the way i know
Minimize your apps, press & hold down the 1st app you want to include on the split screen
Three bubble options will appear, click on the one with two tiny rectangles (which is one at the middle)
The app will take the up space of the screen, leaving the lower part for you to navigate and select the other app
Both will now split and fit the whole screen, you can still readjust the sizes for one app to cover more of the screen tho
