Politics / Re: Atiku Condemned The Coastal Highway First... Why Isn't He Getting Attacked? by Alba3: 10:17pm On Apr 22
David160:
Obi didn't condemn the highway... He only said that there are more pressing needs.

Like electricity and more pressing road infrastructure.. Yet Tinubu supporters have been vomiting since...

Yet when Atiku condemned the same highway and accused Tinubu of being corrupt a few weeks ago they were quiet all through.

Why is that?
It's shameful and foolhardy for a southerner to join Atiku to condemn Lagos - Calabar coastal road. The Northerners have been spending trillions to build roads in their place without complaints from the south. They even awarded rail projects to Niger with so much money.

The trillions of money that should have gone into developmental projects are being spent to fight their terrorism and banditry.
We have serious problem in the south if coastal states that provided this money shouldn't have a coastal road. Obi and his ilks should go and sit down; must they pass negative comments/judgement on everything?

Alot of them are not even aware that Olumide is an Edo man. They see the Olumide name and can't wrap their head around why an Edo man was called Olumide. They are too daft to even know that Akoko Edo is in Edo State.

I was on an Obidient twitter space where one very vocal Edo Obidient lady even said Akpata is a Yoruba name and does not trust Olumide as a result of his names. I had to google and realised that Yoruba is Apata and not Akpata.
Ambrose Folorunso Ali remains one of the best governors Edo ever produced; he never had any Edo name.

EKITI STATE POLICE COMMAND

ARRESTED KIDNAPPING SUSPECTS ON 16TH FEBRUARY, 2024

Gentlemen of the Press,

I welcome you all on behalf of the Officers and Men of Ekiti State Police Command to today’s press briefing that is aimed at informing the general public and showcasing the Command’s latest achievement under my leadership as the Commissioner of Police

2. This recent breakthrough was made possible through the dogged effort of our gallant men of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) ably led by their Commander, CSP. OGUNDOLA MARCUS.

3. In our relentless and deliberate efforts to rid the State off criminal elements especially kidnappers and the quest to ensure the arrest of the hoodlums behind the killing of two traditional rulers in Ikole-Ekiti and the kidnapping of some school children and their teachers in Emure-Ekiti as well as other kidnapping incidents in the State, the Command Rapid Response Squad (RRS) commenced a thorough investigation and operation and arrested Eight (cool members of a kidnapping syndicate and neutralized one. Details below:

On 8/02/2024 at about 1300hrs, the Command Rapid Response Squad (RRS) received a credible tip-off that a gang of armed men has invaded a farmland at Eda-Oniyo-Ekiti and were planning to kidnap some Expatriates in Dairy Farmland, Ikun-Ekiti.

Upon receipt of the information, a team of RRS operatives swung into action and arrested one ABUBAKAR ALIYU a.k.a SMALLIE who was on a mission to spy on the actual location of the Expatriates. After the arrest of Abubakar Aliyu a.k.a SMALLIE, the leader of the kidnapping gang identified as one Sumo Karami sent two (2) vigilante members, one Saliu Ibrahim and Umaru Saliu, to secure the bail of the arrested gang member from Police custody. The two (2) vigilante members were arrested and they led the RRS operatives to Oro-Ago town where one Mohammed Bashiru, the leader of Miyetti Allah vigilante in Oro-Ago, Kwara State, was arrested. During interrogation, Mohammed Bashiru revealed that he is a relative of Sumo Karami who is a leader of a dreaded kidnapping gang and that Abubakar Aliyu a.k.a SMALLIE is one his gang members who have been terrorizing and kidnapping innocent citizens with AK47 rifles and other dangerous weapons. Initial investigation revealed that Sumo Karami and his gang members were responsible for the kidnapping of the Pupils and their Teachers in Emure-Ekiti on 29th January, 2024.

Meanwhile, the phone used to demand for ransom for the release of the Pupils and the Teachers was recovered from the suspects and effort intensified led to the arrest of two (2) among the gang members, namely: Yahaya Jubril and Usman Garba in Owo forest, Ondo State.

Further investigation led to the arrest of one Kenneth Ugwu in Ibadan, Oyo State, on 14/02/2024. The suspect, during interrogation, confessed to be a member of a kidnapping syndicate who kidnapped 5 Pupils, three (3) teachers and a driver in Emure-Ekiti who was allegedly killed by the kidnappers. The suspect led a team of RRS operatives to the kidnapper’s hideout inside Agric Reserved Forest between Ise-Ekiti/Emure-Ekiti. On sighting the Police, the armed hoodlums engaged the team in a gun duel. In the process, one of the gang members who was later identified as AYUBA was neutralized, one Abubakar Mohammed a.k.a Smallie was captured alive while other gang members escaped through the forest. Investigation revealed that the syndicate was responsible for the kidnapping of one Paul Omotosho, the APC Chairman, Ekiti State, along Agbado/Imesi, Ekiti road on 08/07/2023, the kidnapping of Mr. and Mrs. Awoniyi along Ikere/Itaogbolu road in the month of January this year and the kidnapping of teachers and pupils of Apostolic Faith Secondary School, Emure-Ekiti on 29th January, 2024.

Are you saying that if you're a shareholder in a company or where you've retired as director the company shouldn't have anything to do with government again? This is a different scenario to Nnaji's that his company bid under his own ministry. His former didn't deal with his own ministry of interior. Virtually all politicians can't escape this situation; they are shareholders in many companies that deal with government. This is not direct conflict in the real sense.

Seun is just a businessman, one can feel his aloofness to what's going on here after handed over to Igbo person. His failure to be a proper obidient really brought him in collusion with the obidient hardcores.

Mynd44 giving once in a while objective innocent comments really make the usual wailers hate him, they hate everyone anyway.

I dont know what the British were thinking, they must have known this would lead to disaster
Britain actually planned Nigeria to fail. Pitching together in one country 3 of the top 7 largest ethnic groups in Africa is the greatest mistake one can do. Check every continent of the world nowhere this was done.

The military and their counterparts in civilian clothing finally nailed the coffin by discarding true federalism and 1963 republican constitution.

Please i'd appreciate why a decoder is better .
My 2020 Lg TV inbuilt decoder was so good that I stick to it; very sharp signal (better than my mini 2121), easy to track with and play h.265 video format easily. There's no shortcomings except maybe IPTV but it's a smart TV also and I don't really miss anything. It depends on what you want in FTA and whether you can master it's operation, settings etc

All we need to fix Nigeria is attitudinal change.
It's not easy to change attitude of multiethnic, multi religion people with deadly and untrustworthy politicians. What we need is structural changes which republican constitution of 1963 already settled. We need to go back to this constitution and build stronger institutions.

Nigeria is one of the easiest countries to fix if there's political will.

Restructuring, true federalism and decentralisation.

It's simple as that but politicians are enjoying present looting, nepotism hiding in/under Abuja.

The aboriginal people of Bini i.e the Ogiso and Ogiamien tribe wants their throne and land back.
There is what is called Ekiokpagha Treaty Between Oranmiyan's hairs Eweka and Oba Ewedo and Oguamien family (the last family of Ogisos), Every year and every installation of an Oba called for this.

Oba Erejuwa, the father of the present one initiated a lots of revisionism so as to end the Ogiamien uprising against the Yoruba Origin ruling house in Bini; one of the revisionism is Ekhaladerien, Ozodua story, another one is Lagos story and so many others. They even said Yorubas came from Bini.... how can people in more than 8 states, W/Africa, Caribbean and diaspora came from people in just 7 LGA, not even up to half of Ekiti (Binis don't give birth ni? ) No Bini revisional tales by moonlight ever logical or make sense.

It was in Itsekiris and Ilaje history that they helped a warrior and royal (he was also Ifẹ prince and named in Yoruba title as Ashipa and the Oloriogun) of Bini to trace to present Iga Iduganran, a king of Mahin, a vasal kingdom to Bini at the time. You met Olofin Ogunfunminire grandchildren and their people on ground; welcome and respected you because of your Ifẹ connection. How did that now transforming to founding a place? The part you came to is like 0.001% of present Lagos State and a whole Oba condensed to giving those already saying Lagos is no man's land a voice. Now that Obaseki is breaking the kingdom, the Oba can hold tight to his brother across the Niger.
