You lie when you say you are igbo first before you are Nigeria. . . big lie!  Here is your social heirarchy. . .

Aro ibo vs Nri ibo  (settler/indigene problem)
Freeborn ibo vs Osu ibo (discrimination and segregation)
Core ibo vs delta ibo and anioma ibo ( clannish)
Biafran Ibo vs Nigerian ibos(saboteurs)

You have learnt the wisdom of sitting on the side with Yorubas, have you not?  For the past one month thats all we hear your people say. . . our silence and patience is borne out of wisdom and we dont want to act impulsively and regret it later!   Its great to finally see the day that ibos recognize wisdom in the Yoruba model of calmed response.  Its great indeed!  The next thing you need to learn is how to put the political horse before the interest cart.  In years past you have always put your horse behind the cart.  Wrong way. . . look at how Yorubas do it and learn.

A one-day meeting of Igbo leaders in Enugu has ended with a call on sons and daughters of Igbo residing in the Northern part of Nigeria to return home to avoid being killed by members of the Boko Haram sect.

The meeting was held on Saturday shortly before the commencement of a joint meeting of the South East governors and the Igbo leaders at the Nike Hotel, Enugu.

The South East leaders made up of governors and leaders of thought rose from a meeting with condemnation for the spate of killing, especially Ndigbo in the country.

“We are angry at and condemned the spate of killings going on in the country, especially as it affects Ndigbo. We, however, commend the effort of the Federal Government in containing the situation.

“We set up a committee to monitor the development and advise on our future actions. We assure our people living in the North and other parts of the country that we are in constant touch with various state governments to ensure the security of their live and property.”

To this end, a committee has been set up to meet President Goodluck Jonthan with a view to stemming the incessant killings of Nigerians and Ndigbo in the North.

Rising from their meeting at the Enugu residence of late Chief Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, the leader of the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, told reporters that a committee had been set up to address the issue of returnees from the North, adding that refugee camps were already available in the entire South East zone.

Chief Uwazuruike, who addressed newsmen in company of the former Presdent-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Justice Eze Ozobu, stated that churches would be involved in rehabilitating Ndigbo who were displaced in the North as a result of the Boko Haram brutality and killings, stressing that Igbo leaders would not sit and watch their sons and daughters killed in the North for no cause.

Meanwhile, the President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has been urged to urgently proclaim a national day of prayers and fasting to curb the activities of members of the Boko Haram sect.

The General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria, Reverend Felix Meduoye, said this was necessary to halt the devastation which the activities of the sect had become in Nigeria and prevent its spread into other regions of the country.

Rev. Meduoye, in a press statement signed by Rev. Tobi Akinbo, his media aide, while sympathising with the victims, condemned the recent attack in Kano, noting that life is sacred and no one has any right to take life under any guise.

“We condemn in strong terms the violent sectarian attacks in Kano, Kano State of Friday, January 20, 2012 during which at least 186 persons have so far been reported dead. It is a callous, murderous and wicked action that has not only inflicted pains on many Nigerians but has as well affected our psyche as a nation.

While acknowledging the assurances from the president and other governmnent officials, the church leader reiterated the believe of the church that aside the security measures being put in place by government, the church believes that prayer and fasting will provide the needed relief, saying ‘we therefore call on the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to urgently initiate a national prayer and fasting programme involving all Nigerians.

A great man and inspiration to his people. I do not agree with all of his actions but I always view most of his decisions on the premise that he was a soldier and a politician. He was divisive at times and some of his rhetoric was inflammatory, but you would have to realize that his concern was the Igbo people and as such he used whatever methods he felt was necessary to achieve his aims of "uplifting" Ndigbo.

Depending on which part of the fence you were standing he was either a villain or a hero. I view him as both; my stance is in the middle depending on the issues being discussed.

Hate him or love him, this is a legend that will (hopefully) never be forgotten 10,000 years from now.

Ak47man, why won't what is good for them be possible? Do you see poor Christians in the south commiting suicide bombing? Something is very wrong with the system in the north. For the absence of other evidence, I think the problem is misunderstanding, misappplication, and mismanagement of religious information. But since this sort or problem is not pronounced in the south, I am passing the southern success secret to them freely! Be your brother keeper!

A Christian North is a terrorist free North!
True talk,as i said b4 that northern youths should face their elites and evil imams that preach hate to volunable kids and unfortunately those kids, most of them have innocent blood in their hands, you see the same way Charles tailor use child soldiers to commite his atrocities in Serra Leon the same things apply to religious leaders and elites in northern Nigeria,is all about their selfish gains that's all,and i wonder why FG allows such people to still move around in the society undecided i thought that Nigeria is a circular States? sharia law allowing it in Nigeria was a big mistake, but who are you to talk?as long as the same rules were not apply in eastern region is not a problem, cus northern leaders can do anything they want and it justified coolit doesn't make any constitutional sense at all.

They have tried many times to islamized Nigeria, through portraying Nigeria as an Islamic country it  didn't work, while the southern part that have the resources are 98% Christians imagine if oil was in northern Nigeria, they will not even bother with us by now Arewa republic will be a country with full Arabian/Islamic cultures, boko haram will be fighting a different fight, they will use boko haram to break away from the union cool cool

very articulated, the problem is that i can See that terrorism in Nigeria took everybody by surprised, but i knew it from  back of  my mind, never wish it on anybody because terrorism affect everybody, from the time the youths of northern Muslims started rejoicing after 9/11 we knew from that moment northerners have shot themselves on the foot, you cant show (imprealist)  you know they are already paranoid about Africa, why dancing on the street when something like that happen to a nation stronger and richer than you?
OK another one was Danish cartoon about Mohamed something that doesn't have anything to do with Africa, talkless of Nigeria, innocent people lost their life's  and properties.

Another one  was when CNN went to northern Nigeria for a documentary about almajiris, they show some bus and trucks with bin ladin photos on it,praising him.Meanwhile you get AID from them every year to cure polio and other diseases. Why will northerners always believe anything Arabs see as their enemies are their enemies too?you are inviting problem to yourself.

Now the same northern cabals joined with their new allies  mujaheddin/alshabaab with their extended network they manufactured  a group called "boko haram" to make things worst, they went ahead and bomb UN building,so what did  they expert?may be they thought it will help them achieve their selfish political gain cool

Northern Governors pay Wages to Us Monthly. - Boko Haram.
Shocking as it may sound, the terror group and their leader, Imam Abubakar Shekau, who is currently hiding away in Qoundere, Cameroun dropped this bombshell leaving Nigerian last Wednesday.

On the agreement with the Northern governors and the recent attacks, "the reason for Kano and Bauchi states attacks a few days ago were hinged on failed promises by the State governors of the two states".

The entire northern governors have ongoing relationships with the group. Most of them pay us monthly to leave their states alone. - Vanguard.

Kano
Former ANPP governor agreed "in late 2004 for an initial monthly disbursement of N5million, which was later bumped up to N10million in 2009. This includes provision of institutional infrastructural support through the Hisbah (Islam police) project which received yearly budgetary allocation of N1.01billion.
The new Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso stopped the money and the funding of the 'Islam Police'.
"We concluded on Kano in December 2011. The abrupt end to the oil subsidy strike and protests served an opportunity for the group to strike. The preparatory work for the attack and the selection of targets had already been completed".

Boko Haram leader, Imam Abubakar Shekau gave a go-ahead-order to the attack before leaving for cameroon last Wednesday and estimated number of casualties was calculated to net 300 minimum.

Bauchi
The agreement was made in 2008, "A monthly disbursement of N10million, provision of training grounds on the many mountains scattered in Bauchi State. There was also promise of security against arrests by the Federal Government. Bauchi governor stopped the monthly fund in mid 2011, Boko Haram source claimed that "they were not happy but remained loyal to the agreement because of the unfettered access to the mountains of Bauchi as training camps".

The Terrorist group claimed that the northern governors are overwhelmed about the strength of group. "They are aware of capabilities of the Boko Haram operatives in their respective states". Some of the State government officials visit their training camps to watch the training exercises. "We train harder than the Nigerian military and they see it".

Nigerians should have known better!

Pakistanis!! country with nuclear war head and they are still battling with both sympathizers and Alqaida, talkless of Nigeria, terrorism cant tackle them with guns and armor tanks, intelligent should be apply which include under cover secret service both state and federal government involved, and they should bring in enough spies to infatuate the region and CC TVS, that way the group can be cornered.

But in Nigeria is very difficult because they have members and sympathizers in security service and 3 tiers of government, which is the same problem Pakistan is battling with,we might be treating  this terror gangs with kids gloves, but they are growing wings, and getting stronger. To me,southerners should avoid the core north and leave it for the indigenous Hausa/Fulani's to handle because some of these terrorist migrate from the neighbouring countries of which their tribe stretch up to chad and other places,if northerners really want to fight this groups so that their region will catch up in millennium development they better fight their brothers with iron hand, federal government might know the sponsors but don't forget without the help of some Hausa elites in the north Jonathan cant do much.

My advice is for the youths of the northern region to use this opportunity to lynch on their elites, that way federal govt  will use the  opportunity to arrest the ones on their list make it public, and it will not look like Jonathan is fighting their supreme leaders they should lead the war.  cool cool
