Properties / Re: What Percentage Of Your Annual Earning Should Be Paid As House Rent Per Annum by akinbe(m): 11:15pm On Aug 29, 2014
2aces: 10% how on earth can one earn 500k per month and still live in a rat hole of 50k per annum? Unless your will says bury with my money when i die!

I mean 10% of 500k x 12 months = 600k. But how on earth did you think I meant 50k per annum. I dey madt?
Properties / Re: What Percentage Of Your Annual Earning Should Be Paid As House Rent Per Annum by akinbe(m): 9:06pm On Aug 29, 2014
Depends on how much you earn. If you earn 10k monthly and you squat with a friend who has made life a living hell for you, you should use 90% of your salary to get an apartment fast and be free (There is nothing like freedom). However, if you earn as much as 500k monthly but wants to relocate because your daddy still treats you like a baby or you have a wicked landlord or a witch (ayamatanga) landlady, you should use about 10% of your salary.

Briareos: So, lemme get this straight... Nairaland wrote about Derenle. Derenle now tweets what Nairaland wrote about him. Now, Nairaland writes about Derenle's tweet about what Nairaland wrote about him?

So, soon, Derenle will again tweet what Nairaland wrote about him tweeting what Nairaland wrote about him in the first place.

For no good reason, I just love people who can use words like you.

Seun: Do you run a public company? Is it listed on the stock exchange? If not, what makes you think you know better?

I do not run a public business but I have a mentor and godfather who did(He's late now) plus I have read hundreds of books on business and stock and would finger myself as "The One who knows" but not an authority. I have built a business too and lost millions of naira but trying to get myself up again (Building some businesses again), so I have gained some experience here and there having made money and lost them all just like my late godfather and the mentors I admire both home and in America (They later bounced back and I shall too) and trying not to make the same mistake again. I might not seem to you a guru now because I am not as rich as you or have a better business but to those who believe my words and take my advice, blessed have been their businesses.

Living in this world is head-aching, running a business or doing a salary job is tiresome. Why not just nurture the idea of putting your company to the public and face the same headaching and tiresome task if you dont. Its a win win situation or lose lose depending on your view of life.

bluelover: mr. seun thanks for this wonderfully opportunity. Because of your wonderful site the thought of committing suicide has been laid aback for now,

Like seriously? You wanna commit suicide? Please tell me what the problem is; we are family and should help one another.

Seun:
Probably never. Running a public company is no fun. The only advantage of going public is that it can make you a stinkingly rich person like Dangote. In exchange for the constant headache of keeping your large and ever-changing collection of shareholders happy always.

Go and start reading some business books young man. The above statement tell me so much about how you think.

I actually thought it would be too much work for him. I would have asked him who takes care of nairaland for him with all the wahala on the forum.
Btw how much dem dey pay them for bank sef

Now you are talking. Seun to me is intelligent but lacks enough business acumen. He spends much of his time programming, banning, moving stuff to front page, instructing the super mods etc. He should hire people who will do all the head-aching aspect of the job and spend his time to create a 'world'. He should spend much of his time to build his business and not his website (only business minded people will understand this) He should manage Nairaland as a business and not as a website. He should think like Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg and not like David Karp. Mark is a programmer but has programmers who are better than him doing all the work while he travel around the world in search of what people really want online. I am not saying Seun should be like Mark but who says he cant beat Mark. With the resources he has and enough lucre lying fallow his bank account, if he is wise, he would create another website where everyone around the world would embrace, a website that can be sold for as high as 10 billion dollars. Seun, think. I have so much to tell you but I have my own business too.

Obiagelli: Bro, i am female, i work on a poultry farm, keep your assumptions to yourself

Its funny how you think Seun would have another job aside developing Nairaland. The banner ads you see every time you open his website in your browser fetch him naira every blessed month. Now that you know, you will be like: Aaaw, I would like to marry Seun. SMH for girls.

Didn't you get the memo about nerds taking over the world?
Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Larry Page, Marissa Meyer, etc are all nerds.
Why wouldn't I be satisfied? wink

@DJicemob: The mods are volunteers who do what they do not for filthy lucre but for personal fulfillment and enjoyment and influence.. I've never met any moderator in person. The supermods are responsible the front page though of course I try to influence them. I would love to be able to meet every single Nairaland member because we are all worth meeting. E.

@dickdastardly: I was never a cultist, but you already knew that!

You just called lucre 'filthy'. Dont ever use that word again. Lucre is all there are.

Obiagelli: seun do you have another job other than nairaland?
Seun:
Nairaland is severely understaffed, so the idea that I would have the time to get a job somewhere else is almost funny. wink

You're welcome & thanks!

Only a female would ask such question. They believe you only earn enough money when you work in a bank or oil company and robe in suits and expensive shirts that are about 30 percent of your meager salary which they ignorantly think is much.
