EventsWhat Will Weddings Look Like After Covid19 Restrictions!? by alhajimikehell(op): 11:00am On May 26, 2020

This has been the question lots of intending couples has been asking. While alot is yet to be known about what life will be like over the next few months, we know that weddings after COVID gathering restriction is lifted will look somewhat different from what it used to be. As many couples have postponed their weddings to later this year, wedding planners have already started to think about how to make events joyful, romantic—and ofcourse, safer. in this article we will talk about what weddings will be like after COVID restrictions has been lifted. much of these depends on NCDC guidelines as well as state laws and regulations regarding gathering, but we predict that many of these new and creative ideas will be implemented in coming months.

If you’re planning on having your wedding after COVID restrictions are lifted, read on for expert advice for hosting an unforgettable event.

Guest List

When people are once again allowed to gather, weddings will likely be smaller than before. this means you will have to reduce the number of people on your guest list, although figuring out how to cut number of guests can be an overwhelmingly difficult task, it is necessary , so that your guests can relax and feel more confident about attending the wedding( but we promise , the ones left out will understand)
benefit of having a smaller wedding include the facts that the wedding will become intimate by default, and also allow the couples to spend more time on the details and the experience as a whole.

Invitations & Pre-Wedding Communication
many couples have sent out cards to announce change of date, but there are addition that might have been left out, you need to let your guest know you will be adhering and monitoring health and regulatory guidelines as we navigate this unprecedented times
couple can also send digital invitation to guest that could not make it to the live event to join the ceremony on a live stream, the detailed invitation should contain where and how to view the video. this is a great way to build excitement before the big day.

Ceremony
Wedding after covid restrictions will still be an emotional experience with special moments, but with a few changes in the layout to ensure safety, there are going to spacing between chairs in accordance with the social distancing measure, also there might be less chairs at events now than there used to be, allowing people to stand close or far away from others as possible, also, to ensure everyone's comfort, ceremonies will become alot shorter, considering the fact that there will be less guests in attendance.
C0eremony programs is another detail to think about, if you are having an indoor celebration you could place the programmes on guests sits or if its outdoors, you could have write it on a board at the entrance to the venue rather than having someone hand them out.

Food & Drink
Food and drink is a major part of any wedding reception. That won’t change, but the way food and drinks are presented will likely change. the goal here is to ensure as few hands as possible while still providing guest with delicious culinary experience. since the number of guest will not be much, serve-your-self mode of serving might be employed here, and if not the number of servers will be reduced . vendors will also be required to where face masks, so I imagine we'll see some vendors with some fun modifications built in.
While for the cake, instead of slicing from the ceremonial cake you could have your vendor make little bits, wrapped, that can be shared at the event , this will also ensure less hands touching the cake.

Music
Instead of packed dance floors, couples may be moving toward a fancy party atmosphere focusing on toasts and speeches, special dances, and unique entertainment. Music will be more important than ever with a curated set list of music used from the introductions of the couples, to the special dances, to all of your favourite songs while you enjoy the party.
Larger dance floors will also make distancing possible.

Decor and Lighting
Smaller weddings mean couples can be even more creative with their decor. Having a signage will be a good idea, from menus to seating charts.
lighting may play a bigger role than ever before, from spot lights to mood lights. Couples are expecting smaller guest counts so adding spotlights on the tables, spreading out chandeliers and increasing the number of accent walls might be a good idea to help make the space feel wholly and encompassing.

Favors & Giveaways
Hand sanitizer is a hot commodity these days, and it’s going to be a popular wedding favor in the months to come. Guest care stations complete with hand sanitizer and wipes will be more commonplace, particularly near restrooms and any doors that guests will walk through.
A big question for weddings after COVID restrictions revolves around masks—should couples provide masks for their guests? I don’t think we need to go overboard with customized masks for guests. But having some there as a backup plan is important—and they don't have to be customized.

Photo & Video
Photography and videography will play an even bigger role in weddings that take place after COVID restrictions are lifted. Loved ones who are not able to attend will be able to experience the event through live streaming, photos, and videos. Photographers and Videographers will be bringing more value to couples and their families because they can share the emotions from the event with their missing family members and friends. In addition to more couples wanting videography, we are also seeing an increased request for live streaming services for wedding ceremonies. Including family members by live streaming the event is a special way to include those who were unable to make the event in person.

Events11 Questions You Should Ask Your Wedding Planner Before Hiring by alhajimikehell(op): 9:36am On May 20, 2020

Planning a wedding in Nigeria can be a lot of work, it is always better to get a professional help instead of handling the chaos all by your self, but before you hire your wedding planner it is important that you discuss the prerequisites with him or her as this will ensure that no confusion arise later. Before you meet your wedding planner, you need have a fair idea of your wedding budget, numbers of guests and numbers of ceremonies, your vision for the wedding and of course wedding date, with all these in mind keep this checklist of questions with you as you go searching.

Hiring a wedding planner to take care of all your wedding related should be one of the foremost decisions couples make, there are numbers of things that need to be taken care of before your big day, hiring a wedding planner allows you to focus on the more important things.

So, below are 9 important questions you need to ask A wedding planner, when you visit one to discuss your wedding and to begin the idea and design process.

1. Are You Available For My Date?

Although this may sound basic it is one of the foremost questions you need to ask your wedding planner, this ensures that they are available to work with your schedule, and if not, you may have to look for someone else. It is always a good idea to bring up this question early to avoid unexpected disappointment.

2. How Many Weddings Have You Planned And When Was The Last One?

Ask the wedding planner about his past event to get a fair idea of the works he has done, does it match your style, and your dream? Ask for pictures as well as videos and do not hesitate to be specific. You want to hire someone who is experienced enough to handle an intimate and emotionally powerful event such as a wedding.

3. Who Are Your Preferred Vendors And Are You Open To Work With Other Vendors?

Wedding planners usually have a network of planners they work within the industry. They can even help you get discount with some of them, but if you already have a photographer or even may be a venue stylist(decorator) in mind, ask the planner if they are open to work with them.

One crazy factor that can either make or break of your wedding is, if you have your eyes set on a specific vendor, and that does not go down well with the wedding planner you hired. This could lead to great confusion later and a potential mishap.

4. What Are The Average Cost Of The Wedding You Plan? This is a very important question, you must get an idea of the budget they work with for various wedding and for various packages. Then, you can bring your budget to the table and have a discussion over it, then determine what can or can't be achieved. This would also create a clear picture of their expertise.

5. What Are The Packages You Offer, And What Does Each Package Cover?

There are different types of packages offered by different types of wedding planner, some packages covers the entire event down to minute details, while others cover just some aspects of the event. You want to be clear on what service your event planner is taking care of and what you will be handling yourself.

6. How Will You Stay Intouch With Us?

Will they be at your beck and call when you need them or do they work according to schedule whereby you have to book appointment whenever you need to discuss with them? You need to be informed about these little details.

7. Do You Also Work Out A Plan B ?

Do they have a plan B, incase things don't go as planned? could be either a vendor canceling at the last minute or weather problem with the outdoor venue, talk to them and ask how they have dealt with similar issues in the past. Ask them about the most challenging wedding they ever took in the past and how quick their problem solving abilities are. Their answer will let you know if you can trust and depend on them or not.

8. Do You Have Any Referral I Can Talk To?

It is important to see their previous work not only in pictures and videos, but also talking to their previous clients, only they can give you an experienced opinion about the wedding planner. They can tell you thing you otherwise wouldn't have known. So feel free to ask for a referral phone number or email.

9. Can We See You Contract And An Estimate Of The Fee?

This is important if you haven't gotten around setting a budget for your wedding yet. Get an idea of the rates and see if it can work for you. It also helps you determine proper overall budgeting and plan accordingly. It is important to get an idea of rates at the initial meeting to avoid wasting time.

Do not forget to discuss cancellation policy, this will be use full in case you start seeing some red flag or you found a more preferable planner. If your wedding planner is not communicating well then, it means you are not their priority. This might be the sign you need to reconsider your choice.Remember, do not hire hurriedly, take your time and compare with other wedding planners as well and give utmost priority to the feeling in your guts.

We hope you now feel confident and prepared to have your first meeting with your wedding planner, know what sort of question to ask. From their perspectives to how much they charge, remember to ask it all and satisfy your curiosity before you make the big decision.

Follow these steps and ask your wedding planner all or at least most of the questions above if you want your wedding to be spectacular and a dream come true!

Are you currently looking for an event planner or have you had experience with any? Let us know in the comment section below.
