These will not still work.

All we need to fix Nigeria is attitudinal change.
It's not easy to change attitude of multiethnic, multi religion people with deadly and untrustworthy politicians. What we need is structural changes which republican constitution of 1963 already settled. We need to go back to this constitution and build stronger institutions.

It's always easier said than done ....

Even buhari admitted Nigeria is difficult to govern ...

If u are given d throne today with 6months u will understand better....
We make it difficult for ourselves.

It's abnormal to put 3 of the largest ethnicity in Africa in one country under one 'Unitary' federal system of government and expect it to work. Can you mention one country in the world like that?
PoliticsRe: Ireti Kingibe: Nigeria Not Fixable As I Thought, I'm Sure Tinubu Is Shocked Too by Alba3: 8:31am On Dec 08, 2023
Nigeria is one of the easiest countries to fix if there's political will.

Restructuring, true federalism and decentralisation.

It's simple as that but politicians are enjoying present looting, nepotism hiding in/under Abuja.

CultureRe: Reps Move To Halt Alleged Plan By Edo State Govt To Split Benin Kingdom by Alba3:
raskymonojendor:
The aboriginal people of Bini i.e the Ogiso and Ogiamien tribe wants their throne and land back.
There is what is called Ekiokpagha Treaty Between Oranmiyan's hairs Eweka and Oba Ewedo and Oguamien family (the last family of Ogisos), Every year and every installation of an Oba called for this.

Oba Erejuwa, the father of the present one initiated a lots of revisionism so as to end the Ogiamien uprising against the Yoruba Origin ruling house in Bini; one of the revisionism is Ekhaladerien, Ozodua story, another one is Lagos story and so many others. They even said Yorubas came from Bini.... how can people in more than 8 states, W/Africa, Caribbean and diaspora came from people in just 7 LGA, not even up to half of Ekiti (Binis don't give birth ni? ) No Bini revisional tales by moonlight ever logical or make sense.

It was in Itsekiris and Ilaje history that they helped a warrior and royal (he was also Ifẹ prince and named in Yoruba title as Ashipa and the Oloriogun) of Bini to trace to present Iga Iduganran, a king of Mahin, a vasal kingdom to Bini at the time. You met Olofin Ogunfunminire grandchildren and their people on ground; welcome and respected you because of your Ifẹ connection. How did that now transforming to founding a place? The part you came to is like 0.001% of present Lagos State and a whole Oba condensed to giving those already saying Lagos is no man's land a voice. Now that Obaseki is breaking the kingdom, the Oba can hold tight to his brother across the Niger.
PoliticsRe: Ethnic analysis of Lagos population in 1891. Check yours by Alba3: 10:03pm On Nov 28, 2023
Burob:
Logically, it seems you are correct with your assertion because we are made to believe the Aworis are the original indigenes of Lagos, so definitely they are not the Eko Tribe.
Common sense should have told you that Eko tribe mean People on the Island which Aworis still constipated over 90% of them. The other Aworis mentioned were those in mainland. Even there were still Aworis in Badagry.

PoliticsRe: Oba Of Benin Visits Governor Sanwo-Olu (Photos & Videos) by Alba3:
alcuin:
By your explanation, Oduduwa himself is not a "Yoruba" man, therefore Oranmiyan, who is said to be the grand son of Oduduwa, and later Oba of Bini is not of "Yoruba" ancestry too.

May I ask you where the word "Yoruba" came from? If you do your research, you'll know there was NOTHING called Yoruba at the time.
Only Oyo group were referred to as Yoruba initially or Oyoruba just like Baruba from Ìbàrùbá. Other groups fiercely opposed to the term because they have their own group names and there were great rivalry and internal wars among them; until the British colonisers imposed it as a common name for the whole groups except Itsekiris.

It took Yoruba groups like Ekiti, Ijebu, Ondo, Okun, etc many years before accepting the generalized name "Yoruba". Everyone has now accepted the term as the general name and there's nothing an outsider is going to do about it. What bonds the Yoruba together is greater than name.

There is no ethnic group that has just one source of origin in Africa except Khoisan and Pygmy groups who are the most ancient in sub-sahara Africa. Most of the tribes were mixtures of different groups. The most ancient in Yorubaland were the Urahurẹ-s (Ara wẹwẹ/kekere) they made those marks on the rocks in Ilaramoki and their settlements dating to more than 10,000 BC have been found in Iwo Eleru and some parts of Ekiti, Ondo and Osun.

The next very old settlers were the Ulesun-s. They founded Ifẹ and rule it until the coming of Semitic groups in several immigration. The Ulesun-s were the progenitors of Yoruba culture, arts and religions. The traditionists and some historians frown at any other origin except that one of Ulesun's. They shared a lot in common with kemet, Greek and several ethnicities like Nok, Igodomigodo, Igala, Fọn, Ijaw, etc. they established great communities in the SW of the rivers' confluence. The days were originally in their leaders' names, eg Orunmila, Ogun, Obatala, etc until the coming of Semitic groups and some seafarers like Phoenicians.

If you can lay your hand on the text about Ekiti Obas Pelupelu's crisis in the 40s, 50s, you will have an insight into the 3rd major group, the Ọwa led group. The first group actually came from mesopotamia and subsequent ones from Egypt, Arabian Peninsular, North East Africa and after the Phoenicians, (who already converted into Christianity, and who relived the Moremi and Ela, his death on Ọjọ Ẹti as great sacrifice, changed the name of the days into, e.g Ọjọ Isegun, Eti, Abameta, Aiku, etc.), come more Semitic from North Africa.
The greatest contribution of Semitic groups were the eight day naming and circumcisions for male children, taking over of the ruling households and reorganization of the communities by Ọmọ Ọwa-s, and a lot more. Initially, there were attempts to keep their blood pure by marrying only from themselves. However, they too soon mixed with Ulesuns just like Ulesuns mixed with the Urahurẹ-s.

The name Oduduwa, Oranmiyan, Sango have always been with the Yoruba since time immemorial; many great people 'rebear' them. It's recorded in my family history as 'Omo Owa' and who later left Ori-Egurun, Ifẹ that our great progenitor was also Ooni Ogun of Ifẹ (wonder if that's his actual name). Oduduwa was Yoruba whether he's the one that established Ife with Obatala and Etta or the Semitic Ọwá from MENA.

Reverse is the case actually. Israel doesn't think twice before attacking Syria, Lebanon, Palestine etc but whenever it involves Iran, all they do is Cry to US and EU seeking help and sanctions on Iran.
Question is, can't they invade Iran like they have been doing to weaker States even when they know Iran is the genesis of their travails?

Seems the Isreali and US intelligence know more than you.
Israel has not attacked because of some remaining Persian Jews still in Iran. Although hundreds of thousands of them already emigrated into, Israel, US and others.

stuffs2002:
You just jumped into a discussion blindly.

Did you even read my posts at all? Didnt you see where iI corewcted the ignorant person who said Okun meant valiant? Okun is a greeting that can loosely be termed like weldone which is the same as pele
You wrote that only Okun people use the word 'Okun' which is not true. It's a common greeting/sorry in everywhere in Ekiti and many parts of Ondo state as well.
PoliticsRe: Why Are Yorubas (okun) Not Allowed To Rule In Kogi State? by Alba3: 7:53pm On Nov 18, 2023
stuffs2002:
Low self esteem is very difficult to cure and in some cases, outrightly impossible to cure. I really feel sorry for you.

1. You had to post a Facebook page as your evidence that Okuns are Yorubas. How low can you get. Any ediot could have written that crap. So if I posted a Facebook page to show that Hausas are descendants of Yorubas, does that mean I was correct after all it's on Facebook.

2. Even your Google snapshot betrayed you and prove you to be a low self esteem liar as the word Okun doesn't mean vitality. Okun is a greeting term among all Okunland. Okun as a greeting is a term used by only Okuns and it can loosely mean "weldone"

3. Your third picture nailed your coffin as an unintelligent liar with low self esteem. The Google snapshot you posted described Okun as Yoruba speaking. It takes a special kind of ST00PEED not to know the difference between Yoruba and Yoruba speaking. Guy, your dulness no be hear oo

In my first post to you, I stated that ability to speak a language does not make you part of that language. In the north, nearly everyone can speak Hausa but that doesn't make every Northerner a Hausa man. Same applies to Yoruba and many other major languages.
You don't seem to understand what you're writing... Okun is used generally in Ekiti and it's the same as Pẹlẹ in central Yoruba.
PoliticsRe: Why Is European Union Spelling Out Yoruba From Black Race During visa Survey? by Alba3:
Raskimonojendor:
The Yoruba, Bigger than Africa. Clearly, the Yorubas are an advanced civilization.

Leo Frobenius, a world renowned archaeologist carried out archaeological excavations at the ancient Yoruba city of Ife in Nigeria and published his findings in twelve volumes between 1921 and 1928. Frobenius theorised that the intricate bronze and terracotta sculptures he discovered at Ife were relics from the mythological city of Atlantis.
For you to really understand Yoruba, their Ancestors, history and development, you need to be open minded. There are 3 major Origins:
Urahurẹ (Ara wẹwẹ/kekere, they're the most ancient, they made those marks on the rocks in Ifedore LGA in Ekitiland and Ondo state. Also those archeological findings in Iwo Ẹlẹru, same area)

Ulesun ( related in origin to Kemet, and to some extent, Nok, etc. Some call them Atlantis.) They established Ife and they are the source of Yoruba religion, culture, art and sculptures. They're great people: the Obatala, the Ogun, the Orunmila, etc. Many traditionalists promote only these people as the source of Yoruba, they frown at every other fact, findings and history. They refuse to carry out researches and even look into the Ekiti Obas crisis decades ago, where Oore claimed to be number one but other Obas like Ewi said he's not Omo Ọwá but he was adopted by their grandfather, Iwa (Ọwá Oduduwa) on his coming from the East.

The migrants (Ọwá Oduduwa, his children and his people; few Phoenicians and Crete, Cushites, etc). It took them sometime to even intermarry with the locals. They were able to take over the ruling of every community. These people came with many innovations. The 8 day naming ceremony, circumcisions, twins seniority, etc. Phoenicians, who already got converted into Christianity, came through the sea in-between the period of the Semitic immigrations. The story of Moremi, her sacrificed son Ẹla on Ọjọ Ẹti, etc. they changed the naming of the days by the Ulesuns, reason you now have Ọjọ Isegun, Eti, Abameta, Aiku, etc.

The Uniqueness and greatness of the people refer to as Yoruba now is so deep. If only the people have revelations of who they are, they would never look back but pursue only greatness. Merging Yoruba with others in a country is the greatest evil Berlin conference and white race did to the people.
