Did you just wake up? I thought its "just fix attack. Period"? Yes in January, fix the attack first. |

kingBolton: The issue with Chelsea is that almost all our departments have their own problems, to simply put it, our squad is badly assembled. Let's start with the attack, how many of our attackers can hold on to the ball without turning it over to the opponent within seconds ? We can't recycle the ball or hold on to it for a minute without our attackers trying something stupid and gifting the opponent an opportunity to counter. Look at other big teams in the league and the profile of their attackers and look at chelsea's , who is the 1 V 1 dribbler like saka, doku , grealish , kulusevski or diaz that can pin back a defender or that will make a winger reduce their attacking intensity when playing us to help out his defender? Who can the defenders launch the ball to like Kai, halaand or Nunez to relieve them of pressure without turning the ball over immediately? When most of us here keep saying attack should be prioritize, it doesn't mean we want our defence to be neglected, it just means the number of changes we need in our defence is small compared to our attack.
Sorry for any typo.. typing from my phone. This is exactly what Timbros have sworn not to understand. |

popizaino: You can concede under any circumstances against any team, what shows your strength as a big team is the ability to always come back in rare scenarios like this. Don't let agenda get the better of you. I don't know why he always love to defend our wasteful attackers. That's how he was defending Morata when he was sinking our team with numerous big misses. Maybe he is not even a Chelsea fan. |

timbros: Like score 7 goals and concede 6 before you win, abi?
A smaller team that goes one man down defends deep. Defends with their life. Breaking down such defence is very hard. You have no business conceding against such team. But we conceded, not once but twice. It's almost as if Burnley intentionally waits for us to score and immediately stroll to our post and equalise.
I'm not sure you watched the match. Barcelona failed to beat us that year with a man down and 2-goal lead. We scored 2 goals after Terry was sent off as Messi missed a PK. After the match, Fraudiola didn't blame his defence but rues the inability to outscore Chelsea. Rest. |

timbros: You cannot shift this post.
We have never talked about transfer window. Whether summer transfer or January transfer.
Check my stand again. Improving the team in not only buying buying buying players. Me and you never argue who to buy and when. Great teams, after conceding, have the attacking prowess to come from behind and win matches. Even scummies have done it this year, not to talk of City, Arsenal and Liverpool. Because of our useless attackers like Sterling and Jackson, we find it difficult to do comebacks and even failed to consolidate on early leads. Newcastle showed what is missing in our attack yesterday. |

timbros: Shut up Mr man.
I make my analogy. Make yours if you want to.
I specifically gave examples of teams that scored two goals nothing more nothing less.
Spurs two goals. Chelsea two goals. Bournemouth two goals. Aston Villa two goals.
All of them got a win except one. Why did that one not get a win? Go figure.
If big chances missed is metric for a bad striker, Haaland will be the worst striker in the league.
The Isak you are talking of, is it this same Isak that have missed more big chances than Sterling that you so love to malign? Your analogy is foolish. As usual, Chelsea are among top 4 teams that create big chances weekly but we are missing them in loads. That's why we are where we are. We have defensive issues, and one could blame it on injuries to Reece, Fofana, Chilwell. What's the excuse for your great Sterling, not to have scored the third yesterday? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by airmark(m): 10:44am On Mar 31, 2024 |
timbros: Go and convert the 10 big chances before you have hope of winning a match.
Erling Haaland, the best striker in the league have missed more big chances than Jackson and Sterling put together. And he converted half chances, that's why he is better than your Sterling and Jackson. Both half chances and big chances, your Sterling and Jackson are experts in throwing them away. I think you admire wasteful strikers, I remember how Morata's big misses excited you. |

timbros: Did Newcastle score 2 goals? They were trailing 1-3 and they scored 3 more goals to win the match. You win a match by outscoring your opponent. Newcastle didn't get the number of big chances we got against Burnley, but they won. Ask yourself, can Jackson bench Isak? Can Sterling bench Barnes? No serious club will put Sterling to be leading the attack. |

Unlimited22: Liverpool 2014, Chelsea 2005.
City 2018, City 2020.
Chelsea 2021 UCL, Chelsea 2021 league.
Make una leave this argument abeg. If you like bring Eibar Messi and Noodle hair Ronaldo.
Parade clowns in your defense and you will still drop enough points to lose the league.
We've already conceded as many goals this season as we did in all of last and there's still 10 games left to play. The point is, we can say we missed Reece, Chilwell, Fofana, Lavia due to injuries during the season. What's the excuse for our misfiring attackers? |

Which of the goals conceded was a fault of porous defence?
I didn't get to see today's game but from highlights we conceded the 2nd goal on the 80th mins,10mins is still enough to score one more goal and seal the game if we were actually a big team. Timbros is terrible. |
