Properties / Re: Ngor Okpala Contract Building Scam by Albertmoh(m): 11:06am On Jan 12, 2023
My God, thank God for the internet.

Ngor Okpala Street Light Contract Scam!

I am a solar contractor based in Lagos and some 5 days ago, I got a text message from one Mr. Collins Madu whose true caller name shows Collins Raymond: +2349164155081
asking if my company, Bertmoh Int'l Limited can handle solar street light Installation in Imo State. I responded to the affirmative and we got talking on Whatsapp.

He said an association of his community in Nor Okpala based in Canada is to sponsor the project and that he's a member of the committee. He requested that I send in a quote for 1,550 units of all-in-one solar street light which I did. The quote amounted to over N300 million. Lol. See me rejoicing to a grand start of the year. I mean, who wouldn't?

Few days after receiving the quote, he responded, congratulating me that the committee has approved my quote and requested that I come down to Imo State with 1 or 2 samples of the light to demonstrate how it works.

Though I was happy about his response of acceptance, but with caution. Cause we've been on this street long enough to not be cautious. From start, I had been trying to get details of him to enable me investigate him but nothing much.

Today, Thursday, 12th January, I called to tell him to kindly provide funds for the 2 samples So I can come with them on Friday like he requested; to which he declined, saying that their sponsors didn't make any such provision. Lol.

Guess what? He said another contractor from Ibadan has been contracted to handle 450 units of same, and that the project was ongoing. We went on a video call and he actually showed me concrete bases which he claimed were done by the "Ibadan contractor".

At this point, my defense got a bit weakened, but I was sha still shining my eyes and wouldn't give in. When the video call started, I saw that the selfie camera was dusty, and this seemed artificial and intentional to me. But I was able to take a screenshot of him, still.

After I dropped the call, I decided to go on Google and search for "Ngor Okpala scam." That's how I landed here on nairaland with many other similar experiences by other contractors, some of whom say they were divested of tens, hundreds, and even millions of naira.

Again, thank God for the internet. Else, I would've tried to physically go confirm my curiosity, and who knows how it would've ended?

Moral lesson, keep your curioucity awake, always. Pay less attention to the benefits and more to due diligence.

Finally, thanks to those who left their experiences online. You saved me and many others. Let's do more of this. God bless us all.

Better for your clearance sake !!

Those are your evidence to rectify errors and confirm payments .

But now that I have already paid for the form via transfer and have been debited, does it mean I'll have to forgo that and pay for another form? Is there no way I can resolve this and finish the whole process online, pls?
Education / Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by Albertmoh(m): 2:06pm On Dec 28, 2022
Enskynelson:

Use "CONTINUE AFTER PAYMENT"
ENTER only the digits of the RRR
eg. 123456789012
Instead of 1234-5678-9012
If you still have issues, go to nouonline.net. click Check RRR, enter the RRR like I said above and click check and make sure it is successful then try again.
I hope this help.

I've tried option 1 above, still same "wrong RRR or no response from Remita" message. For the second option, I can't find the button for "check RRR".

This thing is tiring me out. Worse part is how the customer service lines and email are mere cosmetics. Sent a mail since 5 days, no response. And this is super to be a fully online techn-based institution. Does take this much stress for students to get help?
Education / Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by Albertmoh(m): 8:43am On Dec 28, 2022
Ok, I'll try that now and revert. Thanks.

Pls help.
I followed the undergrad form purchase process down to payment level. Made payment and came back to click "I've sent the money" but the system failed to confirm the payment despite that Remita had been credited and logged me off the NOUN site.

I tried getting back to the site, clicked on 'continue after payment', entered the Remita RRR but keep getting a 'wrong RRR or no response from Remita' message. What do I do, pls? I've sent a mail to NOUN, no response. Their customer care lines are not even working.
Pls help.

I was in Namibia in 2014 for tourism. Visa fee was just 13k. Duration of my stay was just for 9 days. They give u what u state on your application. Their immigration is very crazy. I was held up for close to 8 hrs. They kept asking why I chose Namibia of all Southern African countries. Y not SA? I was thoroughly searched and my visa was repeatedly scanned. Their reason was they stopped Nigerians and Ghanians from entering their country cos they come with alot of fake documents and once they are in their country, they go straight to their immigration to get their passport. Their passport is visa free to UK and other reasonable countries. Mind u I'm a female. They eventually allowed me in cos of my gender, called d hotel if I have paid and counted my BTA. That was way back in 2014 oo. I spent only 5 days in their country cos i had an emergency back home and when i was checking out, they were very glad about my honesty of returning back to my country. They even asked me when i will be coming back to their country.Imagine now that they know Nigeria is in recession and an average Nigerian is looking for an escape route.
The honest truth is d guy is locked up to be deported back to Nigeria. Namibia immigration is very tough. They don't like West Africans at all . Op, the pastor's name is Pastor Kenny of Christ embassy right?
pls forgive my ignorance..what's BTA? thanks.

Politics / Re: Boko Haram Calls For Election Boycott, Jonathan Seeks US Help by Albertmoh(m): 10:47pm On Feb 14, 2015
sincerenigerian:
It is now obvious Jonathan is looking for ways to put Nigeria under military occupation in order for him to remain in power. I sensed this last week when he declared in a church that "Boko Haram is trying to unleash terror on the entire country in the next few day" which necessitated military alliance going on in the North-east. Jonathan knows he is about to lose this election and ready to do anything to remain in power. The next few week will be an interesting week as he loses his grip on power.

I am seeing Lawrence Gbagbo scenario playing itself out in Nigeria again. If Jonathan likes himself and want to be there for his children for a long time, he should just let the election hold and accept the outcome. He may as well resign from office.

Jonathan is playing a script. Jonathan next line of script is to sabotage INEC by dismissing Jega and appoint a new Chairman who can play ball with him. Jonathan and PDP are not ready to allow free and fair election.

What makes you feel GEJ is a desperado? Its obvious u r jes trying 2 twist talks cos I'm sure u know who d real desperados are: Who wouldn't mind doin anything including claimin d lives of thousands of innocent Nigerians just to prove somebody of being incompetent. Felow Nigerians, let's not be mislead by temporal benefits and unrealistic promises 4rm some desperate power seekers and modgage our future and that of our posterity. Think right! Vote wisely.

[quote author=kimond101 post=29606047]This is coming in when I'm watching the PDP campaign. Mr. President is dancing, his citizens are dying.
Should the president turn his campaign flag off into a mourning Session and beging to weep b4 it would be seen that he feels bad abt d tragedy? Of cos no. I think we should just be asking ourselves some vital questions like: why is it that its alway when PDP is having 1 function or d other that such tragedies spring up? Why not yesterday or 2 days ago when d APC wr having their campaign? I'm a not partisan bt I think I'm beging 2 dis dis as a tool by some dirty politicians 2 raise just the same kind of questions u just asked now my brother and mk Nigerians C notin gud abt d GEJ admin.
