Hello, I know that you will have to pass a written test and a driving test/road to get a DL. Let me say, don't use your knowledge of driving in 9ja to go take the test without studying the book provided in that state to obtain DL. Here is a link to help you with the info https://www.ksrevenue.gov/dovobtainingdl.htmlRealTrump:
@ Slimszy,
Sorry about your experience but TWoods is right.
At best your response about ur your post study plans n ur background was run-of-the-mill, it won't fly with her n might not necessarily fly with another VO.
I survived that woman, she grilled me for like 15 minutes. You would think I am lieing until I start d timer n narrate the whole thing to you. Same interview everybody will say takes no more than 2-3 minutes. I wasn't funded.
I left feeling as if I had been in a boxing match cos I sure as hell took a lot of punches.
She is not harsh but very thorough, n I commended her for being detailed after d interview to which she nodded n she replied thank you.
@ Scholar212, there is a perception here that your visa is guaranteed so far you have funding, so people tend to relax about d interview but it's not always like that.
Las las, she gave me a white paper for administrative processing, so even me is not yet cleared. Please who knows d likely timeframe for administrative processing but my major problem is how would I be able to drive in the state of Kansas? I only have my naija license which will expire in August? MAKE UNA EP ME |

I agree with you but I didn't want to mention that but I think the applicant should be aware of this too (something to know). Not everyone knows this! The same way most people didn't know they can do adjustment of status in the US when they have a B1/B2 visa. I know people who go this route. Please, don't pm me and ask me how because I will not say anything. It’s time to keep my mouth shut. NEXT OyoTunjiUSA:
Hey 🤠
@Ajibade105.
1. I sensored my answer to @Tmoo in order to not create additional panic for him because he was already tensed for not being able to secure F1-VISA appointment.
2. Yes his B1-B2 VISA might be canceled when approving his F1-VISA and at the same time his F1-VISA might be denied and also prompt the consular to cancel his already gotten B1-B2 VISA. So, I agree with you on this but you do not have to explain to this level because it will cause panic for him.
3. However, you have to agree with me and @Maford that you can have both B1-B2 and F1 VISAS at the same time inside your travel passport.
PS: The scenario in sense 2 above does not usually occur and it depend on circumstances.
Best Wishes 🙏 |

I disagree with what you just said, I know someone recently whose B1 visa was canceled when the F1 was denied. The VO said this to the applicant by saying do you know you can't travel to the US with your B1/B2 anymore because it has been canceled. mayford:
Not necessarily, they won't have to cancel his B visa if his F-1 is approved. He could travel with either one depending on the trip purpose, e.g. attending a conference in a month's time, when resumption for school is still 5 months away - it'd make perfect sense to use the B visa because it's relevant for that particular trip.
Only in rare cases, such decision lies on the Consular Officer who would cancel the B visa without prejudice (if they believe there's no need to keep the B when the F is already there and no reason would warrant the use of the B visa, especially if applicant's resumption date is so close). |

Do ALL schools use the last 60 credit hours? Just curious to know... iWise:
If indeed he was denied admission due to low GPA, it must be the case that his GPA from his last 60 credit hours did not measure up. Overall GPA is of little import when it comes to graduate admission. |

Go to where you have a full assistantship. You can always apply to schools in Canada while in the US if you get full funding you can then move to Canada... Dudun007: Hello guys, I need you thoughts on this if you have ever experience it.
Its a case of an applicants pursuing student visa for two universities at different countries ( U.S and Canada) simultaneously same courses and almost same course duration. Canada is the applicants preferred choice/destination but U.S gave full funding unlike Canada with partial
If the U.S student visa was approved on time and passport stamped already and then later the Canadian visa becomes sucessful and IRCC requested for the applicants passport to be stamped. Questions: 1)Will the passport be rejected at the Canadian VAC, 2) if the Canada stamps the passport, at the Canadian /u.s border will questions arise and will applicant be sent back home.
Please share any similar experience.

Congratulations and safe trip! HisEminence:
F2 visa approved Location: Abuja Date: 9th of November 2020.
I got to the Consular at some minutes to 7am. I remembered I needed to print a last minute document. After so much bargaining, I paid 10k instantly. Wasn't happy about it but we move anyways.
I approached the entrance and was directed in. I was the fifth person when I entered the building, all F1, except me (F2)
So we were called in, in 3s. So to the interview proper. When I entered the first person on the line was already paying her Reciprocity fee. Every other applicant before me too were granted visa.
Only one VO was attending to us, but he seemed very calm and friendly. Fast forward to my interview.
VO: Good morning sir. Me: Good morning. VO: pass me your passport and i-20 please.. Me: (hands them over) VO: (on seeing my i-20) wow, your wife is in the U.S Me: Yes, she is. VO: What is she studying? Me: (stammers a bit) She's studying chemistry at Copping state university, Baltimore, Maryland. I didn't like that how that sounded, so I had to tell me that I stammer at times like this.
VO: (Nods) No problems, just take your time Me: (in my mind, I was like.... Oshey padi mi. Afolabi, calm down, you gat this)
All this while, I noticed someone else behind him listening to both of us. And he has been there when those before me were interviewed.
Then the VO switched of his mic and turned to start talking with the other guy. Pointing at the system, passport and my i-20 as he's discussing. And the other guy kept nodding and looking at the system as the VO was talking. This lasted for about a minute.
Then VO faces me again.
VO: When did she travel? Me: 31st of December 2019 VO: Why didn't you travel with her? Me: I was overseeing a project at the office. I work with the Lagos state government. (I motioned to bring out my staff ID card.) VO: No need. What do you do? Me: I am a system administrator and an I.T support officer.
VO turns again and starts discussing with the guy again. This lasted for about 30 seconds
VO faces me again.
VO: Do you have any kids. Me: Yes, she gave birth to our baby there in the US, just before the lockdown VO: Oh, Male or Female? Me: Female VO: Has she come back to Nigeria since she had the baby? Me: No, she hasn't VO: Why are you just applying? Me: I applied earlier in march, and I got May as my interview date, but it didn't hold. VO: Were you denied? Me: No. The appointment was cancelled. VO: Oh, okay VO: How did you meet your wife? Me: I met her through a mutual friend. We met and we liked eachother. VO: How did they know eachother. Me: They attended the same school. VO: When did you meet her? Me: 2018 VO: when did you get married? Me: Traditionally and according to Islamic rights, February 2019. And then we proceeded to the registry in Ikoyi, Lagos, in December, to make it official. VO: Nods VO: Have you travelled out of the country before? Me: Yes, I have. We travelled to the UAE together. VO: How long did you spend there? Me: About a week. VO: Like a honeymoon right? Me: Yes. VO: Have you been to the US before? Me: No, not at all
VO turns to his guy again. The discussion again lasted for another 30 seconds. In my mind, I was like.... my fate is being decided now. He then faces me again.
VO: (Looks at my i-20 and sees my wife's school fees on it) who is paying your wife's fees? Me: Her dad. VO: What does he do? Me: He's a businessman in the oil and gas sector. He's a CEO of Crowns oil. Also he's a high chief of the Oba of Ikoyi in Lagos. VO: (Nods) Oh, okay. Makes sense VO: What does your dad do? Me: My dad is late, but before he died he was a retired Airforce officer. VO: Nods. Your application looks okay at this point. Take this white paper, go to the cashier to pay your reciprocity fee, bla bla bla Me: I was already shinning teeth under my nose mask.
I paid my fee. Went back to the VO to drop the passport and I zoomed out. Got out and I told the others sitting outside all the best.
Tips 1. After God, na God ooo. Nothing else 2. Please make sure you print every document before coming for your interview, those guys outside no get joy. Dem go bill you die 3. Make sure you hold money on that day. Any last minute thing might come up to print. There's no such thing as too much documents ooo 4. Be as confident as possible. Be calm. Dont speak too much, but make sure your answers cover the questions asked.
Big shout out to everyone who has impacted on us all. All the best to all applicants.
We move!!! |

What is the name of the school? I have friends applying and I might recommend your school... Lildairo: Well, it depends on the school. My admission came with huge funding and everything was within two weeks.
I don't think there is a need to lie. Honesty matters a lot. There's no crime in applying to one University and applying to one University does not reduce your chances of getting your VISA approved.

You ask him to say he was given admission and funding within two weeks. The VO is not stupid not to know it is a lie. Lildairo:
Just be honest in your interview. Many people who applied to only one school have gotten their VISA approved.
You can say you were given admission with full funding within two weeks of submitting your application, hence, there was no need to apply to any other school, since you've gotten what you want.

My guy, you have been scammed. The Agent in Nigeria is the one acting as the Agent in Manitoba. odain101: hello house, pls i need your assistance, I applied for MPNP Workers in manitoba last June 15th 2019, through an agent here in Nigeria who said to have a connection with employer in Canada, i got an email from EOI Confirmed my entry, the process could not hand me any evidence other than they asking me for the necessary credentials, I got employment letter from the company i'm to work for, filled and sent back September 2019, i was assured by my agent that Biometrics will come up on dec 2019, when i waited and it passed, had to mail the employer, he said my agent in Nigeria is the one delaying, i made contact and he said they needed few more candidate to meet the quoter then already been sorted, they are applied for skilled workers in manitoba which i was told it excluded the test of english due to the program package, it's quite obvious they could ignore me because they have collected all the money asked, recently i made a contact with my agent in Nigeria and he said the delay happened due to the COVID 19 outburst and international airports are opening now as so do the Visa center. I haven't receive any biometric email yet from IRCC, pls kindly enlighten my route if i haven't fall in a wrong hands. thanks (I was to find out more and get more information so i can check the whole thing myself but confirmed the employer handlingthe process there could not give out the information) i'm just confused. 1 Like |

Is the BVL the same thing as the Correspondence letter titled validity of your biometric information? Does this look like the application will be approved or? |
