I have a solution to that. A solution that is meant for a pharmacy store to keep track of there stocks, take care of the drugs based on there expiry date, the number of drugs that are available presently in stock by a manufacturer, date bought, keeping track of the expenses and income of the firm, generation of report as required. Not really seem to be diverting your attention but i think learning a modern and easy to learn programming language like Microsoft CSharp will do you a great favour. I wprk with that anyway. Cos i have worked with VB, Java, C++ and others but this is the best to me so far.

You can, 1. The connection string must be to the database hosted on the server online. 2. The program must be connected to the internet when trying to save to the repository.

Hello there are enough reporting tool for dotnet that you can use. Where are you. I can help on that or let us talk online. You can use rdlc, server side, stimulsoft and others. Which dotnet framework version are you working with and the programme template u are using. Win forms, web, mvc or others.

Agreed it's a web development IDE. But instead of using that of 2005, there have been development on the IDE over the years. The latest is VS 2011, still under testing anyway. This is development tool for ASP.NET Web Form, Silverlight, ASP.net MVC and others. Where are you? I should be able to give you a copy of VS 2010. I developed application wt it, not only for web but for window forms and window phone 7 too.

Coding which is equivalent to programming, testing, maintaining, documentation of artifacts, good User experience and interface, data integrity, are all embedded in the act of good software development. But of course we have many coders and little software developers out there. To most clients the standard is not the issue but for the solution architect to deliver.

Personal skill development is the soul of IT in Nigeria not Computer Science of a thing. I am not againsting studying computer science, though if you are sound your will know that are not totally trash. Thank God you know this early. Please, work on yourself and get good grades as much as you can and don't have it in mind of been local champion if you really want to be the best you are seeing in urself.
