Popular Abuja-based musician, Chop Boii, has been confirmed murdered alongside three of his friends in the Gwarimpa area of Abuja.

The fingers of the musician and his friends were also chopped off after they were murdered yesterday, Tuesday, September 27, 2022,.

Some unknown gunmen were alleged to be behind the attack, as these gunmen went ahead to use their blood to write on the wall.

“The late Chop Boii was at the wrong place at the wrong time”, a friend of the late musician was quoted on Twitter.

The late Chop Boii was said to be producing new music with his music producer, another friend of his, and his producer’s girlfriend, at the residence of the producer at Gwarimpa, Abuja, when the gunmen struck.

“The unknown gunmen’s targets were the producer and his girlfriend, but unfortunately for them, Chop Boi and his friend were also there, and they butchered them all, even writing on the wall with their blood after cutting their fingers off”, a source disclosed.

Local Govt Vice Chairmen Conclude Abuja Conference, Appreciate Buhari, Governors For Support

Local government vice chairmen under the auspices of Association of Local Governments Vice Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGOVC) have concluded their 3-day conference in Abuja, the nation's capital with award of excellence on deserving individuals for their roles in the development of the country.

The 5th annual national conference brought together all Vice Chairmen of the Local Government Areas from across the country, political, religious and traditional leaders as well as stakeholders in the local government system.

Addressing the high profile men and women at the event, the National Chairman, Association of Local Government Vice Chairmen of Nigeria and Executive Vice Chairman, Ikorodu Local Government Area of Lagos State, Aarebinrin Hon. Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba, who headed the 2022 Central Planning/ Working Committee of the conference expressed gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari, governors for their support in making the local government administration more effective.

Speaking further, the ALGOVC chairman noted that the local government is a critical tier of government in advancing development to the grass-root.

She said, "The roles of local government administrators cannot be overemphasized, taking cognizance of our closeness to the grassroot as we provide a bridge between our local communities and the state government.

Oba of Benin, Others Participate At Berlin Humboldt Forum Arts Exhibition In Germany

The Oba of Benin, Ewuare II and other prominent traditional leaders in Africa and across the globe have participated at the just concluded arts exhibition, second opening of Humboldt forum in Berlin, Germany.

Humboldt Forum, a museum of art and culture also played host to arts collectors, enthusiasts, and researchers across the globe.

The museum houses non-European collections including thousands of artefacts looted from the palace of Benin Kingdom during the 1897 invasion.

They were on display at the celebration and commissioning of the last part of opening of Humboldt Forum.

The revered Benin monarch was at the exhibition which took place on 16th, September 2022, represented by his brother, His Royal Highness, Prince Aghatise Erediuwa who led other members of the delegation.

The museum had announced plans to pursue conversations with Nigerian officials especially Edo State Government lead by His Excellency, Godwin Obaseki regarding the repatriation of the Benin Bronzes in its collections and pledged to repatriate Benin Bronzes in its collections.

As youths across the country continues to yearn for good governance and credible leadership, a newly incorporated youth movement known as Nigeria Youth Decide has outlined a 10point agenda for the Next President of the country in the forthcoming 2023 presidential elections. The statement was made by the conveners of Nigeria Youth Decide during a World Press Conference in Abuja.

Dr. Utchay Odims maintained that the major issues plaguing the country was unemployment, insecurity and poor infrastructures. While lamenting bitterly on the state of Nigeria youths in the political affairs of the nation, Odims emphasized that youths are not slaves but stakeholders in government.

Amb. Desmond Agboola had also earlier explained that the forthcoming election will be a different ball game, as youths are more awakened. He says "everybody is ready to see how our nation can move and how we can get credible leaders that can move our nation further".

Also addressing the Press, was Dr. Ifeoma, an executive member of the Central Working Committee of Nigeria Youth Decide who opined that Nigeria would be better if youths are carried along in the leadership structure of the country.. She further announced the 10point Agenda which any President coming into power must implement.

The 10point Agenda as announced includes smart job creation, 50% cabinet seat reserved for youths, deepened transparency and accountability, full application of federal character, 10% budget allotment for SMEs, well funded educational and STEM systems, affordable healthcare and provisional primary health investments.

Other required agenda may also include, government support for local and state security architecture, orientational campaigns for a violent-free transmission of power and not also excluding the campaign against vote buying to ensure Free and fair elections.

However, the youth group will be hosting the most anticipated largest gathering of youth in Nigeria to a Conference which is themed, "the Nigeria of our Dreams". The conference will be more of a debate amongst all the presidential candidates on the 2023 presidential race. According to Amb. Desmond Agboola, a Co-converner of Nigeria Youth Decides, he described the state of the nation as one that requires immediate intervention with creative initiatives generated through great efforts of youth inclusiveness in governance.

Abuja Body Of Comedians Concludes Investiture Of Onome Da Saint With Award Ceremony

The umbrella body of comedians in the FCT, Abuja Body of Comedians (ABC) has concluded investiture of its 3rd president, Onome Ohwodo popularly called Onome Da Saint with an award ceremony in Abuja.

The event attracted notable individuals from the entertainment industry, business and political world.

Top political office holders from the executive and legislative arms of government were also present at Sheraton Hotels Abuja the venue of the event.

Outstanding partners in the entertainment industry were also honoured with awards of recognition.

The event was part of the renewed vigour of the new leadership of the ABC to relaunch to limelight after it experienced some hitches arising from leadership squabble.

After several tussles, Mr Onome Ohwodo the host of Popular comedy show ' Laff It Off With Onome Da Saint, and a popular radio host, Amb. Wahala were elected President, VP at an election that took place at TSC event center, Area 3 Garki.

Onome Da Saint emerged victorious when he polled a total number of 47 votes to trounce his closet opponent who parted with 19 votes.

Amb. Wahala polled 41 to floor other contestants who polled 16 and 7 respectively.

They were announced winners by the chairman of the electoral committee and popular Abuja presenter, Benjamin Ubiri

The election which adjudged peaceful and orderly returned all other executive members unopposed apart from President and his Vice.

Miss Kenya, Messry Lung'atso Emerges The Beauty of Africa International 2022

Kenyan-born Messry Lung'atso is the Winner of the 3rd African Edition of the Beauty of Africa International Baip 2022. She set the record as the third winner of the annual prestigious African pageant held over the weekend at the Sheraton Hotel, Abuja, Nigeria.

He encouraged the conveners of Nigeria Youth Decide to continue to be the light bearers of the nation, assuring total support for the project.

Earlier, Dr. Utchay Odims reiterated the readiness of young people to change the narrative of bad leadership which he said has held the country back for a long time.

According to him, if young people miss the 2023 opportunity, the country could slide into more terrible situation.

The organisers have earlier secured the endorsement of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, former Secretary General of Commonwealth, Chief Emeka Anyaoku and others towards to Nigeria Youth Decide project.

BREAKING: Policemen Feared Killed as Gunmen Attack Ifeanyi Ubah’s Convoy

An unspecified number of police operatives have been killed at Enugwu-Ukwu community in Njikoka Local Government Area as unidentified gunmen attacked the convoy of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.

Sources said the gunmen opened fire on the convoy, and police operatives in the convoyed responded, but about six policemen were gunned down.

The source said the gunmen may have been after the senator, but there are no evidence to prove this.

Iyke Orji, a social media user said, “Sen Ifeanyi Ubah was attacked today by Hired killers in Enugwu Ukwu. It was a calculated attempt. It wasn’t an impromptu stuff.

“Information was gathered about the time of movement and takeoff. The policemen were about four in numbers and they were attacked.

“All their arms were collected.The boys that spearheaded that attack were about nine in numbers.”

But another source who begged not to be named said six policemen were killed in the attack.

STATEPRESS could not reach Senator Ubah for confirmation as his line remained busy all through.

The spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga confirmed that there was an attack on men of the command at Enugwu-Ukwu, but insisted that the casualty figure remained unknown.

He said: “Yes, there was an attack at Enugwu-Ukwu today, but the casualty figure is not clear. As I speak to you, the CP has personally led a team of men to the scene, and normalcy has been restored.”

He promised that brief journalists on the findings of the command.
