Ekiti state mostly depends on food items imported from other states. Agricultural activities are mostly dead and buried in that state.

The youths have since abandoned agriculture for education.

These groups ancestors made those marks you find on the rocks in Iṣarun, around present Ondo and Ekiti States. Also those Archeological discoveries in Iwo Ẹlẹru. They populated this region before the coming of Ulesuns.

The Ulesuns as we referred to them were not just one group but the most popular ones gave Yorubas most of their religion and traditions. The Ogun, Obatala, Orunmila, Láàlu, Agboniregun, etc. They shared almost same origin with Crete, Greeks and some of the Phoenicians, etc. They migrated earlier to settle in W/Africa particularly Ife, Ado Ekiti, Ikole and most parts of present Osun, Ekiti, Ondo, Kogi and Edo. They actually came with story of first Ife establishment in the Mediterranean. Other Kemet groups like kwararafa, kenem, Igala started joining them, the Igala in particular and some of these groups also moved to Edo and the Niger Delta (Obagodo of Igodomigodo, the Oru peoplem etc

The last major people that made up Yoruba and which formed most of the ruling class now were Semitic and the first group among them came from Mesopotamia, there were others from northeastern part of Africa, etc. (you can research the initial crises of some of Ọmọ Ọwá Ọbas in Ekiti vs Oore of Ọtun). Majority of these groups didn't originally intermarried with the other groups they met on ground, they married from themselves until it wasn't possible again. The organised the region monarchically, expand and rule over Ulesun villages. They reshape some of the traditions pertaining to naming, circumcision, etc... Some great ones among them retook Ulesun greatmen's names.

Many groups came from present northern Sudan and Oromo region of Ethiopia. Some Phoenicians who had become Christians also came later through the Sea and joined up, reasons we have Morèmi and Èlà, ọjọ Ẹtì, Ọjọ Abameta and Aiku mixed up.
There was fusion of the religion of the first Semitic group with that of Ulesuns. The language of the the Ulesuns that was a mixture with Kemet, because of so many groups from kemet, also prevalent.

It's due to the above we have multiple oral tradition of our origin. We are one people now, very proud one! Most don't wants to really associate with anything Semitic because of the two new religions and their rivalry. It now depends on which history one believes or imposes on others... because some don't want to research anything but hold to just one of these origins, nothing more, nothing less...
