bittyend: You're an idiot!! What do you manufacture in Igboland that can be exported to the Countries you listed? Get real, Biafran warlord! There is a cargo airport in Anambra and no one uses it, yet you clowns want three airports.

Like I always tell my Igbo friends, if not for Nigeria - Igboland won't be different from Somalia. Most Igbos think after they act - keep living in your delusional world! lipsrsealed

Go back to your spoiled land and start to chop shit like u all do doing the war....you better learn to respect other tribe...keep blaming Awo for your woes....His people are better off not fighting useless war....if you have a reasonable leader like him then, you wouldn't all be begging Fashola to allow you sell Bread and your Okrika products on the street of Lagos

chino11: Why are you wasting your time over that maga. grin Onitsha and Nnewi has the bulk of big time business men and women who travel to all parts of the world on daily basis. My in-law is a good example of this; he is into electronics @ Electro-Mart Onitsha. He travels almost on weekly basis shipping stuffs throgh air and ship cargo.
Infact if there is any part of SE that needs international cargo airport it is Anambra and by extension Enugu state. Anambra Int'l cargo airport is needed urgently to serve the ever rising economic activities @ Onitsha and Nnewi.

I know for sure that Anambra int'l Passenger/cargo airport has been approved for Anambra state. With coming on stream of the refinery, am sure they will hasten the airport project.

One_Naira: Am I the only one that sees this as a evil discovery for Anambra.

Anambra, why can't you people learn to hide your sh1t like the other SE states. Ogini kwa? Una just created more wahalla for una self with this new discovery. Get ready to have your community destroyed, sucked dry and dumped on daily by you know whoms.
guy!! as i said b4 anambra is different state compare to any, am not trying to make other igbo states look inferior but the whole country always dey fear anambra state even other igbos states have accuse us for dragging them to war but forgetting that anambra is the father of Nigeria/BIAFRA that gave them identity and pride to be real igboist.Looking at things as it is i know this is anambra business nothing more, even fear no go allow them to buy any oil wells they see anambra as ojukwu state cooleven my family land for odaekpe which is connected along the river basin we bought a massive land there years ago, so as you can see AK will be the new militant,i will skin anyone alive if they venture cool cool cool
PoliticsRe: South East Nigeria Needs Three International Airports by ak47mann(m): 11:29am On Mar 28, 2012
wirinet: 3 international airports in the south east? shocked. I think some igbo people love ego tripping, they just think of vanities to massage their ego. When igbo land has Huge infrastructural challenges of virtually no motorable roads, no power, no health facilities and gully erosion threatening to swallow the while east and someones priority is international airports. Mind you I am not saying the south east having one airport to serve the whole Region, but three is unrealistic. As igbo land has a relatively small land mass, with good roads, you can reach any part of igbo land from onitsha in less than 2 hrs.
Please tell me how many countries in the world has three international airports even within the industrialized countries. Even Abuja airport which is the international airport serving the capital and most northern states is grossly under utilized.

So please get your priority right. If you ask an average igbo market woman or even trader, international airport would be the least of his worries.
you are a mugu! do you know how many igbo business men and women travel to china and japan on a weekly basis? you people talk too much think b4 u type...........

I think Owerri is entirely out of the equation, the level of airport there is quite okay going by the economic condition of the place. Upgrading their airport to any other level will amount to misappropriation.

Cities like Onitsha and Enugu are long over due for an international airports. Anambra particularly should not go into any form of discussion with any other state, be it neighboring state or otherwise since they have already been approved to build an international airport very close to the refinery site in Otuocha. The airport is 15min to Onitsha via GRA, 25 min to Awka and 40min to Nnewi. I think it is cool.
Abeg i need international airport close to my avenue cool

You have no point, I think you need to sleep.

FYI: Anambra has huge oil and gas in a marketable quantity, in case if you don't know its a thing of joy and not sorrow. It will not be a repetition of ND because the oil company and refinery facility is being owned and run by Anambrans, not SE, not Nigeria, not Shell nor Chevron, but Anambra people.

So the whole money will flow within, around and in Anambra for greater economic development.
On point nwanne cool
PoliticsRe: Orient Petroleum Strikes Oil In Anambra by ak47mann(m): 10:57pm On Mar 27, 2012
Mr Everest: This is great news for many reasons,1 Orient petroleum is owned by indigenous Anambra people with headquarters here, the money will flow within the state unlike shell,Mobil and other Multinationals that repatriate their profit to their home countries, 2 the multiplier effect can not be overemphasized because other allied industries will emerge and the fact that it is located in a state with high entrepreneurship, investors would not be a problem. As a geologist, it is a known fact to us that Anambra basin has commercial quantities of hydrocarbon reserves but politics of bitterness had been an impediment. finally for those pessimists that are mentioning niger delta, be informed that Anambra situated in a flat sedimentary rainforest terrain unlike the N.D that is located in an inhospitable mangrove vegetation with its attendant ecological problems. Thank God the oil blocks was not sold to the likes of evil genius IBB,OBJ or Danjuma, so turn the rig, open the pump head and let the oil flow cool cool on a lighter note for those claiming to have struck oil in kwara, Zamfara or Borno please take it easy because it does not work that way but hopefully in the next epoch when the bodies of people killed by boko haram must have fossilized, you might be able to discover oil grin grin grin

ACM10: Haba AK!

Which General Hospital Onitsha are you talking about? undecided

Is it not the one at Awka Road besides
Guinness Specialist Eye Hospital?

Am I right?

The only facelift he gave to that hospital is the erection of a giant billboard in front of the hospital with his larger than life image interspersed with ANIDS propaganda.

The hospital is glorified primary health centre.

Doctors don't even have the basic equipment to work with. There is chronic shortage of drugs. Consultant/specialist don't work there because of inability of the state govt to pay them. Even though, Nigeria Medical Association, Onitsha chapter are using the uncompleted building in its vicinity as there meeting venue. The only services they offers mostly is maternity services.

Pls cite an example with hospital in the hinterland. Your spin here has hit a snag.

I laugh at the flower designs. grin
u are right in a way but i can tell you i knew that hospital in and out since 1988 till date i knew how the doctors quarters used to look compare to now,i don't use the hospital but my house share the same fence with the doctors quarters which is actually in G.R.A, the hospital is massive so i haven't been to the whole part lately but i can context on some changes recently done in doctors quarters both junior and senior quarters....................

archangel1: some nairalanders in this trend make me laugh. the man Peter obi, has a mission to fulfill in his state. he is laying fundamental developments -access roads to river-line areas, state teaching hospital, state secretariat, bridges linking agricultural based communities, interlinking rural roads etc- which his predecessors neglected over the decades.he is using ANIDS to effect all the sectors perhaps not to make cheap popularity(airport, street-lighting etc) to lay foundation for his successors. the problem with this man is that he is 'stingy'(prudence)and not sharing money to elites like his predecessors did.but the man is honestly performing. ANAMBRA STATE IS MOST DIFFICULT STATE TO BE GOVERNED IN NAIJA. IF you DOUBT , YOU RELOCATE.IF U DON'T SHARE THE MONEY , YOU ARE NOT PERFORMING.... SHIKENAN grin cheesy grin gringrin

PoliticsGunmen Attack American Embassy In Abuja by ak47mann(op): 11:52am On Mar 27, 2012
BY KINGSLEY OMONOBI & VICTORIA OJEME
ABUJA— The United States of America Embassy in Nigeria’s capital Abuja, came under attack yesterday by unknown gunmen.

Details of the attack were sketchy, but it was learnt that the gunmen were over-powered by superior fire of a combined team of security men on guard at the embassy located along the Diplomatic Drive, Central Business District.

According to reports, several shots were heard within the vicinity of the embassy in the afternoon, when the Ambassador was having a meeting with staff of the embassy. The internal security had to set off the alarm and got everyone to take cover.

It was gathered that as the shooting was going on everyone within the embassy ran for dear life before the situation was brought under control. Two suspected assailants were apprehended and taken into custody at the end of the incident.

The embassy has been under heavy security watch since the attack on the United Nations Building in Abuja, last year. It has been heavily barricaded, while fierce-looking security men keep watch around its vicinity.

A terse statement by the US authorities confirming the incident said, “we believe there were shots fired in the vicinity of the U.S. Embassy. The Nigerian authorities have two individuals in custody. We refer you to the Nigerian police for further information.”

Strangely however, the police authorities in Abuja denied knowledge of the shooting and the arrest of the two individuals at the scene of the incident.

When contacted, the FCT Police Public Relations officer, Superintendent of Police Jimoh Moshood, told Vanguard that some senior police officers had been dispatched to the embassy to ascertain what really happened. An Anti-Terrorist Squad and Bomb disposal units were also said to have been deployed to carry out investigations about the alleged shooting incident but they said nothing of such happened.
