yousuf12: I feel sorry for the Kenyan people. First they were attacked and killed then they were looted by the people who were meant to save them from the terrorists. Tragic indeed.
the KDF is unprofessional, they should have never messed with Somalia.

Bimpss: My friend: Osama, saddam, al-masri, muhammed atef, anwar al-awlaki (I can go on) are dead, and alqaeda is weak (good as dead also, if you ask me). Al-shabab asked for trouble, and they are going to get it. I don't think it's going to take the U.S. much effort to weaken them, after all al-qaeda was more venomous back in the day, now look where they are now? Run down.
What ever you say. All i learned in college was these groups are ideological driven not indivually driven like a cult.

Bimpss: Haven't you ever heard that in order to kill a snake you have to cut "The head" off first? Killing the leader makes the group more vulnerable. It weakens them in a way. With the leader gone, the group would be disorganized hence making them fragile to more attacks.
Osama is dead, alqaeda is still alive, this is a country its a gurella group.

And the Somali people are a strong people, They fight till death.

Bimpss: Yes, so? This is a new development. It only sends one message, the U.S forces have their target on al-shabab now. They wanted attention, now they've got it.
idioot, alshabaab is not 1 man. but a group of somalis who fight for what they think is right, killing the leader doesnt do anything but just provoke more attacks. Plus the spirit of fighting is too different than negroid who submit easily. God have mercy on anyone who messes with Somalis.

Bimpss: BREAKING NEWS: U.S forces strikes Libya and Somalia.

(CNN) -- U.S. military forces were involved in two separate operations in Africa -- one of them targeting a member of the group Al-Shabaab, which was behind last month's Kenya mall attack, and the other going after an al Qaeda leader tied to the 1998 bombings of two U.S. embassies.
The Al-Shabaab raid took place in Somalia, where that terrorist group is based, sometime in the past 24 hours, a senior U.S. official said Saturday evening.
The team of U.S. Navy SEALs had to withdraw before it could confirm whether it killed the target because they came under fire, the official said. The SEALs made the "prudent decision" to withdraw rather than engage in further combat, according to the official.
The other mission ended in the capture of Abu Anas al Libi, who is suspected to have played a significant role in the August 7, 1998, bombings of American embassies in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania; and Nairobi, Kenya, U.S. officials said.
The key al Qaeda operative was captured by U.S. special operations forces in Tripoli, Libya, according to the officials.
This U.S. operation was conducted with the knowledge of the Libyan government, said one U.S. official.
It was not immediately known if the two operations were coordinated or even related: While Al-Shabaab is affiliated with al Qaeda, it is not known that al Libi had any connection with that group or was linked to last month's deadly attack on Nairobi's Westgate Mall.
Still, it shows the U.S. military's capabilities to strike quickly against terrorists -- and not just using unmanned drones, as have been frequently used in Yemen, Pakistan and other locales.
Al-Shabaab blamed for Kenya mall attack
Al-Shabaab long has been a target of Washington: It was designated a foreign terrorist organization by the U.S. government in March 2008. The group is seeking to turn Somalia into a fundamentalist Islamic state, according to the Council on Foreign Relations, though it has targeted people outside that African country as well.
While the Somali group has been linked to a number of attacks, its most recent one on Nairobi's Westgate Mall -- which left at least 67 people dead -- thrust it into the spotlight once again. Washington vowed to support Kenya's government after the bloody, multi-day raid, which raised concerns that something like it could happen in the United States.
Why exactly U.S. forces went after the group recently in southern Somalia wasn't immediately known.
It's not believed that any SEALs died in that raid.
South-central Somalia is where most of the group's foreign fighters and leaders live and is heavily guarded. The group there has been increasingly squeezed as Kenyan forces fight the group from the south and African Union forces come down from Mogadishu.
Al Libi tied to U.S. embassy bombings
In some ways, U.S. authorities have had their eyes on al Libi for even longer -- even putting out a $5 million reward for information leading to him.
He is alleged to have played a key role in the August 7, 1998, bombings of American embassies in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania; and Nairobi, Kenya.
U.S. officials have wanted al Libi, 49, to face trial in an American court. As is, he's been indicted on charges of conspiracy to kill U.S. nationals, murder, destruction of American buildings and government property, and destruction of national defense utilities of the United States.
The al Qaeda member had been seen in Tripoli, as CNN was first to report back in September 2012, citing Western intelligence sources. These sources said there was concern that al Libi was working to establish an al Qaeda network in Libya.

Kenya’s military, embarrassed by mounting evidence of large-scale looting by soldiers during the terrorist attack on the Westgate mall in Nairobi, is appealing for public help to identify and punish the looters.

“The Ministry of Defence is committed to get to the bottom of this matter,” the Kenyan military said in a statement on Thursday after a crisis meeting of top defence officials. Any soldiers found guilty of looting “will be firmly dealt with,” the statement said.

Earlier in the day, a Nairobi newspaper reported that footage from closed-circuit cameras showed Kenyan soldiers stealing money from cash registers at an abandoned supermarket at the mall within hours of the terrorist attack.

The evidence of looting is disturbing because it suggests that Kenya’s poorly paid and corrupt soldiers could be bribed to turn a blind eye to terrorist threats to the country. There is already speculation that the Westgate attackers may have entered the country by bribing border guards.

At least 67 people were killed in the attack.

A Nairobi newspaper, The Star, said the closed-circuit footage shows the soldiers opening cash registers and dumping cash into plastic shopping bags on the night of Sept. 21, while the attackers were holed up in a corner of the mall.

The footage shows three soldiers walking out of the supermarket with plastic shopping bags filled with cash, while others can be seen choosing items from the supermarket shelves, it said.

The Kenyan army and police were litterly robbing and drinking beer from the stores while Alshabaab was holding hostages. That is sad.

Like i said, Kenya never had a war. And add that to the bantu mind, which is simple minded and you get the following. Kenyan Army and Police looting stores while in the same mall their are hostages.

The negroid mind is very stuppid and thats why they have always been slaves.

NL member: Why do somalis lack the simple ability of electing a central government?
Are they r£tarded or something?
Somalia was the first country that had an african leader democratically pass power to another african country.

Somalia has an elected President for the last 10 years. Islamist group controlled the country. The new president was elected last year

Somali women have more power than most women in africa. As they run the home and our culture treats women better than majority of arab and african countries.

Subjucated by who? Cause history shows it was arabs who fled arabia to Zeila (somalia). And it is Horners living in southern yemen from the time we controlled Yemen, and no arabs in the Horn.

yousuf12: That was after Islam came to East Africa. See before Somalis converted to Islam their lands was ruled by the Axumite Kingdom. So it is pretty weird saying that they weren't part of it. Axum ruled modern day Berbera, Zayla', Harar, Masawa, and many other cities who are synonymous with Islam.

After Islam came to East Africa the battles of futuh al habash were commencing.
Imam Ahmed Ghazi completely annihilated the Axumite forces and that's when the Axumies resorted to begging the Portuguese for help. In the end the Adalites were defeated by the Christian forces but Islam was already deeply rooted in East Africa.

Today the majority of Horners are Muslim:

Eritrea - 50%
Ethiopia - 30%
Djibouti - 80%
Somalia - 100%

Somalia is 100%
Ethiopia is 40%
Djibouti 96%
Eritrea 25%

get your facts right.

onila: and the South Sudan shall rise aaaagainnnnn

from a South Sudanese smiley

99% of South Sudanese voted for separation. Because who wants to be treated as a second class citizen in his country when he earned chance to be a first class citizen on his own soil. As a black African in old Sudan, where is your dignity when your country is defined as Islamic Arab state and member of Arab Leagues? Plus, look at South Sudan, there was nearly no developments done by the Khartoum government which sucks all the resources from the south for khartoum developments. We don't hate northerners Sudanese, we shared a lot of things in common, it is their institutionalized government that promotes policy of cultural racism that we rejected it. And we sympathize with all marginalized people of Sudan. The southerners sacrificed their lives, 2 million lives, thru 25 yrs of Sudan People Liberation Movement/ Army-SPLM/A army struggle to make sure Sudan remained a unity country if only the National Islamic Front-Sudan government- was willing to a form a secular state where various ethnicities of African and Arab heritage were respected. But the Khartoum government or NIF was hell bended in eliminating the southerners and other marginalized areas like Nuba Mountains, and Southern Blue Nile for its deading ideology of Arab and Islamic Sudan. And that is why war is still going in Dar Fur, Nuba mountains, and Southern blue Nile now as we talking because they don't identity with that narrow Sudan definition of Sudan. We are proud of our country and our black African heritage and that is why the first symbol on our national flag is black representing the people! cultural domination is the root to the slavery of the mind and the body!!
