Perhaps it simply was a bad year and not mago mago.

What if a company declares a loss and not profit. It happens, doesn't it.

Their meagre profit should rather be investigated by looking at the accounts,e.t.c.-things that the financial analysts best no how to do. tongue
but Krushh. i dont need a financial analyst to tell me that a company who had what, 1.5b go thru its business and made only N13 odd million hasnt done great u know. the "why" may show interesting gist but it shows me the management isnt doing a good job with their available resources. worrying for a value investor cuz there's no apparent value there. that profit margin isnt great, in fact it is disgraceful, how much will they need to grow turnover to make N26m?

@ Aktopgun

Have you had any response/mails in response to the collaboration you suggested?, after Wanajo initially mooted the idea, i for one will love to be part of it, but more folks need to show interest for it to be workable. Mutual trust is also an essential ingredient for it to be realisable. There's so much effectiveness in financial might. There's so much we can do if only we can pull together, to pool the funds.
cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy not even one!!. not surprised though

BusinessRe: Cashcraft - Thieves Or A Broker by aktopgun(m): 9:58pm On Mar 17, 2008
Dejipumpin:
All i can see from these posts is personal beefing. I believe some guys/coy paid you to write all these image denting stuffs about Cashcraft. Even a layman would know that you're being baised after reading your initial posted beef-talk. No matter your dealings through them, i'm of the opinion that you can still settle issues through your account officer or whoever manages your account, and not to come to the forum to post topic that draws undeserved
recognition & unnecessary attention to you. If you care to know, i'm one of the people that believe in Cashcraft as one of the best Stockbroking, Portfolio Mgt, Asset mgt & Investment coy in Nigeria. Case closed! ! !
make i do small gbeborun for here sef.

deji, i am glad u have had a good experience with cashcraft. good for u.

that said, it is not particularly sharp to deem other people expressing their experiences as having a personal beef with cashcraft. fellas have lost money or at best not made money since they've been with cashcraft and should not be castigated for saying so. of course there are exceptions to the rule and in this case u are one of the few exceptions. the majority of people who are with cashcraft have astonishingly similar stories of woe to tell about cashcraft. how do u explain the fact that not 1, not 2 people have issued sell orders only for "one of the best stockbroking, portfolio Mgt, Asset mgt & investment coy in Nigeria" TO GO AHEAD AND BUY THE SAME STOCK?

in the business of investing, this is a major, major NO-NO! and relaly cant be excused if its a recurring pattern.

its by making these kind of observations that changes will be made for the better and not by supporting and not allowing criticism. the fellas wo have decided to go public are doing it after all else has failed. If cashcraft is as u say one of the best then they should listen to the complaints of their customers and take appropriate action to correct the situation in a manner acceptable to the customer regardless of the size of their portfolio. a customer with N200 and another with N2b both have the right to be treated equally but not in naija. Why?

I am sure fellas from cashcraft will get to hear of this thread that has been startrd just for them and if they are as good as u say, they will revamp their internal prcesses to provide better customer satisfaction. then and only then will fellas stop expressing their displeasure at sheer ineptitude on cashcraft's part. WHAT IS NOT GOOD IS VERY BAD!!

Mr. Risky:
NSE 2008 FIRST QUARTER BEHAVIOUR:  I wish the remaining stocks in my portfolio will RELEASE VERY BAD YEAR END RESULTS, so that their share prices will begin to shoot up 5% DAILY grin grin grin undecided
interesting scenario. isnt it.

look at it this way for the good companies who released bad quarter results or yearly results, it is an opportunity for CICOs to get off the plane and for people who see the value inherent in such companies to further strengthen their positions by buying into any drops in price. i always remind myself- one bad quarter doesnt make a bad company, or even a bad yr sef. As long as there are reasonable SHORT TERM reasons why the results dropped, i can excuse it. Now this si different if the reason behind the drop is a self perpetuating situation or recurring constant.

i am not sure if this thought would hold for the fundamental-less ones though.  grin

Dunlop did a spinning top  and considering that this is within the context of a downturn  i expect that the price will start creeping up again it did a
reasonable volume and the bulls are definitely back to kick buttsthey are ready to whip the bears into submission
NOT QUITE A SPINNING TOP CUZ TO BE A SPINNIG TOP U SHOULD LOOK AT THE LENGHT OF THE BODY IN RELATION TO THE LENGHT OF THE CANDLE TAILS. IN TODAYS CANDLE PATTERN, THE UPWARD TAIL IS MUCH TOO SHORT.

HAVING SAID THAT, THE CANDLE PATTERN IS STILL GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME TO BE HAPPY FOR DUNLOP CICOs

Aktopgun, thank you plenty!
This one wey you are not very enthused RE: Dangote Sugar, I hope lesser beings like us are not sitting ducks.
Same applies to Flourmill of Nigeria, what is killing the price? Abi someone knows what the rest of  us don't know?
i kinda prefer to see smooth price rises and not jack ups u know. i looked at the chart for DSR from last week and na doji star followed by correct hanging man. i told myself, this one, na die!!!

U know that no matter how good companies try even here, the feelers on their expected earnings reports always filter out and i suspect that is what happened in DSR's case as well. cuz we had even been hearing the bonus rumor for a while now too. so when it did the star i suspected an artificial rat and the hanging man didnt help either cuz it suggested swooping by profiteers.
it is still quite solid and i expect a quick recovery but not jack ups in price, a more smoother transition probably as wanajo rightly said, later this month.

i am beginning to think all this TA is not complete bull after all, especially on the NSE. Expaeriments are ongoing sha grin grin

Abeg what is your view on Livestock?
Do you think there would be another downturn soon?
Thanks

before u say i dey ignore u, i am bearish on livestock at the moment actually. a downturn may come as early as tomorrow if i am to stretch my neck out on it (pls do't cut it off  grin)

havent seen the charts for today yet but roughly drawing my own suggests a hanging man on high volume (19.8m), after an uptrend. not cool!

@pumping

sure u dint remember this but about about 6 weeks ago or so, we were discussing Oceanic bank and i said i didnt think it would fall below N28 but i didnt have anything to substantiate my argument apart from the fact that i bought twice both under N28 (only just below N28 on one occasion) . U felt it would drop further below N28 cuz the results were still far off at the time.

well my dear friend, as always, u were right going by today's prices. Nice one

i had wanted to repost on CCNN yesterday and another company i am watching- GSK but i decided against it. I do not make buy or sell recommendations but like to discuss the technicals to further enhance my skills and learning. i personally do not want this forum to turn into one where fellas just ask "what do i buy or sell" but rather to slowwly but surely understand "Why" someone would suggest a buy or sell on any stock. i still maintain that for the individual investor, value investing is safer and causes less sleepless nights and heartache. Besides what happens if ur computer crashes or u cant get a hold of ur broker in time? undecided undecided undecided

my thoughts on CCNN using TA, as i said earlier last week on it is that its supprot is currently between N18 and N19 and i expect it to do an upswing this week. I expected it on friday but it had not actually touched that support line till friday. i hope i'm right and not just blowing smoke  grin.

Dunlop, it may stagnate a bit but i personally do not see it dropping further for now.

lets see what the markets do today.

Imiegba1: As another guguru in da house and based upon what I have learned from our Gurus and Gurusis, this is what I can glean from the available data on Eternaoil.

It has been on the rise since the 20th of February!!! This translates to 18 consecutive days of gains!! (Somebody done chop!) This cannot continue without a reversal. CICOers will either swoop in to take profit or those holding the stock throughout the period of these gains might decide to disembark at some point. Where that point is I don't know!!

This charts show that money is still chasing the stock: Chaikin Money Flow, MACD is trending positive, as for the candles we go leave that one for Topgun.

I hope this helps some.
omoba, nice one man. nice one.

Stock Trend Analysis
Posted Monday, March 10, 2008
Analysis:

• Berger Paints Plc (NSE:Chemical & Paints)

Although the stock price has recently moved southward, expected investors’ renewed appetite on its would swing the stock to the range of its highest resistance attained on the 28th February, 2008.

A close look at the company’s share price shows that the stock has proven and tested to be influential especially within the range of its recent highs as a gradual build up of demand is expected on the stock in the near future, hence traders/investors are advised to take position in the company’ stock as its momentum oscillator reflects an imminent role reversal from its current oversold to overbought position. We therefore recommend a buy based on the stock trend analysis.

• First Bank of Nigeria Plc (NSE:Banking)

The stock has continued to enjoy investors’ patronage as it is considered as a safe haven stock for most investors especially long term investors. We are of the strong opinion that the level of demand on the Bank’s stock would continue to be on the increase especially as its year end (March 08) approaches.

This alone would influence the stock price as discerning investors/traders would be seen scrambling for this stock as their projection would be based on the stock sterling performance of resistance of N57.41. As the stock is highly favoured based on its trend, we advise traders/investors to take position now.

• Dunlop Nigeria Plc (NSE:Automobile sub-sector).

Dunlop Nigeria Plc, the only surviving tyre manufacturing company in Nigeria is currently enjoying investors patronage. The trend could be attributed to market sentiments on the company relative dominance of the sub-sector following the exit of a major competitor (Michelin) and the current government policy against the importation of tyres.

Activities of speculators are expected to continue on the company’s stock in the near future as it is expected to even surpass its highest resistance of N8.94. It penny nature is also a plus on its side as traders/investors in recent times have realized considerably, good returns in the short term on the stock. Thus, we are recommending a buy based on the stock recent trend pattern
.

• Union Homes Savings & Loans Plc (NSE:Mortgage Sub-Sector).

The gradual increase and the much expected boom in the mortgage and real estate sub-sector of the economy would positively impact on the company’s share price in the near future. The stock has the tendency of attaining and even surpassing its all time high price of N10.34 attained on the 24th of August, 2007. We would therefore expect traders/investors to still take position in the company’s stock as it looks good and has potential of reasonable returns.
looks like whoever did this analysis on dunlop is seeing it the same way as roughcut and i saw it too.
