If your funding is settled, ceteris paribus and by God's grace you should have good news. I also presume you had your Msc in the UK. All these should increase your speed. I got a police character report. I didn't have to go. They got someone to take my thumbprint there. Please do get it. It is all to make your case strong. You would need the English test for your visa anyway so the earlier the better. If you are not on scholarship I should expect that you can resume anytime. So no panic. So please give more info. akinke: I lost my first reply to you sha.
Ooooh. I have to type again.
I was saying I recently started my Phd in AU.
Could you please let me know your funding state... do you have a scholarship? Full or part or whatever?
Let's see what we can expect. |

Full or part or whatever? Let's see what we can expect. fobak203: I want to appreciate every single member both home and abroad that has contributed to proferring solutions to the challenges of Nigerians trying to secure Australian student visa. If there is anything I have learnt from this thread, it is that, no mattter how big your problem might seem, there is someone that can suggest possible solutions to the problem more than any agent.
Based on the foregoing, I have two serious concerns, here it goes:
I have secured three Ph.D admissions (University of Wollongong, Macquarie University and Deakin University) in September. Out of the three, Macquarie offered me IMQRES-MREs as a research training pathway for the Ph.D program on 24th October 2017 for a 1st January 2018 commencement date. However, they made an error by signifying that there was no condition to be satisfied in the offer letter as against the pointer mail on candidature that I need to write IELTS. Because of my state of unrest, I contacted them after a week and apology was rendered. I quickly booked for an IELTS exam with the earliest been 25th November, 2017. Remember I would have to wait for 13days to get my result, so that means I would have to get my CoE approximately on December 8, 2017 as the earliest. Although, I contacted them and I was told I could still resume by January 15th. A sigh of relief. But.....
My Questions: How possible is it to meet up with the January 15th start date given that I need to do medicals, apply for visa and endure the waiting game?
Is there any advice on any line of actions that I can take apart from the underlisted ones? Based on the second question, I have already generated my HAP ID for medicals, filled my acceptance offer letter, lodged for OSHC to be provided by my university since 25th October 2017 ( though no reply from zenith bank yet), create an immiaccount and got stucked when I was asked to add CoE code. I believe I can get more suggestions on things to do before lodging my visa applications.
Does any one know how long it will take to get visa after looking at my total story? given all this waiting since July, I read (wished I did not read them though, but thats reality)?
Do I need to get Police clearance certificate at CID, ALAGBON, IKOYI.
Thanks ALL in anticipation of a response from you guys. I would not pledge allegiancem, but I really love this thread!
I would talk about the other concern in another post later. And I am ready to answer questions on how I got three Ph.D admissions within Australia if there is any. |

aragonbaba: hello guys, Victoria university just sent me a mail stating that they would like to hold a skype interview with me on my studies at VU. Please , has anyone done such in the time past just for admission. If yes, what does it look like and what is the underlying reason for this interview. Your prompt response will be highly appreciated. Just go online and search for what to expect from a skype interview for Msc admission or bsc admission. They are looking out for your content, why you want to study the course, why VU, composure and grammatical fluency amongst others. Just use the internet, imagine you are the University representative. What would you like to ask a foreign student to ascertain their fitness for the programme. |

noscarn91: Bro you need to calm down , everything happens for a reason, they way u complaining of people tell you their story, you will kneel down and thank God. Personally this Australia hustle started for me in 2014, had to defer my admission twice because of some issues abandoned it ,then applied to another university in 2017, thinking this was my year but God knows best. Please free that UK matter you will surely come back empty handed, i know a lot of niggas with uk masters degree with distinction still staying in their pupsy's house for like 2 years , no job, the only thing that useless country has to offer is fine scenery to take pictures for instagram and snapchat. I encourage u to hold on , February is not really far , and you not the only one , lots of people have deferred to February too. I have a master's degree from the UK, Took me a little time to get the job though but it was not totally inpossible. Having the degree from Aussie does not make much difference. It is Nigeria's job market that has a problem. |

diego2015: no Thank you. Oya let me quickly do breakdown... I knew how badly I wanted to hear other people’s story. I am a phd student. Medicals 9th June Applied 12th June Biometrics 13th June SOA...7.7m plus CO: 17th July for source of money in my bank. My aunt gave a 4m... and the rest were returns on my mum's (sponsor's) investment. My aunt gave me her means of I.D, marriage cert (since she has changed name from my father's surname), company cac letter (money came from her company) and letter introducing her... what she does... how she is excited about my success so far. We called on 25th... they said they were verifying doc. Resumption was initially 25th July. It has been moved to 28th for me. I should be in school before Monday by God's grace. Visa came out... 27th July... agent sent to me at 3:56pm. I have deferred for 2yrs now. I applied for this course in 2015. Then applied for visa finally in 2017. Thank you everyone! |

dotter8: Hello house. A second opinion woud be well appreciated. Got my visa grant yest monday 24th July 2017 which apparently was my latest start date. I sent school an email yesterday for a further extention informing them of my arrival later this week as the delay was due from the embassy. They responded saying that i should not go ahead with my travel plans that the faculty is not accepting further late enrollments. As such, my recored has been automatically deffered to the nearest enrollement date which is oct/Nov and i was informed abt the issuance of a new coe in few days. I'm really divaststed and confused right now as to what next to do. Could i go to autralia now work before study commence in nov? Do you have to reapply for a new visa because of a new ECOE? If not, your story is better o. School says I am on my last deferral. It means reapplying after this time. My brother, I just dey laugh unto the Lord. |

What is the best thing to do if they are taking time verifying your documents.
Bank letters... International passports Company registration and all.
Is there a way to hasten the bank's confirmation? And all that. The thing tire me o. |

HonNellymike12: If only the foreign affairs minister of nigeria can compel all these developed countries to have a physical embassy here in nigeria to ease a lot of issues we all face, australia embassy is in Pretoria, Canadian embassy is in Ghana and we call ourselves giant of Africa, I laff in Chinese. These countries shouldn't be dedicating to us but our leaders have spoilt everything, u need to see the way these countries treat us. It's really a sorry case. For me the foreign affairs minister should have been removed long time ago. Look at the way he handled the xenophobia case in SA, Abike dabiri had to intervain because of the M of F's slow action. We all shall put tru dis by God's grace, worry less to avoid HBP, ur grant is on the way jaree. Hehehe |
