Programming / Re: How Are You Currently Paying For AWS, Digital Ocean Or Google Cloud? by airsaylongcome: 3:06pm On Sep 20
99thEnemy:

Sometimes, hidden fees are only discovered after you start using a service. Some providers are transparent with their fees upfront, while others aren’t.

Many won’t even display the fees until you register and check on your dashboard.

Why would I go through the trouble of registering for every single service just to find this information, when others on Nairaland who have used them may already know?

Do you just accept anything because it works?

Lol. Okay. Keep waiting for other people to try it and come and tell you which one to use.

Thank you.

Now streamlining to the best is my challenge.

I want to avoid making a choice and discovering hidden fees/charges and other undesirable things about a service later on.

I just want these best of the best.

Or if I can get the pros and cons of each so it can enable me decide.

I need to make these payments before Monday.

Someone shortlisted options for you and you now want them to tell you which one to use? Na wa for Wire Road for Benin

Given the picture posted, it's the same person reported on https://www.nairaland.com/8162484/how-got-scammed-guy-met

Put out his number, Nairaland moniker and Bank account name and number so people can properly identify and avoid this thief
Programming / Re: Front End Dev - Would You Prefer To Use A Template Or Code From Scratch by airsaylongcome: 3:31am On Sep 20
Deicide:
Advantage of using template
- it's faster to code
- you are focusing more on logic instead of design
- if you don't know how to design, it is a plus

Disadvantage of using template
- You don't have full control
- Most of the stuff in the template you don't need, so time can be wasted here deleting code

Valid points especially regarding the disadvantages. But I always like to ask users which they would buy? A Toyota Corolla off the shelf that they can drive away immediately? Or a custom built Corolla that would cost twice as much and be ready in 6 months?

He signed for that rifle. If they wanted to disarm him, Naval Police are the ones that should have done so. Not some random fellow Seaman

Those who are trying to disarm him by force did they follow due process?

That Seaman is a warrior! Outnumbered and outgunned, he still refused to surrender his rifle. That's how warriors are built.

It's time to remove your garment of hatred.

This post isn't about any political party in particular. Call out your lazy and dumb governor.

Hatred how? The APC led FG has its minions here spewing all manner of inaccurate information about increased revenues to the state Governors whereas reality is otherwise and that's "hatred"? Swerve joor

Revenues tumble?

I thought the APC spin doctors here said that the Governors revenues have skyrocketed since "subsidy was removed"?

Programming / Re: Need Someone Who Understands The Fintech Space by airsaylongcome: 10:53am On Sep 17
SimpleGuy001:

Oh thanks. I can see the squad thing. It’s basically for merchants. Plus takes 24 hours for payment to reflect….

What I want is basically something instant. Just like an opay to Kuda kinda transaction.

What I wanted to know is if license can be used from other banks which you’ve answered. Thank you

I will research out banks that can offer their API, it’s basically to get an MVP up and running for early users.

That Instant is where Agbada go hook for fence o. That's what everyone wants but very difficult. I'm almost certain you will need your own license for that. If you are leveraging someone else's API, very very likely that money will reflect T+1 at the earliest if not T+2. I will refer you to one resource I used when I was experiementing with entering that space. Mojaloop Learning resources at learn.mojaloop.io.

Most of these Fintechs use an open source backend (built with Java) for the solutions and have a frontend end that then consumes API from the backend. A few slightly customise this backend for their specific business case, but most start of with it unmodified

But must have this money for starting the business? How about leveraging partnerships with those with license and using their API? Does that work?

That should work I guess. Good route to get into that space. Don't let the 50m discourage you. Start anyway possible and grow your business

With the broad concepts of encryption. Yes. Kleopatra is notoriously difficult to import keys. I asked what OS you are running this on and you have side stepped that question. I’ve tried something similar on Tails OS.

Salewa97:
The price of petrol in Nigeria is still one of the lowest in the world.

The only difference is that we are not subsidizing it for now which is not a bad thing.

The money that would have been used for subsidy is being channeled into infrastructure development

Biggest lie on earth. That money is being looted and relooted

Egypt was conquered by Alexander the Great of Macedonia and he named a city after himself called Alexandria, that city is still in Egypt till this day. The Romans also conquered and Ruled Egypt, don’t forget Augustus, Marc Antony and Cleopatra.

Alexander the Great of Greece, was Greek, from a region in Greece called Macedonia. Completely different from the Country called North Macedonia and formerly know as “Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM)”

cheesy

This is one of the reasons why i respect Egypt, Ethipia, Syria and Greece. They've managed to maintain the name and the territory from then to now

Egypt was never conquered at any point despite threatning expansive wars from Greece and Mongollia

Shame on Babylon and Assyria that werent strong enough to resist those world powers

The territories once occupied by Assyria and Babylonia are part of modern-day Iraq, Syria, Turkey, and Iran.

Egypt was never conquered? What did the British and French do there? Drink tea?
