A producer and distributor of fake alcoholic drink has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command.
The suspect identified as Emmanuel Nwodu, 38, of Fagba, Iju, Lagos was arrested for producing and distributing fake alcoholic drinks in the state.
A statement released by the state police command’s spokesperson, CSP Chike Oti, states that the suspect was arrested by a team of police officers led by the Divisional Police Officer, Pen Cinema Division, SP Pius Edobor, along Mosalashi market, Sango Agege, with two cartons of alcoholic drinks suspected to be adulterated. On interrogation, the suspect confessed that he produces the drinks in his one room shop at Mosalashi market, Agege.

He later led operatives to the said shop at Mosalashi market where he concoct the drinks. A search warrant was executed and the following items were recovered therein: two 30 litres of chemical suspected to be ethanol, two cartons of Elders Aromatic Schnapps suspected to be fake, fifty one (51) small bottles of Chelsea dry gin suspected to be fake, thirty-five (35) pieces of Chelsea cork, five(5) labels of Lords, Chelsea and Elders alcoholic drinks.
The suspect was charged to court yesterday.

You are not being realistic at all. How many of these countries still struggle with ethno-religious crisis like ours. For now, English is serving us well.

We should stop making excuses. No one has stopped anyone from speaking their native language. But we should stop making excuses for those who can't express themselves in barely good English simply because English is a foreign language.

The India you are talking much about is highly indigenous. Hinduism is widely practised. Unlike Nigeria where our traditional religions have been demonized. It is hypocritical to condemn our reverence of the English language and say nothing when we lift foreign religions over our own.

we can use the 3 major languages... Those that can't speak should learn... South Africa has more than 3 official languages. What's bad in having such here? Tiny Belgium has three.

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie speaks Igbo just as well as she speaks English. She appreciates both languages. She understands the importance of both languages to her. Many of you giving excuses about English not being our language are being emotional without a tangible reason. English is a widely spoken language and appreciating that fact does not mean you don't appreciate your own native language. The masters of English (Wole Soyinka and Chinua Achebe) are/were also fluent in their native languages.

don't get me wrong... What is language? Language is a means of communication.... There is nothing bad learning other languages but setting one language above others is what I have problem with. I speak 6 languages . I do not see anything wrong having more than one official language here in Nigeria just like in South Africa. In Brazil Yoruba is now one of the official languages...

Mr man, use your head.. Must everybody travel out. You are speaking one man's language that can't speak your language and you are happy about it. That's why I don't blame the whites that see blacks as animals because they don't think outside the box. Chinese, Indians were colonised the same way they colonised us, they speak their language as official language and they are doing well in every aspect globally. We that speak English better than the Americans, British. What have we been able to do with ourselves. Common transistor radio we can't produce, what a 10 year old Chinese boy can do....
