larride: There’s no way you will watch this clip from the beginning and not knock VVD head.
For a top CB, he loses concentration often. Below is the full coverage, if you also expected VVD to keep on running with Giroud like foolish raumdeuter, opening his rear for Pulisic to go solo into the box, then you need to quit analysing defensive play. VVD would be the most stupid top defender to do that when Matip and Gomez were there to follow Giroud. |

Who was closest to Giroud here and how come Giroud left him glued to the spot like a statue pointing You have no technical knowledge of football. You expected VVD to let Giroud's run, create that opening for Pulisic to go solo and score. You think all CBs are stupid like you and Boathand? |

raumdeuter: This is the shameless liar who earlier said
So tell us who was the closest defender to Giroud?
VVD was marking Giroud, Giroud was making a run, What should the defender do? A. Follow your runner, B. stand and point traffic
VVD left his man Giroud yet did not stop Pulisic from making the pass. He didnt follow his man, he didnt stop the pass,
So what was his function in that move and how was it executed Who was the closest to Giroud below. Even Lana1 corrected your stupidity earlier.

thorrvik55: All those of u shouting "Sarri laid foundation"
Can we also say Mourinho laid foundation for Conte to win the league next season with his defensive philosophy which is similar to Conte's?
When city signed Guardiola, how long did it take b4 they started trying to play the way Guardiola wanted, did it take 4 to 5 years?
Sarri don turn brick layer way dey lay foundation. Sarri dat turned Chelsea to pass the front aimlessly in front of ur opponents team... As if it was Sarri that laid passing from the back foundation for Lampard at Derby, last season. Yeye people. Christensen-Zouma-Emerson weren't even Sarri's men last season at the back, i wonder the nonsense foundation they were talking about, when Lampard was doing same with Tomori and 33yr old Keogh last season. |

Kimbeast: Again I will tell you what I told Ema. Without sarri it would have taken a long time for lampard to implement his own idea. Everyone knew kante defensive qualities, but after Sarri he has also shown how he can dominate on the ball. Especially Yesterday his ability to bring the ball forward and not only do tackles was so important for Us. Sarri made the team comfortable playing from the back under pressure which you saw yesterday was very instrumental against Liverpool high press. Thats a lie. How long did it take Sarri to train them on playing from the back? Conte changed his formation, tactics during the season and he won the league with it. Sarri gave no framework biko. Lampard has no Sarri to thank. |

donjazet: I really don't get you, you seem to let your dislike for Sarri cloud your judgement.
Yes, Sarri had flaws, primarily being tactically inflexible, however there were good positives from his tenure, his basic ideology was attacking football and to an extent he drilled the basics and fundamentals of his system into the team.
Saying that what we saw yesterday was all down to Lampard's methods is untrue and downright ridiculous.
Lampard has tweaked minor aspects of sarrisimo but the foundation is undeniable. lack of acknowledgement of Sarri's positive influence on the team is unjust and shortsighted. Even in the academy, they teach you basics of football. You are expected to know how to give and receive short and long passes as a professional player. Those are the foundations that must be laid by academy coaches. Passing from the back, is not the key thing in Lampard's system. If he doesn't change the players orientation on making a lot of short passes leading to nowhere, then he's doomed. Transition to attack is not only majorly by one Jorginho, so where's the framework? Lampard scattered Sarri's system and brought his into the team and even when we have United sitting behind the ball, we could create numerous chances, unlike under Sarri. Lampard didnt use any Sarri framework at Derby, he's not using any Sarri framework at Chelsea biko. All professional players learnt those basic skills in academies. Fraudiola should be the one accusing everybody of using his high pressing framework. |

Lana1: 7 on 2. Gomes i the one who should ve done better to track Giroud.
Matip either follows up on Giroud or he blocks the passing lane.
VVD on the other hand is the one who should ve stepped up to Pulisic to double mark. But uncle was backing off so they wont dribble him. This is not the first time i have noticed him backing off from an attacker too. If Gomes and Matip did their jobs, no goal. Don't expect every cb to be like Boathand jumping into a skillfull Marcelo as the last man, exposing his keeper. You time it, you only do that when neccessary. Vvd did such against Pedro and Giroud yesterday, when he had to. |

muyiwaadekunle1: This is not entirely true, he gave Emerson his breakthrough even when he was short on confidence. He played Kovacic well enough too, just that the substitution thing with Barkley didn't play out well with the fans. I can only fault him for playing Kante off position but our black brother showed us he's an utility player. I still do not have confidence in Lampard. I was expecting massive shore from the bench yesterday, only to see that Championship material (Tammy Abraham) instead of Batshuayi to replace Giroud. Well, let's hope we avoid another defeat on Sunday. I don't have problem with his using them but his training programme gave no chance for some players to improve. When he said he only worked with 13 players for the season, how would the remaining players improve ? Unless you want to tell me Emerson was in that 13. It was the pressure from fans that made him to start using Emerson later and how would such player play well? Now almost all our players are looking good and not only some anointed ones. If you don't have confidence in Lampard, maybe you can be following Juve. |

SkimpleD: His confidence level is high for his age. Knows when to tackle too.
I’m just torn in between starting Mount or Kovacic. Kovacic is sealing his spot in that midfield. Two games and our midfield virtually won those battles in the middle, creating numerous chances upfront, unlike under Sarri that I was almost bored to death with thousands of passes but few chances created. Now opponents can't just man-mark Jorginho and the system collapses. Lampard's system is not built around only one player. Tomori has a bright future. |

Thank God I now have a team that could create numerous scoring chances and not playing thousands of short passes with no multiple scoring chances.
