Business / Re: Insult: MTN Locates West African Headquarters In Ghana by Akeemos: 9:46pm On Jan 12, 2010
naijacutee:

Why the rage, emotion and insults? The guy has only spoken the truth. MTN is a business operating to increase their stakeholder value and does not really care. They only care about where they can have low operating costs so that they can maximise their profits. That's the truth, and I don't see how this relates to someone being out of the country. Abi you don't know that many Nigerians abroad will do anything to come back home? (Well, as soon as the business environment is condusive)

Cuteee, WHat brings down cost? investment in the appropriate instruments that would drive it. What has MTN done to sincerely drive this development?
Glo single handed laid an intercontinental submarine fibre cable optic which will bring down the cost of calls to almost free. It has therefore fixed the need of the country in an area which will enable it drive down cost.

Who has made more money?! MTN is just stupid

You see what i mean, most nigerians have second hand brains they refuse to use, excluding me of course. When it comes to business and what makes a business succeed they always refuse to shift the position of their empty heads. Even if they get a hard knock from thier maker they still refuse to use those brains stuck between their ears.

MTN management does not care about your unemployment people, if you care about that give you rulers a ring. What would make their business increase profit year on year is their business.

To control those empty headed university educated staff in Nigeria is a nightmare to behold. If i have the opportunity to move my business out of Nigeria i will do so quick,

MTN i say congratulation,  wink

@Lagos boy, check this out:
Yemen and Nigeria, One thing in common, a troubled leadership, seemingly non existence. A huge threat to the world according to the US, next 20 000 actually, since Saudi Arabia ain't the biggest admirer  of this country, it might just take 7,000 troops to overrun the divided country, a well ochestrated work of the US using S.A to do that and the same script is playing out here only that this time, they have the luxury of the not just ethnic divide but religious option to play with too and that seem to have been working as greatly highlighted here. However, Iran likes a part of this country, the U.S could want to use Yemen as the testing ground for the nuclear might of Iran. Very nice plan, not bad. With the Nigeria in the middle of this all, Nigeria would want to negotiate a shift in ground in AFRICOM to avoid a backlash.
THAT'S IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guys, calm all the fraying nerves down. the young man was just plain stupid playing along with the corrupt US military and CIA. This is all a charade and the truth would only come out when one of the actors decides to write a book when he is neck deep in debt, as Americans would do, One month, I expect an American to write a stupid book on this incident and watch out for a line that would lead to the truth, AFRICOM, using the guy as a bait to catch a top Al-Qaeda guy, short of all, it is all staged managed. The guy is going to disappear soon after the whole thing die down and then the next country to be invaded would be YEMEN, there is enough evidence to move in now. mark my word guys but expect a lot of scuffles in the Nigerian top hierarchy in coming days, all US plan. Watch the  story unfold.

Some peoples' contributions are just too freaking myopic and it is really killing me. I wonder why we want to get involve in some silly religious bickering when we could be more intellectual. I wonder why it is so difficult for not to be gullible.
Do your research, believe what you want to but right now, more than ever, we need to stand up for our country and not take the torrist stamp as much as the whole drama does not match, it backside for me, as a badly rehearsed play being turned into a movie shot on celluloid but we choose not to go to the cinemas now they are putting it on CD but we can still choose not to buy!
It is all orchestrated!!! This is about the easiest case to crack without being a detective.

Apart from international terrorism, how many times have riots erupted in Britain in the past 10 years? Then how many Christians have been killed in the North in the past 10 years in Nigeria? Nigeria is a mis-match. It needs to split along cultural and religious lines.Do you know how many poor northern boys who will be willing to take up arms in the name of Allah is if they had the means of boarding airplanes?

Politics / Re: Nigerian Man Attempts To Detonate Explosive On Delta Flight In US by Akeemos: 11:06am On Dec 26, 2009
Stanloski, the question was actually meant for my good friend metal-Gong grin

The guy got on the freaking plane because he is on the payroll of the American but the CIA could be silly, sometimes I wonder why people are so full of praise for them, not to realize the mentality of a people, Nigerians might not have 24hours electricity supply but they would not do that, they would rather collect the money and never commit suicide. the script writer messed up big time.

I am really feeling you Lagos boy, u sure do have a great sense of connect and intuition. The handwriting is on the wall, the only solution here is for us to fight for our country because this might be a truly turning point in the history of our lives and more importantly, our future generation. Americans never expected nigeria to stand up to them as regards the AFRICOM thing, now they are getting those Niger Delta boys to get back at the Nation and they seem to have failed at least temp. on that front, now they  think they can sell the same storyline to the world as they did other countries to impose their people and their will. We would just have to show them that we are more intelligent than they are. Mutallab was just the Judas that almost disintegrated our country!!!!

I expect our media to be very sensible this time in reporting this and not just cull news  from the foreign wires for people,  Mutallab father is supposed to have given a press conference by now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This coming week, every bleeping cable news shows will be on the "threat" from nigeria.

Without doubt sir/ma, expect it.

debosky:

What is it with the ridiculous denials here? He is a Nigerian national - till contrary evidence comes out he will be regarded as a Nigerian.

If you thought there were issues getting visas before now, it might get a lot worse after this.

My main concern is how did someone with 'significant terrorist' links get admitted on a plane or not subjected to stringent checks?

Was hoping metal gong would have answered that, stanloski (cheers) Metal Gong, why was he not on the no fly list?

slimes:

The mumu tried to expode 'banga'

grin very funny. It is research think by the Americans, the misguided young man messed up big time. If he truly was going to blow up the plane, would he not have done that over the sea or something. why on US soil and the rate of confession with the seemingly well acted movie as the passengers are painting a heroic act by the other passenger who definitely was in on the plan all along!

Sweet T, Common.
Lagosboy:

At last something good i can discuss with you!!

Now Nothing is strategic for US except oil in the gulf of guniea and minerals in central africa. Nigerias location in the gulf of guniea is of gret importance to Africom and protecting the movement and extrction of oil from that place , Nigeria would be excellent.
Lagosboy:

This could be another way of getting Africom to nigeria through the backdoor. The US sight has never left Nigeria and this Nigeria Nigeria thingy on the media might be a bad omen in the making. Abeg make US no bring AQ to Nigeria o, because bringing africom is like turning Naija inot anither Iraq. The sweet oil of Niger delta is just too sweet for them to leave alone.

Nigeria currently has no leader and this could all be a grand scheme to medlein nigerias affairs. some said fox news repoerted nigeria has being in engaged in a 10 year civil war btw muslims and christians. Where the heck did they get that from. I honestly smeel a rat here.

Smart submission guys. You are getting the picture perfectly. AFRICOM is a major case here! Now this is the deal.

alright, everyone, let's be more intellectual in our submission and quit all this religion bashing. I am still waiting for a visionary who see beyond all of this charade!
As a muslim, I was never taught to 'kill' others and considering the young man is clearly educated makes me scared and puts one in a tight corner but it is clear enough that a true muslim who knows his religion well would condemn this act in all its' entirety as intention remains a basis of judgment in the religion. I don't think the question is about him being a Nigerian or muslim, I am more concerned about the pattern of the whole scheme, being the son of a wealthy Nigerian, even makes a very easy one for the CIA, to deceive Nigerians into believing their countrymen are terrorists, to perpetuate their grand scheme of taking charge of the country, they are about to install their people in position. I need someone that can think and rise above all these religious hop! The Nigerian President is about to resign anyway from intelligence report.
This whole thing is a hoax! They created Al-Qaeda and try remembering, all the whole countries they have invaded, how it all started. AfriCom is the basis for these and they are practically trying to imprint the bad picture of our country to the whole world by using their media and notice the trend of how the media would ensure that the Nigeria, Nigerian and then they would add analysis of how crisis has taken over Nigeria, would rent the airwaves. It is beyond the young chap who I strongly believe was a victim of a stupid research by the American government in their quest to take out their shadow. A monster they created themselves and now scared of the adult monsters.
sweet T? shocked, without sounding insultive, please i think you should get off this thread for a while and tone down your foul language. thanks

Great News, Neil Livingstone, thinks Nigeria is a problematic area and short of ridiculous.

Here is the real news though, "THE US GOVERNMENT ARE NOW WORKING WITH THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT ON SECURITY" does this line sound familiar?

Uhmmm, Like Glenn Beck would say, Ahhhhhhhh, IRAQ?, Uhm AFGANISTAN , It is just a gradual thing, the next line would likely be, We have to protect America from terrorist state like Nigeria because earlier this quarter, a map released showed Majority of Nigeria as a terrorist state! this is a well written script, am done with this. Nigerian or no Nigerian?
I need another set of information please. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

naijaway:

Retarded muslims are in the open again. The US and others including china are aware of the difference in nigerian extremism. They might have under estimated nigerian hardcore muslims but i thank God it didn't take a complete chaos to figure that out. Now, every nigerian will be looked upon in a more suspicious way coming into the USA but i hope they don't get over board with their suspicions because they will have a lot of law suits to hurdle. This will shed a new light as to if bin laden is/visits nigeria because i cannot disapprove such thoughts due to many northern nigerian muslim extremism. The bad side to this is that they might start terrorist acts in populated christian states in Nigeria but God and intelligent forces will subdue them. Merry christmas to free/wish to be free, loving, and grateful people.

Naijaway, obvious, you write well and it shows it is not hard for you take through the cloud, but I believe you could be deep in your expressions too?

I just heard on the world's dumbest rich news network (FOX NEWS) that Nigeria Airports do not have scanners?!!!! They said the baggage just slide through and that's it (even local flights are scanned!!!). Therefore all flight flying out of Nigeria to America through whatever route should be banned, meaning, i have to buy a ticket to Ghana to catch a flight to America, even if I would have two stopovers to reach it?!!! This is actually a grand script well written and being acted out. America has written so many about our country but it just did not sell, a cool to start restrictions that would allow our government mess up our quite and seemingly recovery. THIS IS JUST THE TRAILER OF THE GRAND SHOW. The DVD is coming to a cinema near you. I don't care if he is a Nigerian but the question is you had him all along on your radar, how did he reach for your soil, he applied for visa saying he was attending a meeting there and visiting some cousins family members and the embassy did not raise any alarm, this is completely laughably and undeniably a stupid indictment of the American secret service!
All said, please, let's stop the religion stabbing and argue intelligently.
Thanks

ezeagu, thank you for your updates but there are all the same stories being read with different adjectives but all synonym. Point is, as a media buff, I believe the Nigerian media should not trail your line of argument and swallow all the news coming from the foreign wires but  do their own research, like I would expect everyone to before commenting. It is boring to just read a piece of developing story and you go to town to proclaim judgment when there are actually precedence to relate the whole thing to. Let's pause a while and think here!
@Ijaw Girl, I think you need to know that you being in Canada does not make you better than those in Nigeria, I would advise you change you nickname from Ijaw, the last time I checked, Ijaw is Nigeria and it does not seem you want to have anything to do with Nigeria but remember we deserve what we get, most times. what have you done to make it the country you would want it to be. You sound like that one that wait for things to happen, you don't make things happen. All said, Ijaw girl, you have a right to your opinion and expression.
Please let's be more objective but cautious about what we say.
ROSSIKE, please, take my sincerest advice, and to everyone, watch the news on any network but FOX!!! No beef but it is far from being a news station, they are just alarmist! They would say all gibberish and overcoat the dessert, you would think a war is going on. please disregard FOX, please!
