EducationRe: OAU Unveils 2013 NUGA Logo And Mascot, Games Starts Oct. 2 by AlexJ1(m): 4:28pm On Sep 16, 2013
I don't wanna miss this Games. ASUU abeg o. I may never have another chance to attend any. Never had any tho. #TeamOAU And for all those grumbling about the aesthetic quality of the logo, an ugly logo doesnt necessarily mean an ugly tournament. Likewise, it doesnt follow that a Games is beautiful or colourful because of its logo. Trusting OAU for a successful NUGA Games tho. #IRepOAU

What's the difference between 105k and 102k or is 102k supposed to make it sound cheaper?
CelebritiesRe: Real Face Of Lagbaja by AlexJ1(m): 8:13pm On Apr 27, 2013
kolokolobi: That's Bisade Ologunde aka lagbaja. Knew him back in the days at bread and butter and later pintos night club leading the band called colours. He is a soft spoken and i dare say very intelligent fellow who graduated from oau or ibadan with a degree in zoology. He should be in the 50 year region.

All that said it's good he used the lagbaja concept to deliver his music. You and i may not have accepted him if we could put a face to it. He is a fantastic bass guitar player in case we don't know. The closest i came to him was at his house then on adeniyi Jones where i went to pick up some stuff. He is an extremely shrewd business man who doesn't suffer fools.
Graduated from OAU and i think, Elect Elect.
CelebritiesRe: Real Face Of Lagbaja by AlexJ1(m): 8:10pm On Apr 27, 2013
I can't say if that's him or not but for all you asking why the celeb chose to hide his face, i'll tell u what. Some people want peace and rest of mind. Someone described Lagbaja as the luckiest nigerian artiste cos he doesnt get harassed in public by fans. The interesting thing about the man-in-the-mask is that he could be your next door neighbour and you, for all u're worth, won't suspect a thing. Lagbaja is the only artiste i know that will continue to grace the music industry and pique the interest of nigerians and Africans in general for more than a 100 years to come (open to corrections). But there's the bad side tho. Anyway, have u ever wondered what LAGBAJA means?

50calibre: So would you prefer those animals keep killing our Igbo brothers? If there is a solution that leads to peace, shouldn't it be embraced so as to avoid further loss of life?
Who says this is a lasting solution to peace? You cant buy peace. What happens when the money runs out? They go on another killing spree and then FG pays again and the cycle keeps coming. For how long?

Dudu_Negro: my brothers,

your political leaders and your traditional leaders made a trip to Kano and gave this commitment to the Kano State Governor. now, who is Hausa slave in Nigeria? this is second time this Eze went to Kano in six months. he went not long ago to settle dispute between a real eze and impostor eze. in Kano.

here is the message : burn your biafran flags and start waving the Green/White/Green. Igbo continues to serve as footmat for Hausa to wipe feet on.

pack of intimidated COWARDS!!
Nonsense

@topic
Those guys there represent their interests and not the interest of Ndi-igbo. We dont recognise that voice.
PoliticsRe: Forgive Boko-Haram: Turai Pleads With Jonathan by AlexJ1(m): 10:06pm On Apr 07, 2013
I dont care about Turai's opinion. She definately cant claim to be a saint on this matter. GEJ and Nigerians should look at the bigger picture. If granted amnesty,... i mean if sponsored with more cash, these demons will come back to hunt us in 5yrs time, fully loaded and the govt of that time may not be able to match their zeal and firepower. Now is the time to crush them. Amnesty to BH = Empowerment to terrorism. Besides, since majority of these guys are faceless, the amnesty may even end in the pockets of their sponsors. That means good and profitable return for them and they will invest more in this, since there's always amnesty.

No, they are non-functional because of the attitudes of those responsible for their availability.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan: Our Greatest Challenge Is Our Attitutude Not Corruption. by AlexJ1(m): 2:31pm On Dec 30, 2012
OsunOriginal: Shut up your evil mouth... Are you telling me the terrible state of our roads is not caused by corruption? Are Nigerians reckless drivers or drunkards?

GEJ should stop ambarrassing us. Government should fix all roads first and you can then begin to blame subsequent accidents on reckless driving or attitude.
First of all, you didn't need to curse. Not all Nigerian drivers are sane drivers. That suggests that there are reckless ones. Just before 15th of this month when students in my school were preparing to vacate, a student was killed by a reckless driver who was on his way TO a drinking joint in my campus. The driver was driving at speed fit for the highway on a good domestic road. He just made sure someone didn't go home to his parents and loved ones, ever. If such a person could be found on a small campus community, how about in a bigger picture of over 40 million car owners.
GEJ merely suggested that corruption is a subset of attitude; a content of attitude!

BetaThings: http://thenationonlineng.net/new/news/attitude-not-corruption-is-nigerias-problem-jonathan/

So why did we sack someone with the right attitude?
We are fighting corruption - no black eye? no blood. So why are we cutting budget of EFCC?
So why do we have more institution fighting corruption if it is not the problem
Should we not be putting more money into attitudinal change programmes like NOA (and what some people are doing on NL? - selling snake oil)
Attitude answers those. Mr President didn't say or suggest that he is free from that problem. He just stated a general truth.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan: Our Greatest Challenge Is Our Attitutude Not Corruption. by AlexJ1(m): 2:03pm On Dec 30, 2012
He's right. I totally concur. Corruption is not a person. We are prone to evil and good but we are not all evil or all good. Choosing and doing evil or good depends on character, attitude, perception et al. Until every individual adopts a positive attitude, Mr President continues to be right by this statement.

Jokes EtcRe: Eggs In A Bottle: How Did This Happen ? (see Pic) by AlexJ1(m): 1:26pm On Dec 30, 2012
When you look closely, you would notice that there's a part of the bottom that has been obscured by the eggs. It is possible that that part was cut with a razor (or something else) and covered after inserting the eggs. So you wouldn't really detect.

Nothing gained by that. No need for that vituperation. Point(s) made.

alabiyemmy: I dont think any school system in the world teaches innovation or creativeness. Ask Bill Gates, ask the guys at Google or even ask Mark himself.

How can any Nigerian youth be innovative when an average youth believes he cant do anything worthwhile with himself unless he travels abroad, or unless he has someone in high places. with such minds, how can they be innovative or creative?

However, it is wrong on the part of the writer to conclude that no Nigerian youth can be a millionaire at the age of 24 legitimately - such conclusions further brings down the psyche of the youth when they are being told by those who should know better that they cant succeed.

Most will blame it on leadership - but then, is it the government that will make you broaden your mind to see endless possibilities laid before you? I like the writer to read books on success and succeeding in life. It has nothing to do with age but on how you are able to use your mind.

With such assumptions above, an average youth is already consigned to a never do well thought process. Guys, you can make it if you want.
The guy didn't say that dreaming big is the problem or that Nigerian youth don't dream. Of course we dream big but according to @post, "the Nigerian society appears not to be very dream-friendly in terms of helping her youths and the entire citizenry aspire to become the very best they can be."
@post
I totally agree with this "as you grow older, life becomes less about achieving your dreams and more about making your dreams fit into reality" cos that's exactly the Nigerian situation. Great piece!
PoliticsRe: Public Power Supply Continues To Improve by AlexJ1(m): 9:52pm On Dec 28, 2012
hey it's Christmas. It's always that way every Christmas. Domestic power supply rises as industrial power is used to supplement it. Industries are usually on partial break during this period. This, however, is as far as i know.

Arsene would like to congratulate the new parents and wish them a wonderful holiday. However, he would appreciate a meeting with the boy in private with hopes of landing him at Emirates come January next year. Don't forget, Arsene is a genius when it comes to spotting and grooming young talents. Arsene and the club would like to wish the boy and his parents well in future. Thank you.

Dis Guy:
Nah most of them will be safely in their state or home base, some will outside the country (for good!)
This isnt just about those corpers. Its general. You want to leave your home town or your state for another? For how long? Are you gonna take your family (immediate and extended) with u? Lol, its like running from your shadow. They can still get you directly or indirectly. Dont try to be a hero by talking. Its better to go home and enjoy your freedom (at least if not for yourself, for your loved ones and those that will suffer if you are no more) hoping they dont come for you while waiting for the suitable opportunity (that is if it comes in your lifetime) to get one back.
NYSCRe: 5 Kidnapped NYSC Corpers Freed By Rivers Police by AlexJ1(m): 9:03pm On Jun 20, 2011
I think these victims are usually threatened or warned of the dangers or consequences of disseminating whatever they saw, knew or heard. They could be advised to keep shut and if they must talk, they should keep it simple. In Nigeria, there is no guarantee of safety especially with our kind of security agencies. You know, if they got to them the first time, they can get to them again. Lolz, trust you dont want that happening.
