Naijabad:See responses as follows: (1) Yes, I presented financial statements relating to the business as well as details of clients the company works with. (2) I just provided copies of the deed of assignment. I did not put valuation certificates, building registrations etc. Please note however that the visa officer is not relying on the value of the assets in my own case to check whether I have funding. It was to check for home ties. So, someone who is trying to use building to prove funding may have to provide valuation certificates. 3) You can use the company that has not started operations by showing that the kind of business the company is planning to do is a great business in the future. 4) Include the receipt of purchase or any document you have showing you are the owner of the uncompleted building. 5) Yes, you can use your pension evidence for home times. |

valveraaaa:Just to mention that you do not have to do your medicals and biometrics before you submit you visa application online. The biometrics can only be done after submission of visa application whilst medicals can be done after submission. I think the timeline for treatment of your application starts to count from date of online submission of the application and your biometrics as well as medicals may not even reflect on your portal until the application has been fully treated. |

valveraaaa:I think you may need to put the question in perspective so that people with experience and knowledge of this matter can provide appropriate answers and guide you. If the person ready has a Visa, I believe the answer is yes as she cannot be discriminated against on this basis . However, if the person is just about to apply for a visa, I believe she will need to disclose this fact and I wonder if this will not affect the GTE assessment? There are people with experience on this matter that may be able to provide guidance. |

Ilias2:Thanks for your input too. Yes, the date by which I must enter as specified on the visa grant is years from now. However, in asking for the deferment, I will ask the school for guidance on whether to inform home affairs or not. |

Dereformer:One of the conditions for getting a Certificate of Enrolment (COE) which is required to apply for your visa is that you must pay for health insurance that covers the period of your study. Some schools have preferred health insurance providers, in my case it is BUPA (a health insurance company). The term SOA refers to Statement of Account. Hope the foregoing address your questions. 2 Likes |

Viola2017:Thanks. I think health insurance was about 8,000AUD - BUPA…….circa 20M in SOA. |

obainojazz:Would appreciate your further clarification on this. I am a research student and the grant letter did not state this. So, even if I get a letter from school confirming that my resumption now in July, visa will still be cancelled? |
Travel / Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by alao1981: 7:37am On Mar 14, 2020 |
tpain22:Thanks. I proved home ties by showing I have a thriving business here and my partners will be managing it whilst I am away. I also provided evidence of real estate properties I have. No, I will not be travelling during this virus outbreak. Will defer to July resumption. |

Dear All, I wanted to check for link to anyone studying at UNSW and University of Wollongong. I got admission for PhD to both schools and would like to discuss with people on ground in order to decide which to pursue. Thank you. |

Frankrobbn1:Thanks again, sir. I was wondering if you have any window to assist with a review? I promise (and hope) it would not take much of your time due to the inputs I already have which have gone into the revised SOP. Apologies for any inconvenience. |

thesoj:Thanks a lot. Learnt something new. Any chance I can bother you or Frank to do a further review of my SOP? I believe it should be less stressful based on the inputs I already have....but you never know. |

thesoj:laughs! If only I can write like the great Chimamanda! Point taken, but not sure I understand the terms "TL DR". Whilst I do not plan to write another 8page SOP, it will be good for future reference to know what it means. Google says it is abbreviation for "too long didn't read" notations, but not sure that was the context you used it. |
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by alao1981: 5:36pm On Jun 20, 2019 |
Bracha:Thanks, Bracha. I agree. I think I was using the word "format" in a loose sense....probably need to be more careful with choice of words since this is likely the problem with the SOP. |
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by alao1981: 4:03pm On Jun 20, 2019 |
Dear All, initial application in March refused on the sole basis of "purpose of visit". From the support on this platform, I have since realized that the reason is probably the SOP (8 pages and complicated). GCMS notes just showed up and the explanation is that "The applicant's Plan of studies appears vague and poorly documented". I wanted to confirm that this is indeed about the format of the SOP and not mean something else. Thank you. |
