Is there a way for me to know which embassy is processing my application. I've been hearing Nairobi guys, and I just want to be sure my application is not with them. I submitted online.
Most likely to be in London. That office has been processing a bunch of online applications lately and there is also chance that it's in Lagos, cus Lagos has been replying some correspondences also.

Hi all, Kindly advise! I graduated with B.Sc Computer Science some 15 years ago. Work experience has been in Business development/marketing/sale/financial planning, spanning about 13 years. I'm yet to have a 2nd degree and I just applied to a college in Canada to study a 2 year graduate certificate course in Global Business Management. I'm I likely to be granted study permit?
There is no guarantee of who could get or not get a study visa, but the feasibilities and relevance of the said course is the " - " grad certificate program is too weak for your expertise. They might presume you simply finding a way out of Naija. Plus if you have worked in that field that long (since 2005) an MBA should be what you considering.

Oh wow, I never knew I shouldnt write them. I just dont know why I need an urgent decision - though my session is for the winter semester. But Please what is the faster route that I should have followed?
While I was trying to put in my application it appeared there wasn't any distinct difference. I guess it changes, since them VOs sef be like weather. But at the moment, paper route is faster. In 8wks you should have an idea where your application is going, for some online route like mine, im still clueless at almost 12weeks. Bt I'm patiently waiting and praying. Even with these plenty weeks to CIC people they have greatly improved compared to their average of 6months to 2years for the migration option.

My application is one month old. So I feel that if I write them, somehow they will be jolted to start elgibility review of the application.
Lol... that one go be holy jolt ohh. You are not expected to write them until your processing time is up bro. They said do not write them till processing time is up. You should have gone for the faster route then plus fall resumption is gone, so why are you writing them? or so much in a hurry. Wait for your time and try to take your mind off it if you no want high BP.

Hello Nairalanders,

Please am new here. I have been offered admission at Cambrooks College, but as the school doesn't have hostel facilities, my question is that can I rent hostel accommodation off campus?

Also, how many month accommodation payment/booking does the embassy require in the application?

Please your response is highly appreciated.
Definitely you going to find an apartment outside, in the meantime you need to focus on your VISA first, while enroute your Canadian dream school admission is like 30% of the journey, the remaining 70% is for your visa. I never knew that myself, I initially thought in 2months I'm in Canada after getting my admission but now it's almost a year and I'm still here, despite no denial, bt still waiting on the lord to pick my call. Hopefully. So act fast read the thread very carefully from the beginning then ask questions. The questions above are about the last set of questions that those who have gotten a study visa do ask, and that's when those over there in Canada already schooling can answer or be of help.

Visa is the first thing you NEED.

Its a 50:50 chance or almost a 70:30(where 70 is the chances of refusal). as you have pointed out, they are more welcoming to younger aged for the level . You stand better chances in Ireland or UK
Please HOUSE do not discourage anyone going for studies cus of age. How old dem Canadian prime minister be sef 40 something abi? Isn't it. I don't believe the age factor clause atall, there are other extraneous factors in some applications that makes it seem like the age thing is a major downside. Do not generalize cus of what you think, he say, she say. Habaaa school isn't a must now, just a needed edge in life. What if you are a technical genius and now you think a university education is vital for your new projections. You ve only got to prove yourself, your intentions, ability to do well, finance and more. And IF you have been idle is what these westerners don't like, be it internship, volunteering, or apprenticeship they like it. My bro and sisters you are welcome to pool your case. In EE, don't they recognize diplomas or apprenticeshiphuh Yes they do. If we look at the criterions by which VOs judge who is deemed fit to enter their country, that's an endless mission for us. Even if you are close acquaintance to one, they won't still tell you the real deal. That's why you see someone with a seemingly good profile still get refusals time after time and someone with an application riddled with mistakes gets an approval so please don't discourage anyone. Anybody can become anything, it's whatever we choose to be and whichever we set our mind to be. If you are 50years old and you want to apply to a Bsc program in Canada please do, JUST PROVE YOURSELF. Do all aforementioned on this thread, package tight and you will get it, na determination and perseverance ohh, or go ask @galala123.

While I was at the Uni a 55years old man was determine to bagged an LLB from law department, old man came out in flying colors oh, while we small boys with fresh brains were there struggling.

Calculate the correlation between age and visa approval. If you contest this, either positive, negative, partial or linear and let me know.

Hellloooo everyone! I came across this forum while browsing through the internet for information about visa delays. Although it was months after I submitted, I thought I should share some information with you in hopes that some will be encouraged.

Online Application.

Applied- May 7th
Biometrics Done- May 11th
Medical Request- August 17th
Medical passed- August 23rd
Passport Request- September 18th (The passport request letter is dated September 17th. I sent an email to them in the morning of the 18th and received the passport request after their usual technical update).

*I did upfront medicals which I sent with my application. When I went back to the hospital to get another examination, I was told to send the upfront medical report to CIC as it’s valid for 1 year. I did that on the 20th of August.

*I’m 31 years and applied for a 2nd masters. My 1st masters was done in the UK which I completed in 2012.

*I mentioned nothing of home ties in my SOP as I knew nothing of its importance. I have 2 younger brothers in Canada, 1 currently on study permit and the other applied for work permit which he got on the same day I received my approval.

*I used an agent, I didn't know about this helpful forum until August. Plus the agent was extremely helpful and took a load off me while I worked on other things.

God is faithful in all situations. Despite the study gap, 2nd masters and age as some see it as a barrier, God came through for me. Matthew 19:26 and Luke 1:37. I’m sure this is a miracle!

I still had to submit the right documents though.

My Documents Submitted
• CIC Forms
• Police Clearance
• Admission Letter from TRU (1st semester tuition paid)
• Letter of Recommendation (From volunteer work)
• Letter of Introduction (From full time job)
• Reference Letter (From full time job)
• 5 months Pay Slip (By the way, I earned just above 55k every month)
• Offer of Employment (From full time job)
• Bank Statement (Had a balance of about N185k)
• SOP
• Transcript from 1st degree and Masters
• School Certificates
• NYSC Certificate
• Birth Certificate and my Family's

Sponsor's Documents Submitted
• Affidavit of Sponsorship (My relation)
• Certificate of Registration (His business)
• Letter of Introduction
• Property Document (1 of his office buildings, 1 of his houses)
• Nigerian Bank Statements (£,$ and Naira accounts)

I hope this helps anyone out there. It’s great to have direction, although patience is key during this process.
All the best to everyone.
Congrats. God is a miraculous worker

Hey house,

Just to be sure. It seems the Police Character Certificate is not compulsory, as many people haven't been indicating it in their list of submitted items. Am I wrong to think so?
Well I don't know either to tell you it's compulsory or obligatory. But officially on CIC website it's listed in checklist as one of the documents you should submit. If you can, please do. A lot of countries request for it too, so the fact that excluding it has worked for others doesn't mean it would work for one.

Good day house,

I asked a question about this new form that was uploaded in September. IMM5832e (Lagos visa intruction office) one part says do not do upfront medical or pay tuition, please do you have an idea if anyone still do upfront medical?
It's a new form or recent development, so people here might not have your expected answer. Call VFS or any of the approved hospitals for first hand info if you still confused about what you saw. They should have latest info or as last resort email CIC Lagos (their inquiry email specifically) and ask if you can.

Hello everyone, a friend of mine studied international relations at masters level in germany, now she wants to cross over to Canada as a student to study either public health or global health but she can't afford the school fees for a masters there, she is thinking of going for a graduate diploma which is cheaper and for one year. She has been denied USA visiting visa twice from germany and she has been denied Canada study visa in 2015 before coming to Germany, what can her chances be? Is it advisable for her to apply for the graduate diploma or just apply for another masters? She is a bit worried about the study visa because she used a graduate diploma course to apply for the study visa the first time and she was refused.
Why would she want to leave Germany for Canada at this point in time for a downgrade, CIC unlikely to give her a visa for a graduate diploma. Another masters is her only feasible option or she might be considered desperate to enter Canada at all cost. Also if she doesn't declare her current masters program status in Germany they will still find out cus of the IMM forms where you list the countries you have been residing for last 6months., remb these top nations share information. Furthermore her recent US visa denials would further complicate things for her. My advice let her finish her program, or get a job over there, save money for further studies and go from there. Germany is not bad atall, a bird in hand is worth two or a million in the bush. Simply put, while in Germany she should find means to travel to other countries in Europe esp the Scandinavians, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Japan, even Australia. Or learn a language, find foreign jobs in her field of study she is got the opportunity since she is outside Nigeria already, a lot of Nigerians are also getting foreign jobs from here so why won't she without much ado, let her volunteer with multinationals, or organizations like Red Cross, WHO part time to boost her CV "IF based on her projections public health is her calling". Even if she returns to Nigeria her profile would be BAAM & LOADED she shouldn't be scared at all but only take on opportunities at her disposal wisely. Trust me she can go to anywhere she wants my dear, even get a US visa with ease, seek employment there, or process Express Entry to Canada which is her best bet from my own point of view. I know someone who was denied a US visa, he left for school in Germany free education after graduation worked for another two years, got married btw and now he is got PR to Canada with spouse and he recently moved from Germany.

Lastly the German passport is ranked no 1, it's stronger than any other passport in the world in admissibility. She might be looking too far. It would take you to over 76 countries of the world visa free.

*Look at Kemi Adeosuns' case she left her ministerial position for another excellent job* it's her profile at work biko so ASK HER TO CARVE A NICHE FOR HERSELF WITH WHATS ON GROUND.

i really wanted to do that but it would take 40 -60 days before i get gcms notes, then re-applying would take about 3 months before i get feedback from embassy and resumption is 4th of January 2019. if i defer again, it wont be so nice either because the next session after that is september and i'm a newly wed, I'm leaving certain things on hold (child-birth etc) till after I get there. this is my predicament.
Well if you have the nudge with faith you could go ahead with your re-application, but only if you have tackled the prominent problems described after your first denial. Spice-up your previous docs a bit more. I will also advise you to use paper route which seem faster lately. In 2months you should have a decision,. Overall this thing na God, no be man power. If you planning January put your application in before the middle of this month and dash up the mountain of prayer whatever your religion.

Yes he still needs one and all I previously stated must be there. Being a partner looks more solid from a finance/affordability perspective. Also owning the company might warrant Certificate, CAC papers and tax slips as indicated.

Please honorable house, how do i answer the part of the visa form that says "have you ever been denied before?" and "why".
Just state the obvious, mention both countries. I have been denied a US and U.K. visa in the past (If you not sure when do not put date).
You don't necessarily have to provide any detail if you don't know why! Most time reasons for denial in both countries are vague sef.

Wea is the embassy in lagos?
A bit clumsy to describe and it depends on where you are coming from. From Obalende you should be able to find a tricycle (Ask these cyclists) to Kofo Abayomi street that could be your best bet. But the closest landmarks are Bonny Camp, American embassy street from the main road and CitiBank, after entering Ozumba Mbadiwe street from Bonny Camp it's the first turn to your right just before the American embassy junction (Walter Carrington) and if from Law School you can access Anifowoshe str through first turn to your left Oniru junction/CitiBank junction both on Ozumba or once you on Ozumba Way find a bikeman, don't over pay N100 max, it's just a few streets away.

*left arrow is the route via American embassy junction and right arrow is the route from Citibank junction*

Actually I've contacted Google before asking here. But no answer! Please I'll appreciate if there is anybody here who knows any Canadian University that can give masters admission using PGD studied in Nigeria (Computer Engineering).
Bro! There is no answer to your question that's why Google couldn't answer that, next time use Quora for technical ?s like this. Well I doubt if you can tender a PG Certificate for masters admission, what is mostly recognized is your school leaving certificate, standardized tests like GRE/GMAT, IELTS and bachelors degree (Which you have to submit irrespective of your most recent attainment)... A (2:2) I guess, if that's the case, submit your documents to the school and add the PG Certificate to get the necessary boost. And put finesse to your work experience. To the westerners that is as important as a good degree from any institution, one has got to make up for the other. The 3 (Bsc cert, CV, and PG cert) should get you your admission. Email admission offices at your shortlisted Canadian universities that offer Comp Science courses and write concise mail to inquire any necessary info and to know if you may apply. So you don't waste your precious time and money and still receive a NO NO after admission decision is taken.

Note: Even if there is no request for documents like a PG Certificate just include it in your correspondence and put in every experience you ve ever had in that field on your C.V. Also remb it's not only about what you know but what you can also do.

My 2 cents.

please I need advise on this. I applied for study visa after gaining admission to a school (College) in Canada (I'm a lawyer and applied for int 'l business management). I had paid more than 50% of the fees, had about 2m in my account and a sponsor (my uncle, same surname with very good amount of money in his acct). I also applied along with wife (TRV for her), but I was so shocked when we were not given visa on the ground that they are not sure we would come back and not sure we would have access to Sponsor's acct. I'm thinking of what do next: whether going for PR or reapplying again with a stronger SOP. Very confused right now.
Bros this thing is clear to see. If you want to take your wife or kids at all cost to Canada then you can't make that fly using a sponsor. The cash has got to be yours or your wifes'. No matter what's in the sponsor's account it makes it difficult. Try the EE/PR way or go and make your wife wait to join you at a later date. Even people from Nigeria of early 70's travel to study abroad and their wife join them lateron. But if your sponsor is family and they trust you could have them put the money in your account. That's another smooth sail, it's not CIC business how you got the stash. I have seen about (3) fairly rich families (family size of 4, 5 and 6) migrate to Canada and it was within 6months, remb from your CAC docs they can tell how big your LLC is, and from your account, CV, and more. They had no reason to say much!!!

thanks sir for the response am going for undergraduate study I finish my secondary school in 2015 my question what are my of getting the visa with New Brunswick community college
There is no assurance about anything Canadian study visa. (Everyone answering questions here re not visa officers that can ascertain you either you get it or not, people here are those who have gotten their study visas and are in Canada trying to help others and those who are still waiting or hoping on their applications or re-applications). If you already have your letter of acceptance then read through this thread properly. Put in your best writing a good statement of purpose, clearly stating your mission, intent, your goals, and overall benefit of your course to you and your country and why it's important for you to travel atall to Canada for the program especially if the course is offered here in Naija. Also, you have a study gap of 3years (2015-18) what have you been up to? That needs some explaining because it could pose a problem too, so have you been working or learning a trade. You need to reflect that in your write up even if via your CV. My advice Read this part from (1-499pages) to start with and follow the instructions on the first page. With that your questions here would be directed and precise.

If you’re confident enough to ask your babe for such a huge amount of money, it’s clear you don’t value her. Don’t ask me how, it’s psychological.
What's psychological that's what make me jump to the conclusion that you re deluded and stop having that mentality, it's a freaking poor one. How can you say you can't even give your hubby 700k, that's meaningless and selfish of you to say if you got that money and your hubby needs it. 700k is petty money if good things come your way, so! if you want to build house for God sef you nogo fit give God pass 1million max. You go talk say when I no craze. Well sha we re all opinionated. The lady in question should have a conversation with him and lend him half of that sum!!! What if the business blossoms from her seed capital. Another perspective babygirl you could decide to be a part owner of his business and become his partner so you can both monitor the business and its growth. If true love exists, he would let her be his partner without flinching and even embrace that offer, then an agreement should be drafted for that. Forget gf or bf things, a lot of guys with genuine love don do good things for one another. "When he is nt even my bf or my hubby talk is trash, e no matter once your hand of kindness is gonna go a long way". I have been with ladies who wanna know my problems bt the barest advise or word of wisdom no go fit comot for them mouth na that type you be. 3yrs relationship dem no fit but you pencil and they keep that mouth running I need this I need that cus it's a man life duty to remain senseless and a do it all.

So now like the acrimony thing if another girl decides to help the guy you will say he is an ingrate blah blah. Na diff ways diff things dey pain us for body ohh.
