Gov. Bello Receives Honour From Women Group, Confirms Divorce Of 3rd Wife Hafiza

The executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello has been alleged to have officially divorced his 3rd Wife, Hafiza. This was confirmed few days ago in a remark he made, while receiving an award of honour from the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS).

According to reports, the Executive Governor of the state, Governor Yahaya Bello had appreciated his wives, Hajiya. Barr. Amina Yahaya Bello, and the First Lady HE, Hajiya Rashida Bello but left out Hafiza, which confirmed that he has already divorced her.

However, Governor Yahaya was honoured with the award for the Most Gender Sensitive Governor of the Year. According to the Organisers of the Awards and other Executive Members of National Council of Women Societies(NCWS), they stated that the nomination and recognition of Gov. Yahaya Bello was in view of his purposeful and conscious effort by his administration in the continuous appointment of women into sensitive and strategic offices in the leadership structure of Kogi state.

It was an avalanche of felicitation, goodwill messages, and encomium from friends, family, business associates, admirers, beneficiaries and well wishers as Dr. Chukwumobi, APAMS boss celebrated his birthday on 26th December, 2020 at Ukpor.

The executive governor of Anambra state, Chief Willie Obiano commended APAMS boss for his business sagacity. Describing Dr Chukwumobi, he stated thus : “You are a known philanthropist, a God fearing Onye Anambra and a grass root development agent. Few hours ago at the headquarters of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp-NSCDC, on 11th January 2021, the Commandant General, Abdullahi Mohammed Gana, received in-person the Permanent Secretary of Federal Ministry of Interior, Dr. Shuaib Belgore

The Permanent Secretary had visited NSCDC to inspect the recently built Covid19 Test Center and the 50 newly acquired Toyota Hilux. Speaking during the inspection exercise, the Permanent Secretary applauded CG Abdullahi Mohammed Gana for a job well done, stressing that his proactive Administration has brought several gainful achievements for the Agency.

The CG on the other hand appreciated the Ministry of Interior and their support towards NSCDC, especially under his watch. However, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp-NSCDC has over the years maintained and initiated sustainable measures to improve the efficiency of its service delivery by providing security of lives and properties for Nigerians, considering the available resources.

While Speaking to our correspondent, CG Abdullahi Mohammed Gana noted that the Agency, under his watch, will continue to create innovative strategies to ensure the resolution of insecurity in Nigeria.

The recent assaults by officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp-NSCDC and SSS officials on photojournalists who were trying to capture the pictures of the crowd at the NIMC headquarters on Wednesday 6th January 2021 has continued to attract several reactions. In line with this, the NSCDC has assured media practitioners of its move to recall and query the officials who were directly involved in the assault.


It was reported on Wednesday, that a mammoth crowd of people arrived the office of the National Identity Management Commission(NIMC) to get their ID numbers, only to realise that the the Commission was on strike. The huge crowd of people stood outside for hours and was unattended to, but few persons believed that members of Staff of the commission were yet attending to selected persons, refusing to attend to them and as a result of that they broke into the premises, when the gate was slightly opened.


The teaming crowd forcefully gained entrance into the premises when the gate was openned and in a bid to control the crowd, three media officials, Mr. Olu Aremo of the Leadership newspaper, Olatunji Obasa of The Punch newspaper, and Mudashiru Atanda of The Sun newspaper, were reportedly assaulted by the security officers, as their Camera were damaged, after been forced to delete the pictures they had captured.


However, a statement by Commandant Mathias of NSCDC in FCT has issued the immediate recall and query of ASC 11 Anthony Agboyeinyi, the NSCDC Official who was directly involved in the assault. He has also been referred to the National Headquarters Senior Staff Committee to make his case, as it assure media practitioners of justice.


The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp-NSCDC also assured Nigerians of its commitment in the protection of lives and property, stressing that any of its Personnels that defaults contrariwise will be severely punished.

Documents Revealed: How Ayeni resigned from OMS in 2018, lied to efcc and sold all his shares to Wells Property Limited.


The allegation by a former director of Ocean Marine Solutions (OMS) Limited, Mr Tunde John Ayeni, that the company was hijacked by Captain Hosa Okunbo has been contradicted by a series of validly-executed company resolutions and other documents was obtained by our reporter which he (Ayeni) signed, transferring his shares in OMS and its other associated companies to Wells Property Limited.

Ayeni had, through his lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on the matter and had also raised issues of alleged financial misappropriation by his erstwhile business partner, Captain Okunbo.

His narratives including the allegations most of which were not substantiated or backed up by documentary evidence, were contained in the nine-page petition dated December 7, 2020 and titled: “Request for investigation of stealing and criminal diversion of company fund”.

All the documents made available by the management of OMS in its defence clearly showed that Ayeni was part of the processes and meetings that culminated in his transfer of all his shares in OMS and its associated companies to Wells Property Development Company Limited.

Significantly, he and his wife, Abiola Ayeni, duly signed the special resolution of their Prime Union Investment Limited where he is Chairman Board of Directors/shareholder and with wife as Director/shareholder in respect of the sale of 30,000,000 ordinary shares in OMS to Wells Property Development Limited for a consideration of N2 billion only.
The special resolution was dated August 14, 2018.

All the shareholders had subsequently executed a share purchase agreement and other necessary documentations required to completely transfer all the shares held in OMS devoid of any liability or encumbrance to Wells Property Development Company Limited.
The documents confirmed that as far back as 2018, Ayeni had ceased being a director and shareholders in OMS, having sold his entire shares in the company.

The claim by OMS management is that Ayeni who is neither a director nor a shareholder in the company cannot allege financial misappropriation in a manner as to claim he was affected by its administration as he is just a meddlesome interloper in the affairs of the company.

Besides, the EFCC had, in a letter to the Chairman and Board of Directors of OMS on June 25, 2019, confirmed with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) that Ayeni had sold his entire shares and resigned as Director and shareholders of the company(Documents attached).
The letter signed by EFCC’s Director of Operations, Mohammed Umar Abba, was tilted: “Re: Investigation Activities”.

It read in part: “We refer to your letters dated 20th December 2018, 15th April 2019, 22nd May, 2019 and NNPC letter dated 28th December 2018 on the above subject.
“We wish to state that in June 2017, a petition regarding infractions by the previous Board and Management of Skye Bank was forwarded from the Office of the Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“In the course of investigation, Dr Tunde Ayeni was invited and he volunteered a statement confirming the withdrawal of 29.5 billion naira cash from the Skye Bank. He, however, promised to refund the said funds to the bank and further claimed to have some interest in Ocean Marine and its subsidiary companies.

“Based on the above, investigation was extended to the Corporate Affairs Commission where it was discovered that Dr Tunde Ayeni had on the 8th August, 2018 actually sold his 35 million ordinary shares in Ocean Marine Solutions Limited and 37.2 million ordinary shares in PPP Fluid Mechanics Limited to Wells Property Development Company Limited, a subsidiary of Ocean Marine Solutions Ltd….”
The EFCC had said that its investigation so far did not indict the Chairman of OMS and its subsidiary companies, Capt Okunbo(a copy attached).

Recall that Ayeni was once a non -Executive Chairman of defunct Skye Bank.
Other documents directly relevant and/or ancillary to the validation of the legitimate acquisition of Ayeni’s shares in OMS are published hereunder, including a letter by Mr Ned Nwoko who Ayeni’s lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN) mentioned in his petition to the EFCC.

Nwoko, in the letter to the Inspector General of Police, on the funding for Paris Club litigation said he did not know Ayeni and that he related directly and on personal basis with Capt. Hosa to the exclusion of OMS(Document included). Also our Reporter obtained a payment instructions document from office of the Chairman, Ocean Marine Solutions Limited to effect #1 billion transfer to Ayeni's company Olutoyl estate development and services Ltd owned on 26th November, 2018 and the balance was paid over a period of 2 years installment.

A civil society group,Good Governance Coalition is calling on the President Muhammadu Buhari to re-appoint the Commandant-General of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu. According to the group, this is as a result of Gana’s milestones and achievements during his first term in office.

“Our appeal is premised on the commandant-general’s giant strides which include the agro-rangers initiative, patriotism, nationalised disposition, robust inter-agency relationship, reduction in farmers, herders’ clashes across the country; re-deeming the image of Nigeria educationally by partnering with Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB); stoppage of circulation of pre-registered SIM cards; tackling of illegal mining; transparent recruitment into the Service; successful regulation of private guards; strategic collaboration with traditional rulers to nip in the bud the incessant banditry menace; driving the safety of critical national assets across the country and the recovery of stolen telecom cables.”

Other achievements are “the increased conflict resolution mechanism put in place; high esprit-de-corps of personnel; manpower development and capacity building; enhanced intelligence gathering mechanism pursued by Gana; increased promotion galore of men and officers; using sports as a tool to re-engineer the personnel and busting of drugs syndicate.”

Thus we join well-meaning Nigerians, the National Assembly, governors, ministers and directors-general of MDAs that are clamouring for the re-appointment of the CG for his transformational philosophy and sterling qualities.

“We, therefore, urges the president to reappoint the commandant-general for his paradigm shift, on security, leadership, mentoring of officers and men, including his determination and focus to rid the nation of farmers/herders clash through the Agro-Rangers Initiative and the upgrade of facilities at the Service Institute.”

At the age of 58 and with many more years to reach the milestone of 35 years in public service of the Nation,it is evident that a renewal of his tenure as CG NSCDC will enable him to consolidate the aforementioned achievements for the benefit of the Corps and the volatility of the security situation in the country.

If given the chance to continue in office as it was with the erstwhile CG that spent 10 years and two terms in service at the Corps,then Nigerians can be rest assured that his magnanimity and tenacity in the aspect of ensuring that the mandate bestowed upon the Corps by the Act establishing thus will be systematically executed in due course and satisfactorily.

Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu and NSCDC’s Scorecard!

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, is presently an institution in a league of its own years since its emergence as one of the paramilitary institutions in Nigeria.

The NSCDC has attained series of milestones in recent times as one of the leading paramilitary institutions in the country.

However, these were made possible with the relentless effort of the Commandant General, Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, who has been at the helms of affairs in ensuring a smooth running of the security agency.

It is important to note that, the NSCDC, before its establishment in 2003 operated as a voluntary organization established in 1967, then as Lagos Civil Defence Committee to protect the then Federal Capital Territory of Lagos and assist victims of the civil war at the time.

Interestingly, up on till now, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp has continued to embark on reforms and training strategies, contributing to national security, while preserving and maintaining peace in the country.

Over time, the NSCDC under the helms of Commandant General, Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu has racked up series of accomplishments, a feat which has made NSCDC to be perceives as a top dog in paramilitary affairs.

Most recently, it was announced that the NSCDC generated a whooping N800 million in revenue. This latest achievement was because of their activities in issuing applications and licenses to Private Guard Companies.

Over 250 applications were issued to prospective Private Guard Companies as 87 were licensed by the NSCDC. The NSCDC also generated Personnel Database for Private Guard Companies and, Vigilante Group of Nigeria.

Also, as one of the key players in the fight against insurgency, the Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu-led administration of the NSCDC deployed over 5,000 well-trained personnel to the north-Eastern part of Nigeria to protect IDP camps, and also help to reclaim territories annexed by the Boko-Haram sect.

Similarly, the NSCDC has carried out joint task operations with the military to curb insurgency, herdsmen attack, banditry, and a host of others.

Since the appointment of Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu as NSCDC boss, a total of 300 convictions were secured. At the moment, at least 150 inmates are serving jail terms, while over 500 are awaiting trials. These convictions come as a result of their operations in the fight against criminals engaging in illegal refineries, pipeline vandalization, oil theft and other illegal activities in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria.

The Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu-led administration also signed an MoU with the Nigerian Communication Commission in a bid to enhance telecom facilities, and to alsl upgrade security-telecom infrastructure. Following the signing of the MoU, the Commandant General ordered the deployment of Corps to all 774 local government of the country, thereby providing adequate security for NCC facilities like the Emergency Communication Centre (ECC).

The NSCDC boss Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu also place a great premium on the welfare of the Corps.

He has the perception that “The ability of the Corps to handle its mandate can be likened to the existence of well trained and highly motivated workforce”.

Particularly, the NSCDC under Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu has initiated a significant number of workshops, seminars, intensive training, and development programs both home and abroad. As a result, over 40,000 personnel has benefited from these developmental reforms.

Prompt payment of salaries and allowances as become a norm since the emergence of Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu. Provision of new kits, insurance against accident, death, and other disability during the course of duty has been a top priority.

Additionally, the activities of the Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu NSCDC led administration has not gone unnoticed as he was recently enlisted among the 20 people to be honored by the United Nations at the United Nations Public Service Awards in New York.

The NSCDC boss also bagged an award in Geneva at the Knight of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO) Award for his contribution to civil defence earning him a nomination as the Knight of the International Order of Civil Defence. The ICDO award was for his efforts in creating the Agro-Rangers initiative which over 3,000 personnel were trained to protect farmers and their investments from reoccurring criminal attacks.

Likewise, the Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu led administration at NSCDC has embarked on numerous capital projects. Some of the projects have already been completed.

The completion of six units of a three-bedroom apartment in Sauka, Abuja. Construction of an administrative complex with inbuilt cells and armory in Ebonyi command, Abakaliki; completion of an administrative complex with inbuilt cells and armory in Ogun State, and Niger State, respectively.

The first disability reality show, AID (Ability in Disability) Talent Hunt came to an end on December, 21, 2020 in Abuja and a blind DJ/singer and instrumentalist, Augustine Akpeji emerged as the winner of the contest.

The grand finale of the contest have 14 remaining contestants performing on the night to surge it out for the ultimate prize.

The night witnessed a lot of fun for the audience as some of the contestants brought their best forward and after the first performances, four contestants, Molakwu Blessing Nkechi(amputee), Moses Uzuakpundu (Blind), Ibu Peter Ogar(Physical disability), and Sunday Ewolo Abraham( physical disability and blind) were evicted.

The remaining 10 contestants, Wilfred Agharne(blind), Philip John (physical disability), Lucky Pastor (blind), Akpeji Augustine Ayodele(Blind), Ameh Sunday Kelvin ( amputee), Sunday Ejeh (physical disability), Festus Zenda (Deaf). Odogwo Christopher (Person with Albinism), Kelechi Uhegwu (physical disability), Ava Pelemo Nyajo (Physical disability) had their performances and after the judges after their consideration of the votes, talent and characters, they choose the first black blind DJ, Augustine Ayodele Akpeji from Edo state as the winner of the contest.

Augustine Akpeji would go home with a car prize and one year promotion of his act by the organizers.

One of the judges, Mother of Model offered jobs to the two blind DJs in the contestant, Wilfred Agharne and Augustine AKpeji, she said “the two DJs have been employed in my club”.

Mother of Model also offered to sponsor the production of the team song and also sponsor the video of the song and one of the judges, Sidney Sparro will be the producer of the team song.
