Actually I think schools have been sending revised offer letters round, I got mine ystd even though I already had a COE for July intake. So there's movement in the system for July intake.

(1) Please how were you able to convince them about your thriving business? Did you present financial statements, Bank statements or any documents?

(2) What evidence did you present for the real estate? Building registration, valuers certifications, Photographs? what exactly?

I have a registered limited liability company, but i have not stated operations. How do I use this in my own case?

I have a 90% completed bungalow in my village in the east. How can I use this to prove home ties?

I have over #6m in my IBTC pension account, can this be used also to prove home ties?

Please educate me.

Thanks.

See responses as follows:

(1) Yes, I presented financial statements relating to the business as well as details of clients the company works with.

(2) I just provided copies of the deed of assignment. I did not put valuation certificates, building registrations etc. Please note however that the visa officer is not relying on the value of the assets in my own case to check whether I have funding. It was to check for home ties. So, someone who is trying to use building to prove funding may have to provide valuation certificates.

3) You can use the company that has not started operations by showing that the kind of business the company is planning to do is a great business in the future.

4) Include the receipt of purchase or any document you have showing you are the owner of the uncompleted building.

5) Yes, you can use your pension evidence for home times.

Why is this house so calm?pls can we just say hello! Any up date? Me i am waiting to do my medical and biometrics so i can apply for my student visa.how about others whats up for those resuming in july
Just to mention that you do not have to do your medicals and biometrics before you submit you visa application online. The biometrics can only be done after submission of visa application whilst medicals can be done after submission. I think the timeline for treatment of your application starts to count from date of online submission of the application and your biometrics as well as medicals may not even reflect on your portal until the application has been fully treated.

Will a pregnant lady be allowed to do masters program in australia?
I think you may need to put the question in perspective so that people with experience and knowledge of this matter can provide appropriate answers and guide you. If the person ready has a Visa, I believe the answer is yes as she cannot be discriminated against on this basis . However, if the person is just about to apply for a visa, I believe she will need to disclose this fact and I wonder if this will not affect the GTE assessment? There are people with experience on this matter that may be able to provide guidance.

Not necessary. So far they give you updated coe which is important. And u don't come to Australia I think few months to your actual start date. I think you should be fine. Right now, economy is crumbling and struggling as international student is top 5 source of income generation for Australia...
Thank you! I appreciate it.

@ alao1981,
You don't need to mail home affairs.
Last year my wife's visa was granted on the 14th march and school already resumed 4th march. She deferred to July and Deakin gave her new eCOE with which she just kept as her current COE, that's all cos you will be needing that COE for some Jobs y in Aussie. Just settle down and planned yourself cos going with family same time, much is required apart from finance.
Best of Luck.
Thank you so much for this very helpful information. I will just leave the home affairs out of it. Really appreciate you all.

Just email the school. You don't need to email home Affairs. The words in your visa states you must not enter after a date.so far the school gives u an updated COE... I don't think it's necessary to involve home Affairs ... I skipped mine and didnt inform no home affairs
Thanks for your input too. Yes, the date by which I must enter as specified on the visa grant is years from now. However, in asking for the deferment, I will ask the school for guidance on whether to inform home affairs or not.

Please, throw more light on the above. What they stand for and the need.

I am still learning some stuff.
One of the conditions for getting a Certificate of Enrolment (COE) which is required to apply for your visa is that you must pay for health insurance that covers the period of your study. Some schools have preferred health insurance providers, in my case it is BUPA (a health insurance company). The term SOA refers to Statement of Account.

Hope the foregoing address your questions.

As of today in Australia, it is mandatory for everyone coming into Australia irrespective of the country to self isolate (stay indoors and away from people) for at least 14days. Failure to do this is a serious crime and consequences will follow.
How will you self isolate if you are just coming afresh and don't even have a place of your own yet?

My advise is this.
1. Get a deferment letter from your school till July.

2. Write to the home affairs office about your decision to postpone travel be particular about your inability to be able to self isolate for 2weeks if you get on board and attach an email of deferment from the university.

OR

You can still travel but be ready to be quarantined by the government for 14days as you will be deemed not to be able to self isolate as a new resident in Australia.

You would only have a problem at entry in July if the department is not aware of you deferment decisions. As long as they have your notice and acknowledge your decision through email, you have nothing to worry, you can as well print your email correspondence with the home affairs and that will be a proof at entry point in July.
Thank you so much for this very detailed and helpful advice. I will proceed as you have suggested.

Congrats to your family. How much did you pay for health insurance and how much was in your SOA
Thanks. I think health insurance was about 8,000AUD - BUPA…….circa 20M in SOA.

Your visa will be cancelled if you defer
Would appreciate your further clarification on this. I am a research student and the grant letter did not state this. So, even if I get a letter from school confirming that my resumption now in July, visa will still be cancelled?

Big congratulations, this is the first time am seeing someone gets visa grant with family, Lucky you, God has done it. How were you able to prove home ties?
Will you be traveling concerning this virus out break?
My best wishes to you and your family.

Thanks. I proved home ties by showing I have a thriving business here and my partners will be managing it whilst I am away. I also provided evidence of real estate properties I have. No, I will not be travelling during this virus outbreak. Will defer to July resumption.

Questions keep popping into my head as the date of my arrival in Australia gets closer. I'm feeling unprepared in terms of being armed with enough information.

I checked the accommodation link that WestAfrican sent. I kept on seeing the term "Bond". I wonder what that means.

Also, for someone who is going to be schooling in Wollongong but intends to stay and work in Sydney, which part of Sydney should such a person rent an apartment so as to ensure more proximity to Wollongong.

Again based on experience, what kind of accommodation would you advise those of us who are coming over to arrange for as students and what type should we avoid? We need your opinions on this our senior brothers and sisters.

Are there any other inherent procedural challenges with securing accommodation that we need to be aware of especially as new comers and how do we overcome them if any?

Hello. Is it possible to get in contact with you? I want to check how this eventually panned out. I am considering accepting an offer from Wollongong with plan to also live in Sydney. Will appreciate thoughts. Thanks

Work on writing a strong and convincing SOP. Once you're done, you can contact any of the knowledgeable person's here to help vet the letter so as to be sure that you've tackled the concerns of the visa officer prior to reapplying for your visa.
Thanks again, sir. I was wondering if you have any window to assist with a review? I promise (and hope) it would not take much of your time due to the inputs I already have which have gone into the revised SOP. Apologies for any inconvenience.

A TL DR refers to a short summary written for the reader who may not feel like reading your full writeup. It's another way to refer to the summary section of an article or writeup.
Thanks a lot. Learnt something new. Any chance I can bother you or Frank to do a further review of my SOP? I believe it should be less stressful based on the inputs I already have....but you never know.

An eight-page SOP is just too long and the VO probably didn't read it, or got confused reading it. In my view, the only way a VO would read such a lengthy SOP is (a) you have a concise TL DR on the first page OR (b) your writing is like Chimamanda prose.

An eight-page SOP is a sign to the VO that you have not yet figured out your reasons for wanting to study in Canada.
laughs! If only I can write like the great Chimamanda! Point taken, but not sure I understand the terms "TL DR". Whilst I do not plan to write another 8page SOP, it will be good for future reference to know what it means. Google says it is abbreviation for "too long didn't read" notations, but not sure that was the context you used it.

Bracha:
It is about the articulation of your study plan, and not necessarily the format of the SOP.

Thanks, Bracha. I agree. I think I was using the word "format" in a loose sense....probably need to be more careful with choice of words since this is likely the problem with the SOP.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by alao1981: 4:03pm On Jun 20, 2019
Dear All, initial application in March refused on the sole basis of "purpose of visit". From the support on this platform, I have since realized that the reason is probably the SOP (8 pages and complicated). GCMS notes just showed up and the explanation is that "The applicant's Plan of studies appears vague and poorly documented". I wanted to confirm that this is indeed about the format of the SOP and not mean something else. Thank you.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by alao1981: 7:53am On Jun 02, 2019
Bracha:
1. SOP is statement of purpose.
2. I don't really understand this question, but I'll give an idea of what you can do. You can use 2 sponsors; with one being a main sponsor and the other a co-sponsor. I also advise your sponsors write a letter of support for you. Check Qudkom and Frankrobbn1's posts here on how to do this.
3. I am currently unavailable for SOP/LOE review. Please ask the others.

Good luck.

Hello Bracha, thanks for all the guidance. I was wondering if you are still available to help review SOP. Thanks
