On the 22nd of November we had a clean up of the community where our lodge was situated. It's was an effort to tell the individuals around to be for sanitation conscious

We then went for a sensitisation exercise on the same day to Best way Academy. We delivered a lecture on Sanitation and hygiene. As usual we donated brooms, baskets and Izal to help with sanitation

The CDS group carried out two activities on the 15th of Nov. Firstly, it launched a donated tank in UK academy

The CDS group also donated items like brooms, pakers, izal and dustbins to help maintaining cleanliness in the school

At that juncture I was hand the reigns of the environmental CDS and my first activity was to carry
a sensitization on the 21st of October a on the importance of good hygiene and sanitation in Government day junior secondary school, Feshingo.

An interactive session was held on 9th September to talk about Global Warming, to further buttress the importance of the tree planting exercise and also how to take care of their immediate environment

Every child was given the opportunity to plant a tree

Our journey continued on 9th August 2018 ten HSE club members accompanied the NYSC CDS member to participate in an In-plant tree planting campaign aimed at teaching them the importance of the activity.

We donated dustbins, brooms, dustpans and kettles to facilitate good hygiene and sanitation.

My name is Mohammed Abdulkadir, I am a Corp member serving in Gombe state with state code GM/18A/1656. I want to share my CDS stories and experience to serve as motivation for other Corp member. It is without doubt that these little gesture help not only in improving the reputation of Corp member but also the standard of living of the immediate community. If we could all pitch in a make a difference it could go long way in improving the country as a whole.

With the help of a few colleagues, I founded The Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) club. It's main aim was creating awareness on Environmental management, and developing a positive health and safety culture. The club was targeted at children in primary and secondary schools specifically in the Ashaka community. The Club has been working in collaboration with the NYSC Environmental CDS.

The club was officially launched at our pioneer school Umar ibn Kattab Academy (UK) on the 26th of July, 2018.
