on Unity, excuse the red fan-like trend-lines i drew, i needed to show how this one has crossed below any trend line one could draw on it. the candle on friday was short of a hammer (cuz the tail wasnt long enough) but there seems to be some interest showing face now it has reached an old support level. i think it may stabilise a little around this price but buyers need to surface b4 it can rise. i would like to see some graan candles before jumping on this one personally

Since it was a doji, I think this was the sequence of events:
buyers bid up (higher open)  ---> sellers came out (low) ----> buyers returned and bid back to close.

not quite. u see, yes it was a doji but whats important is "the type" of doji as there are a few different types.

this one, a dragonfly doji doesnt have prices being bid higher than opening. prices drop for a while as evidenced by the long tail but as u rightly said, buyyers came in late in the game and bid the price back up but still couldnt bid it higher than opening, hence why it is a doji in the first place. ie open and close essentially the same.
i am assuming the "higher opening" u are referring to is the fact that it opened higher than the previous day's close. true but with candles, unless u are combining 2 or 3 or 4 day candle patterns, each day's candle formation stands on its own, as is the case here

candles incorporate something other indicators dont have and thats market psychology.

the dragonfly suggests that from the opening, the price didnt bid higher but sellers kicked off ans bid it lower. later in the day though, buyers resurfaced and bid the price back up. However, because in this case it happened in an uptrend, it is not a good sign cuz after an uptrend where buyers ruled, now sellers aka profit takers are descending.
