In as much I laud this project (if true), but you cannot achieve same feat within 18 months! The news is not utterly true |
I see ignorance painted all over the e-space. Please fellas, let's confine this thought here. In another news, Up Donald Trump! |
Those words may not be far from the truth. Threads on Imo and Anambra confirm this assertion- the hatred is real! Do not accuse me of a faulty generalization, pls!! |
Abagworo:I use to love threads showing development in the East, say, Anambra, Imo and Enugu. But now all I see is a melee between supposed brothers. I followed the Imo thread and I noted the point where Abagworo mentioned the names of Peter Obi, Wike, etc. Though his intent was to explain a scenario by drawing inferences from these men, he was brutally attacked by NLanders with affiliations from a sister's state. Though this melee outdated the remark he made, but there is a clear indication that Rochas is the target, owing to his political affiliation, which could be taken by many Easterners as not being a pro-Igbo political party. This conception has led to numerous attacks on anything he does, good or bad, which has worsen to the level where some people take the whole inhabitants of the state and classify them as 'cursed people'. The few people Notorious for these attacks disguised to be from Anambra. To be candid, negative picture uploads on threads related to Imo and Rochas were started by e-warriors from Anam camp- Abagworo, who seems to have a slim followership from Imo, recently upgrade from verbal to pictorial attacks on threads linked to Anambra. In all, the heated confrontations between opposing camps have only derailed and waned the significances of these threads- thank God same has not been done on Enugu's. I admonish both camps to work together by projecting the good image of the SE region. Use the media wisely to draw the attention of relevant stakeholders, and not an arena to display superiority. But Abagworo, if you are close to Rochas, tell him he needs to sit up. Your state has the potentials( if not the best intellects) but it is brain-drained beacuse these chaps look outside their home state. |
Clinton9000:What a great move, Nnaji We wont honor your invite to rubbish the good work of this man. But I will leave you with this: an Afonja made sure he got the licence to set-up that plant. You can find him in Ota, Ogun State. |
Amaco, calm down now. Just give credit to the man for what he did. He might not be aware that this flagoff is on NL. Just give him credit! |
Doug07034780891:That tall building is Queen Suite. Have you been there? Can you tell the house how narrow the roads around there are? You know, when a light is been flashed into the eyes, the iris contracts. Same analogy applies to a bigot when he is been exposed to the truth. Inner Awka is nowhere near a definition of a modern city. Yes, the city has beautiful houses, but it is unplanned. Go to GRA in Onistha and see how liveable streets are planned; take a trip to Enugu and see how roads are connected; go to New Owerri and see well-planned layouts. I believe New Awka will be like these places, or better. And please, stop mentioning Dubia- it only reveals your 'epic illiteracy'.... |
Awka is not there yet! Awka is still in the laboratory of development. Awka is not even in the league where Umuahia plays. Those bridges does not tell the real stories of Awka. The future of Awka is growing at the place Obiano calls 'New Awka', but he is still hatching this conception. Unlike 'New Owerri' that has left the laboratory, Awka still remains unplanned. Go to Ifite, nice houses spring up everywhere without planning; Eke Akwa is where we have the shanties and old houses; Opkuno lacks proper organizations; at the Back of Govt House, well, that will pass; Nodu, at the back of Juhel, that place has a rustic look; at back of CBN and the three beautiful buildings beside it, the rest lands remain largely underdeveloped; where you have your HOA and secretariat, nothing is there beside these buildings. Guy, Awka's development is just lying on the Enugu-Onistha express way, which is less than 3km. |
Yyeske:Enugu(capital) remains the most developed city in SE. Neither Awka nor Owerri come close to this city. To be frank, comparing Awka and Enugu is like comparing Onitsha and Lagos. Enugu's beauty, serenity and class of people do not measure up with 'developing' Awka. Precisely, where in Awka is developed: Okupono, Unizik Juntion, Amawbia, Eke-Akwa and its environs? Or is it the touted 'New Awka', which is still at its nascent stage? Where are neatly paved walkways, adorned with greens in Awka? Fellas, I am not from your region, but it's obvious I know more than you guys- yeah, I travel a lot. And on the other remark on who developed Enugu, It's up to you dudes to decide. But please, do not paint your gross ignorance around here by hallucinating that Awka is more developed then Enugu (Capital). Anambra, in its entirety, is the most developed 'state' in the East. However, if you narrow down your comparison by looking at sub-cities, all your cities (towns) come next to Enugu(capital) and Owerri. But it is in my firm conviction that Awka will overtake Owerri soon, only if Rochas keeps with his style of leadership and your rich kinsmen start thinking... #LetBuildAwka# |
dEastActivist:Hey bro, I love this thread.....ain't going nowhere. You made good points up there; but your concluding sentence, if you keep sounding like that, you aint going to make a good Activist! |
post=50282486:You are now acting wise, bro! Just look out the way I have thought you in a short time. If you handle distractors this way, by not engaging yourselves in their sinister detours, you and your people will have flourishing threads, moving from page to page. Tell others, your kinds, whenever a shot is fired, they should think before they respond. dEastActivist seems to have a good sense of how to respond to jibes...Hey (dEastActivist), this is not a complete commendation. Your state is doing well..... Since you have humbled yourself, let's see more good pictures of Anambra. |
Yyeske:Why should I warn Abagworo? I guess both camps love attacking each other. Well I did try to come in earlier today, both your brother, 'AnambraDota' or something, said the fight is necessary. |
post=50280902:Okay, let me play with your ignorance a little and help you derail your thread; however, to be candid, I loved the thread before your people started attacking each other. So tell me, in what ways are you better? Please do not tell me you developed everywhere in Nigeria while neglecting your home. Explain yourself as if your are my supervisee defending your thesis: flaws, lies, overt ignorance of the facts, inferiority complex due to fear, etc., are all allowed. Go ahead, tell me what makes you or your region better? Be constructive with your arguments, even when it is overt that your are not sounding apt. Go ahead! |
Nice directive from Obiano! Hope some peeps won't derail this thread. |
post=50280232:Hey dude, you are derailing your thread! Like I told your kinsman, I am not your problem: call your people to order! |
dEastActivist:@dEastActivist, I love your kind; you are truly patriotic. Maybe you should call your people to order.........I am neither your problem nor target. As for the Afonja thing, do not bring it up! I did not force your people seeking a life of comfort and security outside the East. But if your house is in order, supported by unity and development, the East is a place to be. Take Enugu for example. |
So this is where the battle ground has shifted to? I wish I could have both camps in an open space and watch cheerfully how both sides attack each other physically. You guys are making mockery of yourself and the state you represent. Meanwhile, let me enjoy it while it lasts, since 'Anambradolt' told me it is okay if Igbos fight. |
dEastActivist:'Emotional insecurity'! Uhmm, I kind of love the usage of the term. But trust me, I don't experience any from this side of the planet. So tell me, how does it feel like to experience one? Because from the posts of your people (I did not post those things up there), anyone from that region (SE) is bound to experience a form of this emotional insecurity you talked about, dude. I live in a clime where there is love in diversity. And for the remark I made earlier about Imolites being more civil; yeah, they are. Go look up reputable corporate Staff profile, you have them well represented than any State in the East |
FKO81:Yeah, I have the strenght; so much vigor in me to watch your likes display your stupidity here. Show us more how fithy and underdeveloped the SE looks like. As for the Ibadan qualification, I laugh at your gross ignorance. No wonder Imolites are more civil and knowlegeable than the Omambalas! |
No, I just don't like this! It seems peeps from Anambra is wining this fight! I could see only one person from Imo attacking the e-warriors from Anambra State, unlike the Imo thread were Omambalas inundated it with 'wonderful' posts. I enjoin Imolites to join their Kinsman and show the world how fithy the entire region looks like. I admonished you guys to stop spreading hate in the other thread on Imo State, but someone from Anambra said it is cool if brothers fight. Well, since it's now rationale for brothers to fight, I am comfortable watching- least I am storing up pictures of how 'beautiful' these places look like.....#Nonsense!!! Regards, |
From the recent posts and comments, one could infer that a united Igbo race is such a quixotic imagination. No doubt this thread has partially lost its purpose, and from the curses, shown hatred and bitterness from (supposed) brothers, I can now relate with the exodus/influx of brillant and able-bodied minds from the region into other climes. Get your house in order and criticize constructively! I still have respect for a few of your kinsmen I relate with...... |
This Hospital is along Owerri-Okigwe Rd. I hope the facilities stay for long and to the benefit of the people. I would advise the State Govenrment to partner with private hands to operate this hospital; this would help sustain its vaibility. Whether this (hospital) is replicated in all LGAs, Imolities have that to answer. |
I have had course to interact with this clan, both genders. All I can say is that they are brilliant and well-read. In my company here in Lagos, most people from Imo state are from that side of the state. |
That dude, Obiano, dropped some good 'punch lines' in his speech. I had to go through it again and was awestuck, at every read, with his words of wisdom. Igbo is one of the great Black races- I envy their courage, though. |
Thumbs up to Amosun for integrating oneness and competence into his administration; others should emulate this practice, especially administrators outside Lagos and Ogun States. |
I just read, with much enthusiasm, the report on “The world’s most liveable cities, 2016” as released by the economist. I perused the list of top cities and was awed by the cities serenities and aesthetic. These are planned places, where the capacity to function as ‘being’ is enhanced and bolstered to the summit. Reading through the piece to surf for indicators used for the analysis, my subconscious inquires on why no Africa State made it to the top was quickly answered: ‘we are where we are because of our thought, which, parochially, is defined as backward’. We seriously need a ‘change’ to measure up with the rest of the world, and this generation of individuals should champion that change. I’m neither pro-Rochas nor anti. If truly he is laying a foundation for a 21st (even 22nd) Century Imo State by revamping old (new) Owerri, he has my support, but he should tow the part of standard and modernity, ensuring compensations are duly paid to the natives. We need to live in ‘liveable’ cities. In Lagos, who does not like the Island; Abuja, Asokoro/Maitiama, Enugu, Zoo Estate and its surrounding posh areas? We should galvanize these pubic administrators to expand and revamp their frontiers to wear a western look! |
The 3-day work schedule is not a quick-fix to resolve the revenue crunch in the state; instead the government needs to fine-tune her thoughts towards creative ways of generating fund for the State. The current "free" education policy should be looked into. My apologies to Imolites, the Governor does not need to extend this largess up to Tertiary Institutions, especially now that the state is severely hit with paltry fund to execute capital projects across the state. Also, some of the State-controlled establishments, say, Adam Palm, need the business sense of the private minds, not the bureaucratic kind of control. The state needs to develop modern markets and galvanize for the establishment of medium/high value-chain manufacturing firms. An important sector that comes to mind is the Building Material industry, given the soaring real estate industry in your region. It is surprising that a city like Enugu and Owerri with multiple housing estates cannot boast of a large-scale firm that produces, say, pipes or aluminum roofing pans, yet we see the roofs of your cites adorned with imported materials from China, courtesy of your Kinsmen. If you guys truly claim to be best in commerce, prove it by being net-exporters of these basic things- toothpicks, imagine! To the Nairalander (Holywizard) that claims to be a resident of Owerri, your generalization is despicable; it tells more about your state of mind- hatred- and your cerebral altitude, which is unquestionably below average. You have no right to call an entire state “dead” and their women “prostitutes”. This is a social forum: your real identity could be hidden, but we see you for what you say! |
Yes, I have seen the pics before. Well, I understand the OP's intent: to reproach PDP and Ebonyi State. Some folks have actually lost it! On a different note, PDP should get her house in order and put an end to this national embarassment. We need vibrant political parties/pressure groups as oppositions to help checkmate APC as well as galvanize the party (APC) to fulfil her mandates to the people. |
I read through the posts of this thread with a disinterested mind, and I can assertively say that the state of bitterness, anger and hatred among supposed ‘brethrens”, especially natives of Imo and Anambra, is so uptight and annoying. Not just this reference thread, but others having to do with issues related to states of Abia, Anambra and Imo. I truly cherish constructive criticisms, i.e., remarks/comments that put the so-called elected representatives on the spot. For example, I could draw the attention of the Government on a bad spot in a state without unnecessarily calling the entire people (or state) ‘worthless’ or ‘useless’: come on, such generalization is robed with unparalleled acrimony! This is analogous with someone tagging your entire race ‘untamed’, owing to a pitfall of a few. Be mindful, partisan ‘Nairalander’, say, from another ethnicity, is keenly observing the rift and divide in your house, and would serve as useful points when the debate is between regions, during one of such “annoying” threads that discusses hegemony and supremacy among regions. I was enlightened, for the first time, on how divided the Easterners are- many thanks to your genre on Nairaland. One may ask: how come we don’t see comparisons on the “State of Being”, say, between Abeokuta and Ibadan, Akure and Ado-Ekiti, or Eko and Osogbo? The answer is closer than you can imagine: my cousins in the West see the development of their region as a collective responsibility of every descendant of Odua. On the average, they don’t roll over each other in mockery of how a bad spot in a location looks, or extending the remark of calling an entire state “useless”. Though the competition in the East is fierce (each state trying to undo each other), it is not healthy. The harmonious component is lacking, and this is singularly displacing your region in the scheme of things. Therefore, I will admonish those who feel joyous in dropping derogatory remarks, aiming at exacerbating a post in the negative or smearing its good intent to eschew from it. To be candid, I love the determination in your kinsmen to succeed - they are not passive with life, which could be seen in the individual effort from you guys: the beautiful houses, self-donations to social infrastructures, commerce, etc. However, until you peeps disassociate from the parochial mentality of the boastful mannerism of “I” instead of “We” -which communicate oneness- the mockery would not cease to come forth. |
I just love news like this. The first phase of the modern train track should be Lagos-to-Ibadan. |
The news is welcoming. For the country to attract more investments into the sector, the industry needs to be fully deregulated, with the government playing its effective supervisory role. However, OP, your topic caption is misleading: FG is not building a power plant in Enugu, rather a U.S-based private firm obtained a license to set-up a power plant in Enugu State. From the link you provided, it can be inferred that the firm will fully fund the project in tranches. I wonder why you captured the topic the way you did. It pays to be forthright with your posts, you know. |
Exchange rate subsidization for Hajj! This, indeed, is a clear manifestation of misplaced priority by the CBN if the concern raised above is true. Though I have always been a critic to this current exchange rate regime because of its inflated, anticipated benefits that advocates claimed the economy stand to gain (same poorly anticipated 'benefits' I forsaw would further rubbish the economy on the average), never a time did I rally vote for the previous model to dispose one of the most precious resource, as at now ,to those visiting Holy places. I want to believe Godwin and Kemi are ingenuously implementing a script handed over by a 'Force', because knowledgeable economists wouldn't do such! This is an ailing economy and she needs to recover quickly by efficiently allocating its scare resources. Like the above comments chiding this alleged move by the CBN, there are critical sectors begging for these currency. So why the accentuation on a frivolity-Pilgrim? |
