You forget when it comes to "memory"

you left when it comes to "objects".

I left my keys on the desk

I forgot to give her the 1k

Hummmmm I shake my head for you. Tell me one thing you do that wasn't controlled or simply put a function of the brain or memory respectively. You only nitpicking the writers diction to show your intelligence and you re wrong my brother. It's about processing either you forget, forgot or you left it accidentally it's still the same thing and we all copy cus our intelligence quotient can pick that.

Go and read the Topic MEMORY. It's very helpful, whatever you dnt give time to process from your working memory - short term memory - long term memory becomes forgotten.

I beleive you should be able to get another UK visa in Nigeria having shown that you travelled and kept to the terms of your visa by departing when it lapsed. So if you don’t get your Canada visa by the stipulated date, just come back to Nigeria. You can appoint a representative to go to VFS UK and drop your passport and pick it up for you at any time (send it to them by courier). Just fill this form:
https://www.canada.ca/content/dam/ircc/migration/ircc/english/pdf/kits/forms/imm5476e.pdf

Praying Canada approves you, but if they don’t, apply for a UK visa and continue your academic career. You should have no trouble getting another visa.

THE LORD is your strength, you shall get your TRV. Also case is not as bad as you make it sound. I guess if possible you don't wanna touch down here in Naija atall. The U.K. ready to take your tuition anytime you re ready. Flight ticket back home could be the only thing at stake at due date.

Can you imagine one being scared of spending 24hrs more in the U.K. after a program you paid hard earned money for? Worst case scenario think Ireland . Their laws more lenient instead of ever going back

I submitted yesterday, though my final registration is by 17th of September. I have to come all the way from Lagos to Abuja to submit due to large crowd in Lagos. Like I was advised in this thread, Abuja is a walk in through.... Please, if I may ask again, is there any implication ? Thank you.

Anyone who wants to try should follow the advise of a Nairalander who submitted his application the same day he went to VFS without prior booking. We never know what can happen once you allowed into the building, just go early 5:30am as the person suggested. Instead of risking ones life and time to Abuja except you have another mission enroute Abuja. Was at VFS last week and I forgot my passport but they still allowed me to complete my biometrics, though I was asked at every point where my original passport was!!! The crowd there wasn't abnormal and I was number 71 got there around 9:30am. Spent like 1hr, 25mins.

Remember the early bird gets the worm, and the second mouse gets the cheese. If you being queried you can chip it in that your resumption time cannot beat the wait time

Okay, Thanks for the info. but how do you go about the letter of reference stuff?

I got 2 ref letters from 2 Profs at my University, while some programs requires 3 letters (2academic referees, 1 professional referee). It must be stamped and sealed, that way you can collect it yourself and courier with your supporting documents, they do accept proof of English proficiency/letter from your GES/GNS Dept at school. But your official transcript must be sent directly from the transcript unit at your school (whatever service being used) making it 2 separate courier to Canada.

If you need more info, inbox me

Mount Saint Vincent University, Halifax. N.S

They only offer 6 graduate programs in all, mostly social sciences/education programs (M.A/M.Ed) and the only science program being offered is Applied human nutrition. But I really don't know about undergrad programs, just go ahead and check for yourself.

@sopho,

Only God can help you. My advice is that if you did this mistakenly. You may send an email or notify them but bear in mind that it may also complicate matters as the VO may think that you are trying to cover up by explaining.

If I were to lend my two cents, simply take it to God in prayers. God rules in the affairs of man.

goingforward.

There is nothing God cannot do, but intent is everything sometimes, they will definitely dig it out, so before it's been dug out better if she points it out herself than wait to be asked why she lied. Send an email (funnily it could be overlooked) for the record and go pray hard.

You will be penalized for misrepresentation. That was a costly mistake.

It's indeed a costly mistake because it is clear to see, even in US visa application, you find the same there, except the Canadian own is trickier. Think carefully about why you picked NO. And state the reason plus you filled this by yourself so you can't say an agent filled a wrong info cus that's what they are known to always do. (You didn't read carefully is your only alibi, you generalized that it was only to Canada until you later read after submission. God is your strength ) nothing else. And pls we should all avoid 'He say, She say' and other generalizations they are always 50% correct and you need a 100% that's why we here on a forum with first hand experience.

Will I be denied as a result of that mistake?

Why not inquire about this problem from the VFS guys for firsthand info, or ask those who are experienced. As discussed in previous threads... You can email them to:/cc: cic contacts in Nigeria telling how the mistake came by because you were expected to read carefully before ticking and also proofread before final submission. They might regard it as a flimsy excuse or a second-thought lie. But for the record email them and keep your sent message safely till a later time, hopefully you might have no need for it since your application processing starts after 1-3days after submission. Good luck, and also wait to read other advice you would be given here. Mine might not be the right one afterall

Goodmrn could someone help lay my concerns to rest. I submitted my online application last week and I accidentally skipped the correspondence from my Uni that ask me not to pay tuition until arrival because they have no refund policy in existence so it's money to thin air if outcome is negative and also my student transcript won't come out from the school called University of Ibadan after like 4months, (such an amazing school). But every other docs were intact, does this really affect ones chance?. Though I know visa approvals in our Naija lately has bin by grace

Bro... someone gave you an advise but you seem not to have taken it atall and I noticed. We all learning here though and we understand how ambiguous this whole process is. From my point of view what you have together isn't feasible to scale through so you don't waste your money. Firstly You in a common law relationship with 2kids and you want to take everyone to Canada at once. It's marriage that can only work for that. They should be your home ties. You are simply relocating as they put it. And your wife doesn't have the financial strength then how would it work except you earn like 1million per month minimum. You ddnt mention if it's masters or pgd sef, ohhh I remb it's college which doesn't carry enough weight as Univ

The advise someone gave you is the most logical one. Get to Canada first befr dreaming of relocating your family and if not probably for one of the kids you could get lucky.

Relocating family works for company owners based on those that I have seen not students who are likely to still seek funding one way or the other.... I'm only opinionated, I might be wrong though. Almost everyone has someone who is family and good to take along when it pans out well, but it's called extra or excess baggage.

First bank master card will work perfectly, the total cost is between the sum of 66270-68000. Yes uploading documents comes first before completing payment. Upfront medicals is not compulsory, most applicants go for this due to the time factor, because it speeds up visa application processing.

All the best!

Thanks a lot for the info. I guess I might wait a week or two after submission to complete my upfront medicals if that could come anytime irrespective of submission date.

Probably instructions on what form to download and how to fill specifically is in previous and past threads. Could someone give a detailed explanation or copy link on the exact forms needed for Study visa/TRV. I definitely know I could use a PDFfiller if form not editable. And is any of the appropriate forms up to date once it's from cic.gc.ca, cus one was from 2010 and another feb 2018.

IMM1294:

IMM5832 (should page 1-5 checklist be ticked with a pen or I can use pdffiller to do that on the computer) and should page 17-19 also be filled with a pen and if space inadequate add an extra A4?.

IMM5483 (should I also add this as another checklist)

Which is the correct family info form between IMM5707 & IMM5645...or I'm just suppose to use the family info section contained in the IMM5832 which is the correct family info. Also I keep finding diff obsolete versions... should I use anyone from cic.gc.ca irrespective of the date it carries.

Happy Sunday...

If you have collected your transcript before, it's simple. Just go to the computing centre beside faculty of science and social science, they will give you authority to pay which will be taken to the bursary for payment. Once the payment is made, then you go back to the computing centre to fill the transcript request form. You will pay a separate courier fee for it to be mailed to WES address. Just prepare like N25,000 plus your transport to Ibadan if you are from the south west.

Computing center/transcript unit isn't beside Faculty of science no more. It's now at admissions block beside Student Affairs/Niser Park. Go to Room 5. Don't just pay and turn back, expanciate on what you need the transcript for so I can give you adequate info.

Yes this is good. Argue that you intend to come back to the same company at a higher position, that with a masters from CAnada, you would be highly desirable to the company and very much respected in Nigeria. If you have land, assets, spouse or children, it's very good way to concentrate on showing additional ties.

Okay!!! I have several hometies aside a spouse and child. But I mentioned in my SOP that we got engaged lately. That was Dec though., or it has to be marriage or nothing else.

I am more comfortable with you going for a two year program, not one year fast track. The longer the time for study the more your bonafides as a genuine student is shown. A two year study leave is highly contingent on how much pay and time you have been working for this company. Or leave the study leave entirely out and concentrate on other forms of ties that would compel your return to Nigeria after two years. There is very little evidence to show that study leave works anyways. The same thing for affidavits that people are doing swearing to come back to Nigeria after their studies. Or bonds signed between employee and employers promising to be sponsored and return. VOs are extremely fertile on the tricks people are using. You have to show something more personal and realistic. I had talked to this guy even with a good paying job in the petroleum industry going for a Phd for your years. We talked about a study leave and people's suggestion that he include a study leave of four years from his employers. At the end of the day, he decided personally against it as unrealistic. Guess what? He made the right call, his visa was approved without a study leave as that long period of study leave would have been grossly unrealistic.

Your explanation is vivid. I really appreciate and I agree with everything you said. I see the reality in VOs not buying the idea of a return to same work place when they arent the mastermind of one's training or educational upgrade, not realistic. Even a white man in his country would likely join a larger firm with his better qualifications and reap dividends accrued to the advancement. I will take the study leave letter out and buttress family, personal and social ties. And explain the program time and intention to finish within 2years. I hope this would be sufficient!

I will caution against long study leave of two years. Is this realistic? They add nothing but incredibility to an application. What employer gives study leaves for that long and expect such a person to return after two years? Most companies don't give out study leaves except they are paying for you or you hold an extremely important position with them. Stay true if you don't have study leave and argue instead that with what experience you obtain in Canada, you hope to come back to the same company and obtain better promotion or even better, found a company of your own and be a respected voice and authority in Nigeria in the field. VOs are looking for an authentic voice.

That's genius bro... trying to add a bit more home ties that was why I got that letter from my boss. We are quite close. Just as you said 2yrs study leave is unrealistic. Can I just tender the 1year letter like that and explain in my SOP that I intend to do the 1year Fast track program to make it tally. In my SOP I wrote that I intend to re-join my coy as a partner. Already I have what it takes to become one but I still need more leverage and edge.

VFS will accept colored printed pictures, as long as you copy and paste them to your word document and enclose as part of your SOP. The truth is these pictures will not influence anything, CIC is more interested in hard proof. So of if you have a marriage certificate as proof of your parents marriage, it's way better route. Yes indicate two years. CIC will not give you an open ended visa for a masters lasting 5 years.

Thanks bro I get your point... I would take the marriage pic out and submit the award plaque picture alone. There is no marriage certificate again, wedding don pass 42years. Lol, maybe I should leave that out if it's not compulsory.

Indicate 2 years program on your study permit IMM form and questionnaire. Provide explanations on your SOP.
Also ask your employer to change the study leave approval for 2 years.
Those that submitted their application december/january complained that VFS workers refused them from submitting pictures. So, if this pictures are very important to you and you feel it will play a vital role on your visa application. Go with the printed coloured copy of the image to VFS and confirm if they will accept it.

All the best!

Thanks a lot bro. Understood!!!

Please I need clarifications on this; My program Start date is Sept 2018 and Completion date is Sept 2023 as written on my acceptance letter. House what do you advise I input when filling my Study questionnaire on study duration. Stating 5yrs isn't logical, the program fast track is 1 year, but normal time is 2years. Max time is 5years they indicated. Already my study leave letter/notice from work carries a year and shall become active when Im ready to leave.

Also is it true that I cannot add any pictures to my application ... my awards plaque and my parents marriage pic in lieu of certificate? However both re printed in colored on A4 paper.

Please someone with adequate info should help me out on this.
