I'm not so sure keeping in touch with an ex is a bad idea so long boundaries are properly defined. Where the headache lies is the pictures he has on his device, which is rather strange and funny. Nine years is a whole lot to 'throw away', which is why I guess he still acts that way.

I think you should get him to talk about her. You prolly know why they parted which isn't really enough. People sometimes tend to hang on to their exes when there is no present person or when that person isn't filling the void the previous person left. They'd rather 'call on' the estranged, albeit unconsciously to help them manage the void.

The ex still do certain things he misses and loves which is why he finds it convenient doing what he does, even with you around. This isn't just a male thing,to be fair. Some ladies hang on to their exes this way too. And if I was to be in the shoes of the present person, I'd make her talk about her ex, what made him different and what she fancied about him the most. I'd have to learn and fill the void.

You really should do that as well.

I have been dating a guy for a year plus now.we get along with each other well but the issue is that he still keep photos of his Ex with him,even on fb.they dated for 9 years cos she was still schooling then.but she later Bleep up by getting pregnant for another guy.even though he seems all nice and caring to me,I still sense he still loves her cos a time I checked his phone and saw his conversation with her,he was always the one saying hello and hi but the girl doesn't buy to that like she's moved on.Each time I confront him,he always like saying he's moved on that he can't go back to his vomit.not knowing I checked his chats..
Now my questions is , Please what should I do to such guy that still has pix of his Ex and saying he's moved on? Though he is nice and even planning marriage but I don't understand his confused state of mind.
