I will pray ceaselessly for the Nigerian Army facing battles daily so that I might have peace. I will pray for those hunger stricken citizens in the IDP camps with almost no hope for tomorrow. I will pray help meets those poor people in hospitals all over the country who can't afford the bills no matter how small. I will pray for my President who means well for us. You see Diezani, there are so many good things to pray for. The prayers you seek now ought to have been sought while you were serving in office. They would have helped you turn a blind eye to our YAM. |

Britain writes FG, requests ex-convict Alamieyeseigha’s extradition to London March 28, 2013Premium Times Former Governor Diepreye Alamieyeseigha Former Governor Diepreye Alamieyeseigha By Paulinus Aidoghie The United Kingdom has said that it has not given up on its efforts to extradite former Bayelsa State governor, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, back to Britain to face trial, the Sun Newspaper is reporting today. The UK said it had already contacted the Federal Government requesting Mr. Alamieyeseigha’s extradition, and was awaiting a response to the request. The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Andrew Pocock, told the paper in an exclusive interview that the former governor, who recently got state pardon from his criminal conviction in Nigeria, still has an outstanding case of money laundering to answer to in the UK and that the UK government will not give up until Mr. Alamieyeseigha is brought to justice. Mr. Alamieyeseigha, then a serving governor, made a dramatic escape from the custody of the British authorities when he fled back to Nigeria from detention in September 2005. He would later be convicted on similar money laundering charges on July 26, 2007 in Nigeria after he was impeached as governor. Although his recent state pardon by President Goodluck Jonathan hit the UK authorities as a rude shock, Mr. Pocock dismissed insinuations that London was planning to sanction Nigeria over the matter. According to him, “that is not the way we do things”. The High Commissioner also revealed that UK had earlier requested for Alamieyeseigha’s extradition, but did not get any response. Mr. Pocock said the UK had asked the Attorney General and Minister for Justice for Alamieyeseigha’s extradition and was still awaiting his position on the issue when President Goodluck Jonathan all of a sudden announced he has been extricated of all wrong doing via the state clemency. The move to pardon him even when the application for his extradition to Britain was still pending was like daring the applying nation that feels strongly that Alamieyeseigha has a case to answer in their country. According to Mr. Pocock, “The former governor skipped bail in the UK on a charge of money laundering and returned to Nigeria. So, he has an outstanding charge in the UK, which is there for him to answer. “We have already discussed it and the Nigerian government knows our views. But we would like to see him return and answer charge in the UK.” On UK’s past and present efforts to see that Alamieyeseigha is extradited to the UK, Mr. Pocock said: “Yes. I think we asked in the past. I am very sure we asked in the past. But I am not sure we got a formal response. So, we are still waiting for a formal response from the Nigerian government. “We have asked the Attorney General. He will have to tell us what his position is on extradition. I haven’t had a reply yet, but we still wait for it,” the British envoy added. The laws of Nigeria do not give any consideration to any other forces outside the Senate in the election of its President. And to yield the ground on this note, is to be complicit in the subversion of democracy and its core principles of separation of powers as enshrined in our constitution. This is why we must once again, commend President Muhammadu Buhari, for refusing to interfere in the election of the National Assembly leadership even in the face of enormous pressures on him to do so. He has proven quite concretely that he is indeed a born-again democrat. Don't worry, he will not interfere in your CCT trial and when EFCC finishes preparing your SGB and other fraudmatters, he will still not interfere. Before i forget, the police file on your forgery of the senate rules is still open (not sure). In a nutshell, iga na. You must go. |

HEALTH: How To Manage An Oily Face You may perhaps be aware that the natural way with which oil is produced by the body is to help in keeping the skin healthy. Also we know that too much of everything is definitely not good.So when there is an accumulation of excess oil it leads to the formation of acne. The excess oil normally is from the sebaceous glands in the skin producing excess sebum. People with this condition usually have shiny skin and large pores. oily face Ways You Can Manage Oily Skins • Wash your face morning and night to reduce the oil on them. Don’t wash more than three times because it can lead to dry skin which is another problem on its own. • Exercise daily for at least 30minutes, this will help your body to burn excess fat and thus limit the oil produced on your face. •Ladies always wash off your make-up when you return home, it reduces irritation to your faces. •Reduce your intake of fatty foods, find that food that when you eat you develop different oily skin problems and stop them. •Sleep adequately, you will be amazed at how this affects your skin. •Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated so the body will not try to moisturize it for you by producing oils. How To Get Rid Of Your Oily Face • Steaming Steaming is considered to be a very effective technique for cleaning the oils and dirt from skin pores on face. The first step for steaming is to boil hot water and pour into a big bowl. Take a towel and cover your head with it and allow the steam to pass to your face. I don’t need to tell you not to allow your skin to touch the hot water as it can burn your skin. As the steam makes contact with your skin, it makes it softer get rid of oils from your skin. • Lemon juice Lemon juice is a good source of citric acid that works like an astringent. It also has antiseptic properties that can restore the skin’s pH balance. You should mix equal parts of fresh lemon juice with clean water. Using a cotton ball, apply it on your face and leave it for about 10minutes after which you can was off with warm water. Note that lemon can also dry out your skin, so you should use oil-free moisturizers after washing off. • Yogurt Interesting huh? I thought so too when i saw it on the internet. Well, yogurt contains lactic acid that can help to gently exfoliate your skin and it absorbs excess oil on the face. Just rub one tablespoon of plain yogurt very well over your face and leave it on for 15 minutes. Then rinse it off with cool water. You can do this once daily. • Honey and sugar You can use a natural scrub. Honey and sugar together exfoliates skin nicely, while still moisturizing your skin. Just mix them together to form a paste and rub it over your face, leave it for 15minutes and rinse of with warm water. Don’t use scrubs too often, as they will dry out your skin, and not in a good way! • Aloe vera I think I need to write about the uses of aloe vera. Aloe vera gel is very effective in ridding oil from your skin. This gel is rich in antioxidants, moisture, and skin cleansing extracts that makes it a good natural face cleanser. Just extract the gel of aloe vera from the plant and rub it on your face. Leave it for 20 minutes and then wash it off with water. • Egg whites Oh no! not again, well yeah. While many might think that it is messy, however, a face mask of egg white is a great way to firm up the skin and to reduce the excess oil content from one’s face. Just as we did before with the pimples removal regimen, just whip the white of an egg and rub it on your face till it drys. Leave it for 10 to 15minutes and wash it off with warm water. Other things we could use include; •Tomato paste •Cucumber mask •Pawpaw paste •Apple mask •Vinegar •Orange peels paste •Milk is a great oil-free cleanser that can make oily skin soft and supple. Milk gently exfoliate the skin and also help maintain the skin’s natural pH balance. Like I always say, you have to be diligent and patient with whatever method you choose to follow.
