IslamAppearance Of Angel Of Death at the time of death by akanke79(op):
Zuhri has narrated from Anas b. Malik that he said "I heard the Messenger of Allah (S) say, 'There is not a single house which exists except that the Angel of Death visits it five times a day. If the lives of any of the people who live in the house or those who are within the house are written to come to an end, then he brings death upon that person.

Foreign AffairsLow Birth Rate "Approaching Epidemic" In Denmark by akanke79(op): 6:05pm On Jul 12, 2013
Medical professionals encourage government to create incentives for couples to have more children
Could a little Boyz II Men lead to a few more of these in Denmark?
The birth rate among Danish women is dangerously low, according to a recently-published report from the Copenhagen hospital, Rigshospitalet. The 57,916 children born in 2012 represent the lowest number in several years. By comparison, more than 65,000 children were born in 2008.

Even though most couples, when asked, say that they would like to have two or three children, more than one in five couples end up childless and the current rate of 1.7 children per family is not enough to maintain the current population.

Part of the problem is that there are fewer women in the country of childbearing age. Couples are also waiting longer to start families, which often makes conception harder, and recent studies have also pointed to low sperm quality in Danish men.

Researchers from Rigshospitalet encouraged the government to make it more attractive for young couples to start a family.

"Many wait too long to have children, creating a greater need for fertility treatments,” Søren Ziebe, a clinical supervisor at Rigshospitalet, wrote in the report. “There is a need to raise awareness, as the problem is approaching epidemic levels."

Ziebe and the other researchers pointed out that in the 1970s, the average age that a woman gave birth to her first child was 24 years old. Today, the average age is 29 and the number of women that are waiting until they are over 35 to conceive is increasing.

"The understanding that we are, reproductively speaking, very old when we reach that age, is being forgotten,” wrote the researchers. “We are living longer, but the period in which we should be having children remains the same.”

More and more couples are using fertility treatments to conceive. Every tenth child in the country is born after fertility treatments.

"Women are waiting longer, and that causes problems in getting the children they want, and fertility treatments do not always solve the problem," Katrine Bay, one of the researchers involved with the report, told Politiken newspaper.

Jørgen Grinsted, a doctor from the private fertility clinic Trianglen, confirmed that both the number of customers and the age of females seeking treatment are rising. Today, more than 40 percent of the women in his clinic are over 40 years old. In 2011, the clinic started fertility treatments for more than 2,000 women, compared to just over 1,000 in 2004.

Grinsted recommended that the government allow women to keep their eggs frozen at clinics for longer than the currently allowed five years. That would enable a healthy 23-year-old to freeze her eggs when young and use them when she was older and ready to have children.

"It would put women on more equal footing with men,” Grinsted told Politiken. “I believe that women should be allowed to keep their eggs frozen until they are 46, the last year they can get fertility treatments in Denmark.”

The Rigshospitalet researchers want parliament to establish a working group of professionals, government leaders and patients to work on the low birth rate problem.

Recently faced with a similar dilemma, Russian president Vladimir Putin is rumoured to have invited the R&B group Boyz II Men to sing their romantic ballads like ‘I’ll Make Love to You’ at a pre-Valentine’s Day concert in an attempt to inspire the populace to take matters into their ends and nudge up the birth rate.

Although it is unclear how much direct contact Putin had in booking the band, the idea that he was involved is not farfetched, based on some his earlier policies. In 2007, he started the ‘Mother Russia’ program that paid mothers who had a second child the Russian equivalent of 50,000 kroner. Thanks to the initiative, Russia's fertility rate has increased.

Christianity EtcArctic Muslims' Unique Dilemma In Ramadan: The Sun Never Sets Here by akanke79(op): 2:57pm On Jul 12, 2013
How do you observe dawn-to-dusk fasting when there is neither dawn nor dusk?

It's a question facing a small but growing number of Muslims celebrating the holy month of Ramadan on the northern tip of Europe, where the the sun barely dips below the horizon at this time of year.

In Rovaniemi, a northern Finland town that straddles the Arctic Circle at 66 degrees north, the sun rises around 3:20 a.m. and sets about 11:20pm. That means Muslims who observe Ramadan could be required to go without food or drink for 20 hours.

In a few years, Ramadan will begin even closer to the summer solstice in late June, when the sun doesn't set at all.

"We have to use common sense," said Mahmoud Said, 27, who came to Finnish Lapland from Kenya three years ago.

To Said, that means following the fasting hours of the nearest Muslim country: Turkey.

"It involves 14 or 15 hours of fasting which is okay, it's not bad," said Said, who works for a non-governmental organization helping immigrants settle in the area. He estimates there are a little over 100 Muslims in Rovaniemi, mainly from Iraq, Somalia and Afghanistan.

There is no unanimity on how to deal with the issue, which is becoming more pressing as more Muslim immigrants find their way to sparsely inhabited areas near the Arctic.

In Alaska, the Islamic Community Center of Anchorage, "after consultation with scholars," advises Muslims to follow the fasting hours of Makkah, Islam's holiest city.

The Dublin-based European Council for Fatwa and Research, however, said Muslims need to follow the local sunrise and sunset, even up north.

"The debate on how to do this in the north has been on going on for a few years," said Omar Mustafa, the chairman of the Islamic Association of Sweden. "We fast according to the sun. As long as it is possible to tell dusk from dawn. This applies to 90 per cent of Sweden's Muslims."

The few Muslims who live so far north that they are awash in 24-hour daylight should follow the daylight hours the closest city in Sweden where you can tell dawn from dusk, he said, noting that it's permitted to break the fast for health reasons.

Kaltouma Abakar and her extended family of nine relatives came to Finland from Sudan's Darfur region four years ago. She opts to observe the local Lapland sunrise and sunset times before breaking the fast in her downtown Rovaniemi apartment.

Kaltouma explains that she gets up early and works until the afternoon, then starts cooking the family's iftar meal around 5 p.m.

"The time of Ramadan fasting is very long, and breaking the fast can be around 11:30 in the evening. The time you're supposed to eat your breakfast is 2 o'clock in the morning," the 31-year old said.

In the kitchen, Kaltouma's two daughters — aged 11 and 6 — help prepare the food. They fry chicken and pastries filled with tuna in scalding hot oil. A pot of rice simmers on the stove while one girl kneads cornmeal dough which they'll dip into a chicken broth and eat with their fingers — traditional Sudanese style — a few hours later.

Apart from the late sunset times, Kaltouma said the lack of "Muslim food" locally in Rovaniemi can be a challenge. She sometimes has to wait several days for halal meat and other traditional ingredients to come from the larger cities of Oulu, or Helsinki in the south.

Even though, technically, there is nightfall in Rovaniemi at this time of year, there is no true darkness. Instead, there's a grey gloaming with occasional dappled rays of sun reaching over the northern horizon, giving the city a mystical quality even in the supposed dead of night.

The dates of Ramadan change according to the lunar calendar, moving back 11 days each year. That means that by 2015 there will be no sunset for a month when Ramadan falls closer to midsummer.

Still, Kaltouma says "there is going to be at least 10 minutes for us to break the fast."

She said there is one positive aspect of observing long fasting hours in the Arctic during Ramadan: the cool temperatures.

"Unlike Africa, here in Finland you don't get thirsty often. No matter how long you fast, you don't get the urge for water.

Ramadan Fast: 15 hours in UAE, 20 in Sweden, just 9 in Argentina
By

Published Wednesday, July 10, 2013

Muslims in the Gulf face one of the toughest fasting months this year as Ramadan comes in the middle of the scorching desert summer and involves one of the longest fasting times that exceed 15 hours a day in the first week of the holy month.

Muslims living in the region already know this but most of them probably do not know that such a long fasting period here is dwarfed by the fasting hours for Muslims living in such countries in the Northern Hemisphere as Sweden, Denmark and Finland, where the day could stretch to more than 20 hours.

But this period is an average in the southern parts of those countries, the capital and surrounding areas.

Further north in Sweden and Iceland for example, it never gets dark in most of June and this means that the day could be as long as 24 hours in Ramadan 2015.

“Islam is very clear regarding fasting. It says Muslims must refrain from food and drinks from just before dawn until sunset, but there are exceptions as our religion has always been flexible,” said Sheikh Abdul Basit Dirawi, an Abu Dhabi-based preacher.

“For example, when a fasting Muslims travels by plane to a distant area, the sun could be rising instead of setting. In such a case, he should make a logical estimation. In areas, where the sun never sets, he just has to follow the pattern of the nearest city where it gets dark or seek advice from the nearest scholars if possible.”

On the opposite end of the planet, Muslims in such countries as Argentina enjoy the shortest day, with an average of only around nine hours, below half Sweden’s day.

In Australia, where a large Muslims community lives, the day is little longer than in South America, averaging around 10 hours through Ramadan, which coincides with winter in that continent.

Weather effect

But before you rush to feel sorry for Muslims in the Northern Hemisphere, you should take the weather into consideration.

While the weather in the Northern Hemisphere remains mild in summer and temperatures are relatively low, not exceeding 25 degree, Ramadan in the Arabian Peninsula comes during the hottest period of the year.

Temperatures could be as high as double those in Sweden, with the Saudi government Met centre expecting them to climb to 50 deg C in some areas.

“Ramadan this year comes in the midst of summer which starts on June 21 until September 22. Climatic forecasts show that Ramadan will be very hot and humid and temperatures will climb to record levels in some areas,” the centre said.

It said temperatures in eastern Saudi Arabia, where coastal Gulf countries are located, could soar to 50 degrees in some days during Ramadan while they would range between 40 and 48 in most other parts of the Kingdom.

Sweden & Finland

In recent comments, a Muslim scholar in Sweden said the principles of fasting during Ramadan are clear and that Muslim there must fast all the day.

“There is still day and night, so Muslims should just follow the rule that you fast during the hours of daylight. Sometimes Ramadan falls in the winter, and then the hours of daylight are very short,” Sheikh Mahmoud Khalfi said.

While insisting strict observance of the fasting rules might sound a bit tough on Swedish Muslims, Khalfi noted that fasting can be tough for people in Muslim countries too.

“In very warm countries, such as those in the Sahara, it is not easy, but people fast the whole day anyway,” he said, adding that there were advantages other than the knowledge that people were observing their religious duties.

“It strengthens your will and strengthens your patience. You learn to control your inner desire. It also teaches solidarity with the poor - those who have nothing to eat.”

According to Omar Mustafa, president of the Islamic League in Sweden, there is still no agreement on how Muslims in northern Europe should observe the fast.

"Several imams and organisations have different opinions. It is up to each individual to decide, nut it is not meant that you should fast around the clock. Islam provides many options," Mustafa told a Swedish newspaper recently.

In Finland, a newspaper quoted a Muslim Bangladeshi as saying he was fasting an average 21 hours during Ramadan last year.

“It does not get dark here. It always looks the same.

“The sun is always on the horizon” said Shah Jalal Miah Masud said, who lives in Rovaniemi, nearly 830 kilometres (515 miles) north of the capital Helsinki.

"It is quite difficult to get what the time is actually right now. It is 11 o'clock in the evening and the sun has only just started to dip below the horizon.”

According to a Muslim Imam in Finland, there is another option which reduces the number of fasting hours – mark its duration by the rising and setting of the sun in countries far to the south of Finland.

Imam Abdul Mannan, president of the Islam Society of Northern Finland, said there are two schools of thought in this respect.

"The Egyptian scholars say that if the fasting days are long - more than 18 hours - then you can follow the Mecca time or Medina time, or the nearest Muslim country time,” he said.

“The other point of view from the Saudi scholars says whatever the day is -- long or short -- you have to follow the local time."

FamilySwedish High School Student Fails Bio Class For Saying Homosexuality ‘abnormal’ by akanke79(op): 4:14pm On Jul 02, 2013
LONDON, July 27, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) — A Swedish high-school student recently failed a biology class for saying that homosexuality is abnormal, according to Swedish national news-site, svt.se.

The site reports that a grade 8 student at Nynäshamn Highschool in Stockholm County, Sweden, expressed the opinion that homosexuality was “onormalt” — literally “abnormal” — and, as a result, received a failing grade.

When the student questioned the grade, the teacher reportedly replied that it was because of the student’s opinions. The goal of the school’s curriculum, the teacher said, was that students show respect for different sexual orientations, and the student’s views did not correspond with that goal.

The student’s parents reported the case to the school board, who investigated the case. The board concluded that the school should have provided extra support and the teacher should have informed the parents, when it became clear that the student was at risk of failing. However, the school board will not take any action since the student has completed upper elementary school.

When the story hit the news, it sparked a vigorous debate on Swedish social media network Flashback Forum. Anonymous commentators discussed the incident, one expressing the concern that it was “another step in the direction of a Sweden without free speech.”

Another member declared, “This shows that the Swedish school system is an indoctrination centre… The Swedish school should teach students to think critically and have their own opinions, but here we have one student who chose to have a non-politically correct opinion and was punished for it.”

Which is the true religion, Christianity or Islam ?

Is Jesus God?

Does the Bible teach that Jesus is God?

What do Muslims believe about Jesus? Is he a prophet or more than a prophet?

Sheikh Abdullah al-Faisal is an internationally respected Islamic Scholar. He is a graduate of Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University in Saudi Arabia and has lectured in 22 countries worldwide including the uk.

The author of the books: Natural Instincts: Islamic Psychology, 100 Fabricated Hadith and Religion is Sincerity, is also a member of Britain's Islamic Shariah Council.

This husband and father of four, has been actively involved in social services through out London's thriving Islamic community for more than 10 years.

He has declared his vision of Islam as the future for Jamaica after being deported there from the UK following his imprisonment for inciting to " racial hatred ".

Sheikh Abdullah al-Faisal has warned the Christian leaders of Jamaica to "beware" as he sets off on a preaching mission to see "Jamaicans renounce Christianity and become Muslims".

In his first interview since his deportation in May, al-Faisal describes Christianity as "false" and "blasphemous".

On October 3rd 2007 Sheikh Abdullah al-Faisal and Bishop Joseph Ade Gold engaged in a debate on Television Jamaica's (TVJ) Religious Hard Talk on the topic
Christianity or Islam, Where is the truth?

Speaking to presenter Ian Boyne, Sheikh Abdullah states that "Christians are pagans because they worship three gods".

Foreign AffairsRe: Muslim Riots In Sweden by akanke79: 5:56pm On May 31, 2013
THE REASON FOR THE STOCKHOLM RIOT

Police fatally shot a 69-year-old man in an apartment in north Stockholm on Monday evening after responding to calls that a man armed with a machete was menacing the neighbourhood.

Police were called to an address in the Husby district, north of central Stockholm, around 6pm on Monday following several reports that a knife-wielding man was roaming around the area.

"He had a knife or a machete. When we arrived, this person disappeared into an apartment," Stockholm police spokesman Lars Byström told the TT news agency.

The man then stood on the balcony of the apartment and threatened police.

"He screamed at police from the balcony that he wanted to kill them," a neighbour told the Expressen newspaper.

Negotiators were called in and police subsequently learned that a woman was also in the apartment. After negotiations failed to yield any results, police then decided to break down the door and storm the flat in hopes of securing the woman's safety.

"Then the person in question appeared holding a machete. Officers felt cornered and threw a flash grenade so they could overpower the man. That didn't work either and they then felt forced to open fire," said Byström.

It's unclear how many officers fired shots and exactly how many shots were fired, but according to witnesses, police fired five or six shots before things went silent.

"We saw the flashes when they shot. Even if you'd never sees an actual shooting before, you knew what it was," a witness told Expressen.

The 69-year-old man was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead from his gunshot wounds.

The woman in the flat escaped the incident without sustaining any physical injuries, according to police. The woman's relationship to the man remains unknown.

The incident is now under investigation by prosecutors from the Swedish National Police Crimes Unit (Riksenheten för polismål).

Abu Nusaybah: "They (MI5) asked him if he'd be interested in working for them"

MI5 asked Woolwich murder suspect Michael Adebolajo if he wanted to work for them about six months before the killing, a childhood friend has said.

Abu Nusaybah told BBC Newsnight his friend - one of two men arrested after Drummer Lee Rigby's murder in south-east London on Wednesday - had rejected the approach from the security service.

Abu Nusaybah was arrested at the BBC after giving the interview.

The Met Police said a 31-year-old man had been arrested at 21:30 BST on Friday in relation to suspected terrorism offences and search warrants were being executed at two homes in east London.

The arrest was not directly related to the murder of Drummer Rigby, it said.

In his Newsnight interview, Abu Nusaybah said that, six months ago, his friend was "basically being harassed by MI5, this is something that he specifically mentioned to me".

He added: "His wording was, 'They are bugging me - they won't leave me alone.'

Michael Adebolajo was filmed after the attack
"He mentioned initially they wanted to ask him if he knew certain individuals.

"But after him saying that he didn't know these individuals, what he said was they asked him if he would be interested in working for them.

"He was explicit in that he refused to work for them but he did confirm he didn't know the individuals."

Mr Adebolajo, 28, originally from Romford, east London, and fellow suspect Michael Adebowale, 22, of Greenwich, south-east London, had been known to MI5 for eight years, Whitehall sources told the BBC on Thursday.

Abu Nusaybah said the approaches followed Mr Adebolajo's detention by security forces on a trip to Kenya late last year.

Abu Nusaybah said his friend suggested he had been physically and sexually abused during an interrogation in a prison cell in the African country.

PoliticsIs Mark Zuckerberg David Rockefeller’s Grandson? by akanke79(op): 11:55am On May 08, 2013

Ok so this Greenberg / Zuckerberg thing is getting weirder by the second.

A Jacob Greenberg was arrested for possession of Marijuana and this mugshot was taken. It was later revealed that this could indeed be the man the world knows as Mark Zuckerberg.

His family members include David Rockefeller, his Grandfather. A little strange because Rothschild owns 8% of Facebook shares. Both Rothschild and Rockefeller are well known names….TAP with One World Government associations.

and his other granpa….greenberg…CEO of AIG

TAP – Facebook was funded with $500 million from a CIA owned bank, which was a
bit suspicious. I wonder if Google has similar disguised progeny.

Zuckerberg means ‘sugar mountain’.

That’s their secret word for Facebook no doubt. A mountain of information from
which they can extract billions. Bill Gates comes from a multibillionaire eugenicist
family, which was kept well hidden in the early years of Microsoft. The same
families control it all.
CelebritiesZurich Resident Tina Turner Becomes Swiss by akanke79(op): 9:25pm On May 07, 2013
The news was trumpeted by Blick and other Swiss-German newspapers on Friday.

Turner, 73, has lived near Zurich since 1995, making a mansion in Küsnacht, overlooking Lake Zurich, her principal residence.

“I am very happy in Switzerland and I feel at home here,” she told Blick.

“I could not imagine a better place to live.”

Blick said Turner, whose real name is Anna Mae Bullock, had to undergo an interview with officials in Küsnacht before the municipality approved her “naturalization”.

The singer, who has sold 200 million records, first came to Zurich when her longtime partner, German music manager Erwin Bach was transferred to the Swiss city.

American rock singer Tina Turner has become a Swiss citizen.

The eight-time Grammy Award winner retired from performing in 2009.

A spokesperson for Turner told Blick that she appreciates the cleanliness, orderliness and four seasons of Switzerland.

And the native of Tennessee is reportedly learning German “diligently”.

So opens a new chapter for the woman with the husky voice once known for the “most famous legs in show business".

Turner long ago turned the page on a tumultuous relationship with Ike Turner, her violent ex-husband and former musical partner, who died in 2007.

After touring the world over, she would never again live elsewhere, and is enjoying simply being a “private person,” Blick reported.
