Inception12: Hello People,
Just a random question, what happens when you get COPR but your medicals or passport expire before you land in Canada? Does the whole process start afresh or you just resubmit passport and new medicals? mosbiod: I do notthink your answer is right, however, I stand to be corrected...haba, start over again? just because of Expired Naija passport and Expired Medicals?? Well I think during the PPR, your passport should be valid for the next 12months before you now have the COPR. So if you are still in Naija for another 11 months after COPR, that means you intentionally forfeited the visa. mcstan18: My take on this is that if your application is still being processed 1-2 months before your medicals expire, IRCC will either a) extend your medicals if you're inland or b) request new ones if you're outland.
Moreso, you'll be asked to redo your medicals if and when they're about to expire. Your CoPR will be valid for as long as your new medicals are valid. However if you had lots of time to land but just didn't get around to it, you may be out of luck and have to apply from scratch again. It's really up to the visa office. In the case stated by inception12 the COPR has been received already. Meaning the COPR will have an expiry date equal to the expiry of the international passport or medicals, depending on which comes first |

Which ever comes first. It is stated in your COPR. And you can't go anywhere with expired COPR. It's no longer valid. It is stated in the COPR that you MUST land while your COPR is still valid. And the expiry date CANNOT be extended. Cheers. |

MrsI: Did he return his passport and copr? Or he waited till he got the new PPR before he did? He had not gotten his passport back with COPR before he got married so his passport was still with his local VO while he added his wife |

MrsI: Good morning.
I have a question please...... I got my copr last year but had to get married afterwards. I informed cic and they sent a looooong list of requirements which we have sent. That was early December. However, I'm yet to get any response from them. And I can't even tell what stage I'm in. Has anyone been in this situation and what was the timeline before they responded? My medicals will be expiring in a couple of months and I'm expected to land before then.
Please I'd appreciate a response. Thank you You should have gotten a response by now. Took a friend of mine 2 days for them to acknowledge and process his wife's documents after which he was sent another PPR. Just 2 days after he submitted all requirements. Though he's an Indian but his VO was Ottawa. In his own case he was yet to get his passport back with COPR before he got married so his passport was still with his local VO while he was sent another PPR so he sent his wife's passport. Call IRCC or send a mail to Ottawa asking for the status of your application. |

vcole: Una no vex. I know this is the wrong thread for this but abeg no vex. Please help me torchlight this kweshun. Does anyone know what the rules are for updating family info after receiving ppr but before copr? I have someone who just got ppr on thursday and was already scheduled to marry on Saturday. As per they had done intro months before and had done the registry app thing and Saturday was d approved wedding date. However ppr came on thursday. Can he still update his info that he's now married and what are the implications? His timeline from aor to ppr was 4 weeks so it was unexpected. He should send a mail to Ottawa (I hope his VO was ottawa) notifying them that he just got married and would like to include her as accompanying spouse. He should also ask them if he could still go ahead and send his passport now or wait till he's sent another PPR that will come after his wife's documents must have been uploaded and reviewed. The only implication is that his timeline will further increase by maybe a month or even less. |

Made the same mistake while registering for IELTS. I went to BC to inform them and the lady collected my details and sent a link to my email through which I then uploaded copy of my international passport. eyoiba: Hello house, Please I urgently need your advice. When registering for my wife's ielts, I inadvertently uploaded her passport photo in the place holder for International Passport. I have submitted the application and gotten confirmatory email already. It just just occurred to me not quite long. Please is it possible to edit or can I cancel and register afresh as I have searched the BC site for where that can be done without results.
Proposed test date is January 2nd 2018.
Please I need suggestions and it's very urgent.
Thanking you in advance. |

Bsbabe: Get ITA, submit your APR (with AOR confirmation), let small breeze blow on your AOR (as advised by a good senior), marry her and then notify IRCC to add her - she will do medicals, PCC and you will update your POF. However if your PPR happens to be one of those that come out with speed of light like some people on this forum and you get PPR before the breeze has finished blowing, I can’t help you with that one One can still get married and add spouse after receiving COPR but before landing. cc: Guitarlife |

Words on marble! You couldn't have said it any better!!! Algbenguze: In the words of a fellow Nairalander: "There's a way you can tell someone to go to hell and he'll be looking forward to the journey".
Diplomacy is a valuable skill to have; it can unlock some impossible doors. The ability to pass across a message purely without the usual accompanying "noise"(in whichever form) is very rare. Some have it, others don't. Truth is, not everyone can/should have it because God created everything in variety for a reason. It has its pros and also its cons, maybe more of the former. Those who possess it get along with far more people (and enjoy the accompanying benefits) than others. Wisdom is also in understanding that people are, and will be, different so we should take them for who they are, not what they "should" be. With the passage of time, experience always reveals which side pays the higher dividend, and no other person but you will reap the benefits/consequences of your different actions or attitudes. |
