Politics / Oworonshoki Drop Off Warning by Alexious(m): 10:30am On May 09 |
OWORONSHOKI DROP OFF WARNING There is presently a ring of extorting LASTMA officials and embedded MOPOL at the Oworonshoki end of the Third Mainland Bridge ready to fleece private vehicle drivers who plan to drop off a passenger/passengers. Coming from Lagos Island, at the foot of the 3rd Mainland Bridge is a massive bus stop built by former Governor Ambode. Within that space there are 5 lanes for possible drop off. The first 3 are for public transport, while the last 2 are for private vehicles. Now because the posts for directions are fairly high the average driver will not see it (and most after than not he/she doesn't even expect a differentiation). If you attempt to use any of the first 3 lanes, you will not be warned off. The moment you park and your passenger is about to drop; the LASTMA official will pounce on you, informing you that you just dropped passengers on a wrong lane. At this point any attempt to beg or plead your ignorance is a waste of time. Next they threaten to impound your vehicle for days and maybe send you to Oshodi for driver training. The average Lagos driver quickly arranges to "settle " the matter immediately. The driver (who is usually in a hurry anyway) is asked to settle himself with about N5,000.00 to N10,000.00. This is done in a small compound at the North of this bus park. As expected, only cash will be accepted, and the collector is a civilian -to protect the extortionists from the risk of a hidden camera. This man then transfers the cash to the LASTMA officials later in the day. Advice IF YOU HAVE TO DROP OFF A PASSENGER AT OWORONSHOKI, LOOK UP AND READ THE PARKING INSTRUCTIONS. PRESENTLY THE FIRST 3 LANES ARE FOR PUBLIC TRANSPORT;WHILE THE LAST 2 ARE FOR PRIVATE VEHICLES. BY THE TIME THIS POST GOES VIRAL, THEY MAY MOVE THE POSTS; SO IT IS BEST TO LOOK OUT FOR THE CORRECT LANE ON THE SIGN POSTS BEFORE CHOOSING. PLEASE LET THIS ALERT GO VIRAL BY FORWARDING TO ALL YOUR PLATFORMS -CONCERNED CITIZEN. 1 Like 1 Share |

Is that what you really want to do? Well not to dissuade you from your plan but there are other profitable ventures like poultry ( layers). However if you get a good location with good population of teens and kids including game savvy youths, you can get good patronage. The combination of game center and barbing saloon is cool. Factor cost of shop rent, game consoles and other Accessories for barbing. All the best. |

Hummm. In this period it's boils down to the person you giving it to. There's positive and negative. Also location is a factor. Structure a good agreement, background check and provision of a guarantor. However in this economic situation, it's mostly those who drive their cars that really take something home. It's dicy. 3 Likes 1 Share |

serviced by a qualified technician. Avoid Using Low-Quality Accessories When installing a CNG kit, avoid utilizing low-quality parts. Check to see if the cylinder and fuel lines are of good quality and made according to industry requirements. Make sure the CNG kit you purchase is compatible with your vehicle. If the kit is incompatible with the automobile or of poor quality, there is a great risk of fire or damage to the car’s components. CNG Car vs. Petrol Car Mileage Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is used in CNG cars, and the fuel is measured in kilograms rather than liters. When compared to a petrol car, a CNG vehicle has a high fuel economy. For example, the Wagon R’s CNG version gets 32.52 kilometers per kilogramme of CNG. In comparison, the petrol model gets 21.79 kilometers per liter of petrol. Engine Life It is said that use of CNG fuel will make your engine lifespan shorter than it usually is. However, this is just another myth and misconception regarding CNG fuel. With the correct use of CNG kits installed in factories will help your car’s engine to live longer and work with more efficiency. Modern CNG cars with factory-installed CNG kits are equipped with an ECU (Electronic Regulation Unit) that allows for precise fuel delivery control. The components of the engine are made keeping in mind about the fuel of CNG. Because of that the lifespan of the engine doesn’t get affected. With proper care and maintenance, you can have the most of your car and its engine as it will work smoothly. Maintenance CNG cars and petrol cars components that are used in the mechanics of the car are completely identical and same. However, the CNG kit is different. It includes things like the tank and fuel lines among all the other components of a CNG car. Both CNG and petrol cars require the same basic maintenance. But a CNG car requires more care and attention as it has many other components attached to it. The rest of the car’s maintenance is similar to that of a petrol car. 2 Likes |

SalamRushdie: need good maintenance . When compared to petrol, CNG is a highly combustible gas. Accidents can occur even if there is a minor leak from the CNG cylinder or fuel line. That is why maintaining a CNG vehicle is so crucial. Let’s have a look at some tips to maintain your CNG Car: Replace your spark plugs with CNG-compatible ones Because they are responsible for fuel combustion, spark plugs are one of the most crucial components of an engine. Make sure you replace your spark plugs with CNG-compatible ones when installing a CNG kit. If you can’t find CNG-compatible spark plugs, you’ll have to narrow the distance between the spark source and the spark plug’s metal tip. Unauthorized CNG kits must be avoided Modern CNG automobiles come with factory-installed CNG kits, and it’s always preferable to buy a CNG car with a CNG kit already installed. However, the majority of individuals attempt to convert their petrol cars to CNG cars, and in the process, they wind up having a local mechanic install a CNG kit. Avoid using local dealers or mechanics to install CNG kits because this could result in leaks or damage to the car’s mechanicals. Checks on a consistent basis Check the cylinder and fuel lines for leaks or damage on a regular basis if you own a CNG vehicle. Overfilling the cylinder should also be avoided, as this can result in gas leaks. CNG leakage can be deadly because it can result in an explosion. As a result, you should inspect the cylinder for symptoms of damage or leaks on a regular basis, and if necessary, have the CNG kit serviced by a qualified technician. Avoid Using Low-Quality Accessories When installing a CNG kit, avoid utilizing low-quality parts. Check to see if the cylinder and fuel lines are of good quality and made according to industry requirements. Make sure the CNG kit you purchase is compatible with your vehicle.
