeto-Romario era to RO-RI-RO to MSN's, attack is the best form of defence.

I believe getting a good CB to partner with Colwill/Fofana/Silva can be ok for next season. We don't need to waste funds on defence when we don't have a striker, not to talk of 2, needed to challenge well.

We need to make and keep Palmer happy next season, with better finishers in his front. There's no reason for Sterling's stay.

Lol. I understand that you played as a centre forward, but abeg nau..

We had less than two minutes to keep a lead and we lost two headers in and around the box from a routine long ball.

Abeg nau.

The attack Is poor but check the goals scored section now vs last season and compare to the top 10.

The defence is fine but we've conceded a record number of goals for Chelsea in the PL era with 6 games to go.

Abeg nau. Just let this thing go.
grin

Well, football has changed and those teams we used funds to bully to submission are now getting decent players to rub shoulder with the big guns. So it's left for the big teams to go one step ahead, just as City did by adding quality and depth in their attack.

Few years ago, we beat this Sheffield 4-1, Abraham and Werner scored. This year, our striker, Jackson, couldnt shoot at their keeper in 90 mins. Even United's striker, Hojlund, scored against their terrible defence. If we had beaten them 3-2 or 4-2, we won't be here discussing this ish. When last did we discuss our 3-2 victories over Luton and Newcastle, blaming our defenders?

We have accepted our fate in the defence, as Colwill and other better defenders have been sidelined, so let the attackers do their jobs as they are served big chances to outscore the opponents. If they can't do that then that's a bigger problem as we have even small teams now with decent attackers unlike in the 2000s that you were referring to.

Not when we haven't declared bankruptcy, would I think Aston Villa would have a better striker than Chelsea.

When you have a terrifying attack, your opponents would beg for draw by going defensive and your defence will not be under constant attacks - lesser goals conceded. But when your striker can't score and he easily gets dispossessed, you will concede goals even to Abia warriors FC.

Get 2 natural finishers, City have them. That should be our standard and not copy regressed Man UTD.

I want my old Chelsea back with quality strikers, and not getting bothered conceding 2 goals against Sheffield.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by airmark(m): 11:54pm On Apr 24, 2024
Just as Madrid outscored Barca 3-2 and we didn't see Madridstas cursing Rudiger and other defenders, for conceding 2 goals. Scummies outscored Sheffield and they didn't throw stones at their defenders that swallowed 2 goals. They quietly moved on with their 3 points in the bag.

Meanwhile, Chelsea failed to outscore the same Sheffield, that's when we were seeing epistles on how Chelsea were the only team Sheffield could score twice, while leaving our mumu attackers who preferred to be more engaged with their hairstyles than engaging the Sheffield's keeper.

Without Palmer, our attack is not better than Sheffield's.

nihilistjnr:
You cannot in one breadth be talking about how bad Sheffield are defensively, concededing 88 goals in 32 matches ( the worst defensive record in EPL history btw) and then in the same breadth be telling me that Chelsea should be looking to lock up shop against them.

This is a team thar on average chops 3 goals a match. There was one particular period where they choped 21 goals in 4 games. Back to back to back 5 goals, then Arsenal topped them up with 6

Even if they score 3 against you (for example like they did against Fulham) you should be able to put at least 3 past them again e.g Fulham.

With a team like Sheffield, it does not matter of they score, because they have proven that they can score against any team in the league. What matters is that they cannot defend against anybody, hence, and it bears repeating again, them having the worst defence in EPL history.

Using goals conceded to claim 'both attack and defence' need work is a fallacious cop out. Yesterday I asked you why Newscastle with 52 goals conceded (exactly the same as Chelsea) are not struggling with mid-table obscurity like us, and you did not answer

Aston Villa with 50 goals and Spurs with 49 goals conceded are fighting for UCL places. Sheffield united scored against these guys too. Can you please provide your theory on why these guys with the same 'bad defence' are in 4th and 5th place, not 9th and praying for weapons to form against Brighton?
Spot on.

We cannot address every hole at once.

And no, we don't need two CFs. It'll be nice to have them, but we don't need two CFs.

You cant be watching Badiashile and Disasi and Chilwell and Gallagher and Madueke and Mudryk and go and buy two CFs
You didn't put Badiashile and Disasi in your squad already. I will also X them with one CB bought.

Using Jackson as a winger when you can loan him out to go and sharpen his skill as top 9, is counter-productive.

Starting a match as a winger is different from dashing to the wings with acres of space, as a striker. You guys should not turn a blind eye to his average dribbling skills, poor body balance and cluelessness and inability to take shots from outside of the box. Can he run attack to defence, without his brain freezing when needed to decide on the final ball?

Jackson should be loaned out or sold to Jamaica.

At a time, we had 3 top strikers in our team as a big team. Gyokeres and Jackson can't be compared to Drogba, Anelka and Kalou that were all in our squad at the same time. Man city are having Haaland and Alvarez, who are both better than Jackson.

We should return to the old Chelsea and not move like West ham.
