How can I network on twitter and LinkedIn?

I only know of Twitter Sha. But have not even been really active on both platforms. For Twitter you can follow some devs like pratham an Indian... They share secrets on how to network and build an audience on Twitter.

Just make sure ure adding value to the community and let people know what you are into I mean building ur projects publicly....personal projects.

The pratham guy with over 300k followers started with css animation and the rest they say is history. Just find a niche...create value...join spaces and the right connection will come

Wow great thread. Abeg u guys should comment your code or at least give us the approach u used in tackling the questions because of beginners like me interested in learning DSA. So we don't get scared off cheesy

I highly recommend the book " grokking algorithm" or "a common sense guide to DSA" for absolute beginners.

It seems the competition the industry is at an all time high...laying off of staffs here and there in fortune500 companies. It such a wonderful time to be a developer. Makes things fun.

I live you guys with a quote from Anais Nin “We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are”.

I really have a lot of assignments to do. Not really been taking the DSA boot camp serious. Bye for now.

My resolution this year
Build more react projects.

Focus on building an audience on Twitter

Technical writing on medium/hashnode

Networking.

Public speaking.

Upskill and start freelancing/ jobs or anything just to get my feet into the industry.

And yes I have noticed that a good knowledge of mathematics or let's say logic will give one an edge in solving some of the leetcode questions especially when time is a priority.

And have been reading books on other genre too. I will highly recommend the book "the monk who sold is ferari" to anyone still struggling to find their purpose in this chaotic world. "The alchemist us a wonderful read too"
Programming / Re: I Want To Work At Google: Journey Of A Software Developer by AlchemyOfCodes: 9:11pm On Jan 09, 2023
Set a target of at least 3 leetcode questions let day. I eventually brought it down to one...really struggling with some of them. Realize I was doing medium questions..would have been best if a I started from the easy part. I know better now.

Downloaded a PDF with about 100 leetcode questions with solutions segmented into the brute Force approach and the Dynamic solutions.

Read another book on react...didn't finish it. The best book on react out there is the "The road to react"... Already finished it twice..but I still know nothing. Hopefully when I start building projects things will fall in place.

Still not finished the head first java. I had to stop when I gut to the GUI aspect. I guess I already know enough write some codes on DSA.

Yeah guys it so good to be back. I had a little ish with my phone so I was basically offline. Haven't still got my laptop fixed but I am still very much on course..at least am improving every day.

Have been reading books on DSA. I read algorithm for dummies. Even though I skipped some part when it's getting too theoretical and the book was kinda emphasizing on machine learning or AI.

Yo I almost dumped Java because of the book. Read a whole book on python. But thanks to the gods of java, they wouldn't let me be.

And yes the indentation in Python is a thing, coming from a JavaScript background...life without those curly braces will be hell.

Ok guys, finally done the exam. The good news is that I finally got into a DSA bootcamp where I get to rub shoulders with guys from Microsoft and the likes. The bad news my laptop suddenly crashed a day to my final papers.

When I charge the system, the indicator light blinks but the system will not boot. If anyone has an idea of what the issue is.

Right now , I will continue the DSA book on my phone.... At least one leetcode question everyday. Go back to my default mode of reading books. And hopefully I get it fixed soon. This thread ain't dying .

So guys... it seems this youtube clone is not working...not really progressing...just fixing bugs plus the fact that I have not properly learnt react. My Oga wey want help me self never resume...not sure he is ever going to resume with the current state of things. So have ditched this youtube clone project. I am starting with Brad traversy playlist Which is kind of organized.. simple to complex. Starting now with the expense tracker.

Yo guys, I finally started react yesterday. I continued the YouTube clone I was working on. Omo everything looks like Greek to me. Couldn't do anything yesterday cos my system was seriously lagging. Had to remove Xampp and some Java application.

Did an hr of react today too. But, my data no gree fetch. Have messaged one of my ogas Sha. I hope we get this fixed as soon as he resumes.

Currently on my way to overnight. Omo no rest for me this semester Sha...I just hope I can get over this exam as soon as I can so I can code in peace.

Ok guys! Based on the advise have gotten here and the fact that getting my foot into the industry will fast track my growth. I will be focusing on react. Building at least one major project per week. Will still stick to 1 hr per day and 2hrs per day on weekends.

After exams will go back to learning the two simultaneously. Thank y'all for the advise. It is part of the reasons that keep me going...knowing that at least there are people here counting on me. I will never give up.
Programming / Re: I Want To Work At Google: Journey Of A Software Developer by AlchemyOfCodes: 6:39pm On Oct 28, 2022
C++ or maybe python for absolute beginners. Never used any of them, but people seem to prefer these duo.

Alchemy, Leave DSA for now and focus on your school and React. Your priority as a student is to your academics and probably a tech job that will help you pay the bills in school. Since you're learning React, I assume you're a front-end developer like I am. The Job I just got a week ago, didn't need my leetcode or my hackerrank and I'm a student like you also. After your exams you can continue DSA but i feel it's not a priority for an FE dev. God bless bro

Programming / Re: I Want To Work At Google: Journey Of A Software Developer by AlchemyOfCodes: 10:52pm On Oct 27, 2022
guys shit is getting real now. exam is next month, have multiple of test to write in the coming weeks and the worst of it all. My tech journey is struggling. I have not have a decent sleep for the past two days. But am still resilient sha. got my 3rd star on hackerrank today and it kinds of rekindle hope. Will have to go back to my default mode of 1 hr per day. If not for anything, am determined to make the very best out of this semester...better than my previous grades. I have determined that my grades wont suffer cos of tech. I am not desperate to get a job and willing to learn in depth and achieve my goal no matter hw long.

so far so good havent been paying more attention to this tech thing. But have been moving with the speed of a tornado in academics. hope I keep up the tempo sha. I dey keep tech in check...because it consumes and and posess the entire mind and being of an individual.

even the DSA course they carry me where I know know. I applied for a DSA bootcamp. I hope everything turns out well. Now I have started avoiding questions on hackerrank that will take time for me to even decode the question... only focussing on questions with higher percentage pass rate to save time.

wo undecided I wont suggest using java for anyone that wants to learn DSA. java has been a pain in the ass.

ProfAyomi:
That reminds me, plan I have this dsa question that has been bothering me. How to you read a 3 letter palindrome from a string of characters in reverse.

I was able to read them going forward but I can't read the strings from the back.

For example:

gbabul will give bab reading it from the front. But if I have a longer string of characters and I need to read it from behind for a faster run time.

For instance
ghjuhiyusinohsjghsrhsjggskkhsuisvjbab
Will still give bab but it will take more run time even though it isn't that obvious. But it will be better if the program can read both forward and backwards simultaneously and spit out the answer faster.

I wrote it in C and it was still extremely fast but when I wrote it with python for longer strings, it gets considerably slower the longer the string becomes especially if the palindrome is t the back.

Pls, alchemyOfCodes, boss qtguru, and other bosses, come to my aid. My head won't stop thinking about it and I need to read for exam ooooo

Note, it must be a 3 letter palindrome

Yeah guys, spent the bulk of the day reading my course notes. I am satisfied with my accademic pace, So I will be coding for 2hrs+ today...I know I reneged on my plans but it is what it is.... lectures haven't commence fully.

Solved an hackerrank question today....No I actually cheated. I haven't hack the question till now. I hope to do that tonight. Have also downloaded some videos on DSA from my Coursera course which I will also watch.

But seriously must junior devs be bothered with this DSA thing. I heard they are now asking DSA for internship position. Anyways will stick to the game plan. I must attain the height of a Jedi in this DSA thing. And yeah, I will start applying for internship position next year... after I must have solidify my knowledge on
react

Since am a little bit satisfied with my academic pace. I will be practicing react during the weekends. My schedule may still change later depending on accademic demand.

Yes all the books I started but never finished have been hunting me in my dreams. So i decided to read 1 page of head first Java every day. At all at all na in bad

Yo guys I finally settled down in school today. The sad thing is there is light but no socket and bulb. Boys don run am...hostel things grin

Will continue hackerrank and DSA tommorow... strictly 30mins hackerrank and 30mins DSA.

Me and one of my roommate b4 the strike were coding together. He made life easier for me in react as I was always running into bugs and he was always there to fix it.

He actually got a gig and he wanted me to translate a figma design into codes using react even when I just started learning react...but my laptop crashed. He is now a big boy now lolgrin

School might not really stress me with lectures as I thought...most of my lecturers are out of the country Well, but exam is imminent....so I still need to stress myself.

Will use today to chill. Then tommorow I will continue on my learning streak. This might be the last lengthy update I will drop here. After exams, will be back.

And for the guy who thinks am a troll. Keep living in a fool's paradise.

About the username written the same way. If you are a programmer, you should have heard of the word "camelcase"-nothing special attached to it. As for my comment on the other thread, well have been following the thread for some time.

I do go through threads of others who eventually got jobs to keep myself motivated when I feel like giving up. If they can do it, why can't I?I think there was a network issue and this back button on chrome that directed me to the other thread. Manof the year will probably be laughing at your folly.

Again I don't have any reason to waste my time here composing fairy tales. Na him I go chop? Someone here did ask for my Twitter profile link and I sent it privately. Am done here.

Devdevdev:
I've been going through a lot of threads on this section to gain more insight on my chosen career. It's better to learn from the experiences of otherz.

Few minutes ago, I stumbled on a thread created by TheManofTheYear detailing how he worked hard to get a job as a front end developer as well as his technical writing gigs he got. This is the thread: https://www.nairaland.com/7100014/job-hunting-experiences-junior-developer

One thing that struck me was the writing style. It was too elaborate and very detailed. Almost like he sat down to carefully think about every single detail, as opposed to someone who was just writing his recent experiences. It struck me as fake. As a fiction writer in my spare time, this was very evident to me.

Well, as with most frauds, he made a mistake which to be honest I was surprised he didn't detect. He commented on his TheManofTheYear thread with his AlchemyofCodes account and posted as if he was writing on the thread he created with his AlchemyofCodes account. Obviously he forgot he was posting on his other thread and not on the new one.

Bottom line: Everything written my the TheManofTheYear and AlchemyofCodes account is all made up. It's a troll behind both accounts. Probably an ASUU strike student who wanted to test his fictional writing skills and deceive everyone on Nairaland, well except me.

This adds up if you consider both usernames are written the same way and that both also write the same fuçking way; Detailing cock and bull stories about their lives as if they were writing a diary. This is even the deadest give away.

Also TheManofTheYear was careful not to reveal his identity, even when people were pleading to chat with him offline. He also never posted a link to his GitHub or any of his projects that could reveal his identity

Long time guys....light has not been const here for the last couple of days. I am resuming soon and I have been making preparations. I hope things will be a little bit better when I get to school.

School calendar is out and I will be taking exams in few weeks. Will be limiting programming to just an hr per day maybe more at weekends. Just DSA and hackerrank, react will need to chill for now.

Might not be dropping updates like b4, syllabus won kill me. After d exams, will be back fully. Cheerio!
