Police are trying to figure out why several firefighters intentionally burned down homes early in the morning, according to police in New York.

Suffolk County Police Acting Commissioner Stuart Cameron announced the arrests of three volunteer firefighters for setting fires in Central Islip and Hauppauge.

Following an investigation by Arson Section detectives, with the assistance of the Central Islip Fire Department, 19-year-old Austin Lehman, 25-year-old Stephen Hernandez, and 27-year-old Shawn Key were arrested in connection with fires intentionally set at abandoned houses over a period of 3 months.

Luckily, no one was injured in any of the fires.

All three men are members of the Central Islip Fire Department.

Hernandez and Lehman were charged with five counts of arson for their involvement in all five fires.

Key was charged with one count of arson.

The three men were arraigned at the First District Court in Central Islip, where they pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

The fires were all set early in the morning.

The houses were totally destroyed as a result of the fires.

Cameron blasted the firefighters, saying that they put their fellow firefighters in danger for no reason.

The fire chief called these firefighters an anomaly.

Victorville, California police arrested a 14-year-old boy, this week, who dressed up in a sheriff’s uniform, put emergency lights on his grandma’s car, and drove around “responding” to disturbances.

After the real police pulled him over, they searched his home and found “counterfeit money, simulation firearms, ballistic vests and other law enforcement related items.”

Police also realized the teen had a busy night before he was pulled over: He had pulled over a woman in a fake traffic stop, and asked for her identification, police said. The teen let her off with a warning.

The dressed-up teen told the 16-year-old he was responding to a domestic disturbance call. But when the imposter was told no one had made such a call, he left the scene, police said.

A burglar called the police in Georgia to report he found a dead man while he was breaking into a motel.

The dead man who went missing 2 months ago was found dead inside a wall in the building.

Police in Georgia said that the bizarre discovery was made by a burglar who broke into the motel to steal copper wire.

Just last week, the Spalding County Police announced a $2,000 reward for information about Timothy Allen Johnson who was reported missing.

Police believe that Johnson was at the vacant motel trying to steal copper as his body was discovered in an area that had copper pipes.

The police have not yet named the man who found the body but they said that he will not receive the reward as he found the missing person while he was involved in a crime.

An Ontario man who left his common-law partner after buying a winning lottery ticket has been awarded half the $6 million jackpot while the rest of the prize remains in legal dispute.

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. in Canada ruled on the dispute, saying it confirmed Maurice Thibeault purchased the ticket and will pay him half the winnings.

The agency says it will freeze the other half for 45 days, during which Thibeault and his ex-girlfriend Denise Robertson, who argues she’s owed half the winnings, can still settle the matter privately or decide to take part in the OLG’s arbitration process.

After that, however, it says the money will be turned over to the courts to rule on.

Thibeault and Robertson lived together in Chatham, Ont., for a few years and bought lottery tickets together every week, each taking turns to make the purchase and sharing winnings evenly.

'When it was announced that one of the winning tickets had been bought in their city, Robertson asked Thibeault if they had won, which he allegedly denied,’ the lady’s lawyer said.

A few days later, Robertson came home from work to find that Thibeault had moved out and taken all his things. She then learned from mutual friends that Thibeault had won the lottery and quit his job.

However, before Thibeault could collect the money, Robertson and her lawyers obtained an injunction barring the OLG from doling out the prize.

In a statement, Robertson suggested she hoped to resolve the dispute out of court.

“I keep hoping that Maurice will simply do the right thing and acknowledge our agreement to share, knowing that he would have expected me to share with him if I had been the one to go to the store that day,” she said.
