solmusdesigns:Must be a very heartless or uninformed man to be the leader of a country with 30 thousand naira minimum wage that cannot buy a bicycle or some common medicine but yet fly around the world in private jet for personal healthcare such as simple ear infection. |
solmusdesigns:When you have a society with 33 percent unemployed, many will take up jobs at minimum wage. You will be surprised how many workers are on minimum wage in private employment because the government allows it |
How do court's fine 10 million and the minimum wage is 30,000 Naira. 1 month's Salary is full car tank of an average car. Nigerians are crying over the price of petrol that the rest of the world has been paying all this while but one very important revelation is how incredibly terrible the Nigerian government has been and how far Nigeria has been left behind. How do you explain to a sane person that 1 liter of petrol is 1000 Naira and that minimum wage is 30 thousand Naira? How can people resist committing crimes for their daily bread in such a hopeless situation? |
Not saying the removal of the Subsidy is a bad thing but for Dangote and his friends to make money they have to sell at an international rate. As of today fuel per litre prices are as follows: UK: ₦1425 US: ₦845 Germany: ₦1524 Tinubu and co are likely big investors. Nigerian government paid fuel Subsidy for years to their corrupt friends to scheme off Nigerians and now that they have built the refinery they remove the Subsidy and continue to live large in unimaginable useless, meaningless, and unproductive wealth. They have really taken Nigerians for a ride and a revolution like Sowore as always proposed might be the only way to redemption. Not only must these thieves vomit what they have stolen from Nigerians, those that should be locked up should be locked up and those that should be banished should be banished to the mercy of countries that can give them Ekweremadu kind of justice. |
Finally, Obi can take a break and a chill pill Election tribunals to shut down as judicial workers announce industrial action over subsidy removal President Bola Tinubu announced the end of the subsidies upon assumption of office last week, a move that immediately set the country on dire economic straits as workers began anticipating draconian changes in the prices of commodities across the country. Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Peter Obi of Labour Party are both challenging Mr Tinubu’s declaration as president at the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal in Abuja. Other tribunals hearing cases ranging from state assembly elections to governorship poll disputes are also expected to be affected by the strike, which begins Wednesday. The judicial workers’ union in a memo dated June 3 said its members would proceed on a solidarity protest strike with the Nigeria Labour Congress, the largest workers affiliate, on Wednesday. “This is to inform all branches and chapters of our great union across Nigeria to begin mobilisation for a nationwide action and withdrawal of service,” the memo, shared with Peoples Gazette late Sunday, said. Isaiah Adetola, one of the JUSUN executives who signed the memo, told The Gazette in a follow-up exchange that the strike would affect all judicial workers, and the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal will have to shut down. “We cannot watch as Nigerian poor masses are dying on the streets because a government said there will be no going back on subsidy removal,” Mr Adetola said. “That cannot be a realistic or acceptable situation for the Nigerian workers.” Mr Adetola said Nigerian workers are not necessarily against removing subsidies on petrol, which have been in place since 1970s, but decried the manner with which Mr Tinubu ordered the policy. Millions of Nigerians are expected to be plunged further into poverty as food prices shoot up across the country. JUSUN, with over 120,000 members, is the latest union from a critical sector to join the budding industrial action led by the NLC. Over the weekend, the National Union of Electricity Employees also informed its members to withdraw services in protest against fuel subsidy removal. Former President Muhammadu Buhari, who vacated office on May 29, had planned that subsidies on petrol would expire by the end of June, eliminating provisions for the critical policy in the 2023 budget. Mr Tinubu, an ally of Mr Buhari’s who had vowed to continue the ruling APC’s policies, swiftly embraced the policy, pronouncing in his inaugural speech on May 29 that “subsidy is gone”. His pronouncement triggered panic across the country as citizens rushed to buy fuel while oil marketers suddenly increased pump prices. Mr Tinubu argued that subsidies on petroleum have, over the decades, benefitted Nigeria’s rich and upper working class to the detriment of the poor. He vowed to divert savings from the removal to shore up infrastructure spending, as well as poverty-alleviation initiatives that target the country’s masses. On May 31, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) announced pump price increases that saw a jump from N195 per litre to over N500 nationwide. https://gazettengr.com/election-tribunals-to-shut-down-as-judicial-workers-announce-industrial-action-over-subsidy-removal/

Nigeria can produce Gold Reserves for African Countries Converting Ajaokuta Steel Company to a gold company would involve a significant change in its operations and focus. While Ajaokuta Steel Company was originally intended to produce steel, converting it to a gold company would mean repurposing the infrastructure and resources for gold mining and processing. However, it's important to note that the Ajaokuta Steel Company is specifically designed for steel production and may not be optimized for gold extraction. That being said, here are a few potential benefits of such a conversion: Economic diversification: Nigeria, where Ajaokuta Steel Company is located, has traditionally relied on oil as its primary source of revenue. Diversifying the economy by entering the gold mining industry could provide an alternative income stream and reduce dependence on a single commodity. Job creation: The conversion to a gold company could potentially create new employment opportunities, both in mining and processing of gold. This could help alleviate unemployment and boost the local economy by providing job opportunities for the surrounding communities. Export earnings: Gold is a valuable commodity in international markets, and Nigeria has significant untapped gold reserves. Converting Ajaokuta Steel Company to a gold company could enable the country to exploit its gold resources and generate export earnings, thereby contributing to foreign exchange reserves. Technology and skill transfer: The gold mining industry requires specialized knowledge and expertise in exploration, mining techniques, and processing. Converting Ajaokuta Steel Company to a gold company could bring in new technology and skills related to gold mining, benefiting the local workforce and potentially fostering knowledge transfer and technological advancements. Infrastructure utilization: If the infrastructure and facilities of Ajaokuta Steel Company can be repurposed for gold mining and processing, it could lead to efficient utilization of existing assets. This could potentially reduce costs and expedite the establishment of the gold mining operations. It's worth mentioning that the decision to convert Ajaokuta Steel Company to a gold company would require careful evaluation of various factors, including market demand, resource availability, infrastructure suitability, and economic feasibility. Additionally, environmental considerations and regulatory frameworks related to gold mining would need to be taken into account to ensure sustainable and responsible mining practices. That said, Steel can be a by-product, Gold is simple to produce Railway tracks can be produced cheaply |
Because he no let am enjoy the money. He has to spend on lawyers |
Nigeria is just catching up with the world. It's like a family restaurant where all the family members are eating away all the profits and expecting growth. |
The government should sell the 4 other refineries ASAP to four different companies and buy a small share to encourage competition. We don't need a monopoly. The market should determine the Price. Not another cement like monopoly |

Obi's lawyers know they've lost and started by begging that the case should not be dismissed on technicalities. But law is law |
Karlman:He has the burden of proof He should show he scored more votes than Atiku first. Otherwise, all the remaining Presidential candidates can also sue for winning. |
Peter Obi did not sue Atiku but he wants to be declared the winner above Atiku who came second. Peter Obi's case should therefore be thrown out due to bias He should have sued Atiku also to show he is serious Lawyers should look into this.
